  1. I'm not saying that. CCHS has a decent team, the problem is how they are utilized. They have been in every game they played this year at least for a half other than Cookeville. That is based on the talent of the players. CCHS should and can hold there own. The question is, will the coaches give the players a chance to succeed. All I know is that you can't run the ball up the gut four plays in a row on the goal line with 9 men in the box. York should not take CCHS lightly. York is a good 2A football team, with that being said they are not as good as most of the teams that we have played this year. If CCHS does what it usually does it will be a W for York but if CCHS plays like I know they can this will be a good game! GO JETS! I hope some fans come out and support these kids on homecoming!
  2. Isn't that the truth! And it is likely to be #6 the QB.
  3. Great job Jets! Congrats on the victory!
  4. Rhea has a good football team but I believe if it wasn't for poor play calling on the jets side the score would have been alot closer. Which would have kept the spirits high and the jets maybe wouldn't have laid down in the second half. Play calling inside the red zone was horrible. Kick a fieldgoal for heavens sake, 4th and 15 from the 16 and you go for it. Get on the score board when the opportunity is there. Quarterback play needs alot of work and maybe even a replacement. Other than that PLAYERS looked good can't say that for the coaching!! Stick to what got you in the red zone. HARDNOSED football is how we need to do it, not to mention moving the ball slowly keeps the other team offense off the field. All you need is 3-4 yards per carry and I know the Jets can do that. When throwing, stick to short passes. The slant was open most of the night with the big cushion Rhea's corners were giving the recievers. The long passes were crap. I agree Rhea that the refs were real bad. There were bad calls going both ways. That was a great catch you were refering to, the boy got robbed.
  5. Game was closer than the score. I was looking forward to seeing Rhea County's third string!
  6. I really do not see how you can say the County Commissioners are a greedy bunch of politions and that our tax dollars are paying for. When County Commissioners get payed very little by the county. But the person who directs our great school system makes alot more than the majority of the County Commissioners and her job is definitly funded by the county.
  7. I do not think that the County Commissioners are the only people blame. Who made the decision to close schools at the last minute? If there is no money to give, there is no money to give! If they find a tree to pull it from please let me know where it is. This whole situation royally ticks me off. The students of Cumberland County deserve better!
  8. The Jet's definetly look a lot better than last year. The coaches and players are showing a lot more emotion. The CCHS/Stone game will be a better game than last year! I give the edge to CCHS but regardless of the outcome both teams need to keep their heads up. Do not let this one game predetermine how the rest of the season will go. Go JETS!
  9. If a coaching change happens at Cumberland County they might surprise you. The teams will have around 20 seniors next season. They are only losing like 4 kids that actually played. That is if next season seniors stick with it. If these kids are put in a situation to succeed, I believe they can. Believe it or not there is some talents on the CCHS team. It has to be utilized if it is not bring on 10 more losses. I not saying they will come out and when the region or anything. I do believe they will score more than 42 points next season! I hope lol.
  10. It is good to know that unbiased people who know about football also see the problem. I am glad to hear he goes out to the games. The Jets need all the support they can get.
  11. I agree with you about getting in the weightroom. That is a no brainer. Have you saw the Jets play? If you have you would see that the coaches need to go. The coaching staff has out grown their support. There has been no improvement since those coaches have been here. They just want to set back and collect a paycheck. As long as we let them that is what they will do. When there is a coach worth supporting I will be on board. When half of the kids want the coach gone because they do not trust him or believe in him, that is doubt.
  12. I think some individuals are, but that is all I know.
  13. It is in the works!! If the coaches stay we will be well on our way to 31 losses!
  14. Man, we should be better, but it is not going to happen with the coaching staff we have leading this team. Yes we should have around 20 seniors next season, if they stick around. I hope they do no matter what. More kids would play if the staff would step down. Several kids are upset about how bad they were made look in the highlight film. It was more of a highlight film for our opponents! Not only that the quality was poor. It is pathetic and it is just another example of how bad the program is under these people. As a head coach, he should have never gave that garbage out. What great memories!!
  15. Because of the coaches! It is not about playing time. It is about whether they trust and believe in what is going on, and alot do not. These kids are not stupid and alot of them know they deserve better.
  16. The team is young and it is only losing a handfull of players. Now, not to say that will not change if these coaches stay.
  17. Jet Pride are you a former player? If so what year did you graduate? What points don't you agree with? Because everthing I said is fact. Has anyone seen the highlight film? It is pathetic. It shows other teams scoring on the jets, the jets jumping off sides, and it has all kinds of mess ups. I don't know what is worse, this years programs or the highlight film. It is just another example of a pathetic football program.
  18. Jet Pride, let me ask you a few questions and educate you on a few things. Do you think that the CCHS football program is up to par? Do you think 42 points in the entire season is good? Only 28 of them were scored by the offense. Do you think the mercy rule going into effect 7 out of 10 games is acceptable? Do you think losing 20 games in a row is acceptable? This season, two of CCHS losses came by teams, whom we were there only victory. Another loss came by a team, whom we were their second win. Not to mention, CCHS plays in arguably the easiest region in 5A. CCHS did not get within double digits of beating any of the teams. The closest they got other than the 14-0 loss to White County (1-9) was a 23 point loss to a mediocre 3A team in Meigs County. In the past two seasons under Tony Schultz the Jets have been outscored 765-90, and have been shut-out 12 of the 20 games. Now, let me get into the fact that several good kids have quit over the past two seasons, and that there will probably be several more to come next season if this caoching staff stays in power. Not only have there been kids to quit, but several others would play if the coaching staff would leave. Does this coaching staff deserve to be there? NOW JET PRIDE, TELL ME IT IS A WASTE OF MY TIME!! Sneakypete, as a matter of fact I have attempted to talk to a coach and guess what? He decided to ignore me ,because I do not kiss his rear like other people. I have also tried to talk to the AD and he says, "We are just trying to get through the year." So basically, I take it that as he does not care. The sad fact is that the Adminstration does not care all together. Now, I don't know if you our from Cumberland County or if you have seen CCHS play, but if you have you would know there is a major problem. Maybe, you should read some of the facts listed above. As for trying to help out the situation I am trying and I will not let it go! If you are interested let me know. And the reason I am not trying to coach, is that I am in college for now, and I cannot commit my time to it.
  19. I don't know. You probably know more than I. All I know is, there are quite a few people who want a change and I plan on doing all i can to help make a change. This coaching staff is making CCHS look like a joke! People are saying that CCHS has no talent and that is BS! A coach has to put players in a situation to win and ours do not. Why can't these coaches take a hint and just step down? I believe you should up grade your ad, to looking for an entire coaching staff! What does PE need not apply mean? And doesn't seem like you need any certifications to coach at CCHS if you look at the current staff!
  20. You are sadly mistaken. There is plenty of talent on that team, but its hard to do anything with it when the coaches change there offense and defense every week. To me there was total confusion, and yes a coaching change would bring more talent out of the school hall ways and on to the field.
  21. glh7252 Are you interested in helping to make a change in the CCHS football program? If so let me know. If there is anyone else out there that would like to help make a change let me know also. It is a work in progress. The more the better.
  22. What do you do if a coach just isn't performing? When the team has lost 20 games in a row, and have only scored 42 points in a entire season. Kids do not want to play for the man, not because they do not play. But, because they do not trust him and they are not getting better. You do not see the coach motivating, teaching or disciplining. The school administration agrees there is a problem, but still does nothing about it. They say "we are just trying to get through the year". Do you stand back and watch a coach hurt your kid mentally, emotionally and physically? Not on purpose, but he does and doesn't even know it. What do you do?
  23. I have heard that he is in the process of trying to get more "volunteer coaches". What a load of crap, these kids deserve better than volunteers. Good programs have all the good coaches they need. Cumberland County should not be any different. Why don't we all go down to the sidelines and stand there with our finger jammed deep like our current coaching staff. If anyone has witnessed a CCHS game, they have to see the obvious problem. "The Coaching Staff" The only thing they are qualified to do, is to keep the players back from the sideline. These coaches cannot be permitted to coach at CCHS next year! If anyone cares about these kids stand up and do something. Call Principal Graham and your school board members. Tell them your concerns, if we all stand up then something will have to be done. Things our already being done and there are people who matter who support a change.
  24. I know a lot of people who feel the same way about Cumberland County. It is sad that the young people of the community do not want to return to the place they have called home most of their lives. I wish one of our sad excuses for a leader would read this and realize there is a problem all the way around. Oh well, we are straying from football.
