  1. they will be a better team this year than last year, mark my words, some REALLY great players coming back
  2. MJ will be good, not great. Not as good as last year.
  3. Houston should definitely win, rooting for OR though.
  4. No problems, no matter how much I say it, it isn't going to make them work any harder. It has to come from within them and I certainly don't think that will be a problem.
  5. Give credit where credit is due SC, USJ won the game. Don't try and take away their accomplishment by saying it is because you didn't play good. You don't want to come off as a crybaby, do you?
  6. Can't blame this game on the refs, Hendersonville had plenty of chances to put this one away, and we didn't do it this time. Don't leave it up to the ref to change the outcome of a game. Good job to Oak Ridge for finding a way to win and good luck vs. Houston.
  7. Why does every discussion about Metro football have to end up here, listen believe it or not, kids at Hendersonville and kids at Gallatin and schools like these have problems too. Guess what man, I was in a single parent household throughout my entire childhood, my mom worked multiple jobs and we still had to use food stamps. Don't give me this crap about how Metro students have this hard, doomed life. Just because you have some preconceived notion about kids form Hendersonville having nice easy lives doesn't make it true. Even if they do have hard lives, how does that prevent them from working hard at football?
  8. Man, I hope you are right. I am a little out of the loop so I don't know if he is back or not.
  9. Nice season, Commandos. You made it further than a lot of people gave you a chance to. It's not easy to have to play to the standards of a program like this, but I would say that you did fine.
  10. Good luck to the Commandos of Hendersonville!
  11. Right, I couldn't remember if he was the Hillwood coach or the Glencliff coach from last year.
  12. SC has has an awfully hard time with PC, you don't think this year will be any different?
  13. I'll agree with you on Overton, outside of the running backs, there wasn't any outstanding talent. But in all honesty, I believe both Hillwood and Glencliff had better athletes than Hendersonville.
  14. Guess, I should say I only meant region 5 Metro teams, because I agree with Blades and Thompson. Also I have nothing against Overton or their coach, they play hard. However, what Metro team did Hendersonville have more pure athletic talent than last year?
  15. Not necessarily, the athletes still have to have the desire to work hard and get better. Luckily, no coach in Metro is even close to Coach Hatfield at Hendersonville. As for me downing my own team, everyone who has played or is playing for Hendersonville realizes that we don't have the same athletic ability as everyone else, it isn't a secret man.
  16. Dude, I totally am. Spring went decent, only scrimmaged Mount Juliet, we beat them. I think it will take more than a minor change of attitude to fix Glencliff's problem, it will take an attitude overhaul. By the way, I just think that Glencliff is among the worst the teams in 5A, not necessarily the worst.
  17. Oh, I think it will happen many for many years to come. I played for Hville against Glencliff recently and let me tell you something, that team was one of the worst football teams I ever played against. Not bad athletes, don't get me wrong, but ZERO work ethic, they quit after we scored once, they were soft. It will take years to reverse the way that team thinks and functions because what I played against was pathetic. In the mean time, have fun playing Hillwood in your only meaningful game of the season. Maybe you will improve this season, but only because you couln't get much worse.
