Is anyone planning on attending the Oak Ridge @ Science Hill state sectional contest at the 'Topper Palace on Monday?

plowboy, or anyone who might know, what was the result of the Dobyns Bennett scrimmage with Happy Valley? Also, did the Morristown East scrimmage get rained out? If so, what is the rescheduled date? Further, are there anymore scrimmages before opening day on March 10?

Welcome to the inaugural Big 8 Conference, District 1/Class AAA, football thread. The purpose of this thread will be to span all games involving Big 8 Conference schools, in conference and out of conference, in an effort to reduce the creation of various threads for single games during the 2009 regular season. Certain games, however, will warrant their own threads due to the volume of banter back and forth that these games inevitably will create. I look forward to visiting the stadiums of each conference member this upcoming fall, as well as rekindling the old rivalries we all enjoy. I ask that any information concerning spring activities for each of the Big 8 Conference schools be posted on this thread. To be included are dates for spring practices and the dates for any spring scrimmages or concluding competition. I also encourage any fan from the various schools of the Big 8 Conference to post new information concerning summer camps of any type attended, player participation in camps, or any information thought pertinent to be mentioned here concerning summer workouts. We will get to preseason activities and workouts in the future, as the upcoming season becomes clearer on the horizon. Check back regularly for new poll questions and the latest topics of debate in the Big 8 Conference, as I am sure our many personalities will create a volume of disagreement. When does spring practice begin for the Indians? Will there be a scrimmage to conclude spring activities? If so, is it inter-squad or against an opponent?

Jordan Edwards has been fitted with a shoulder brace. He is cleared to play, but is not at 100%. He played approximately half of the game at Jefferson Co., scoring 9 points I believe. He will definatley play against the Hill on Tuesday.

Let's get back on track gentlemen...Dobyns Bennett and Big 8 football. Anybody know when Sullivan South and Gate City will play, and where?

It's just a gut feeling. In analyzing the stats and wins/losses on the year for both teams, neither team really looks capable of blowing the other out. I hope I am able to serve you crow tonight, however, I might be chomping on the fine bird myself.

The Dobyns Bennett @ Jefferson Co. game in Dandridge starts at 7:00 pm, as do all other Region 1 Quarterfinal games.

I agree with this assessment wholeheartedly. I would comment on the Tennessee High and Science Hill game but I went home to study for an exam after the Dobyns Bennett game. I did listen to the radio broadcast, however. Also, is it me, or does it seem like the $40 some have payed for a tricitiessports.com membership isn't/hasn't been worth it? I've been disappointed.

Also, Greeneville will travel to counties bordering or closely bordering Kentucky rather than those bordering North Carolina, a state they have a border with. Also want to mention, Unicoi Co. and Greene Co. share a common border.

Sadly the baseball thread is dead as well, I've been pretty run down myself. I feel there isn't much left to hammer out at this point. It's put up or shut up time now, you lose you go home. The outcomes speak for themselves, save a complete meltdown by the officials that costs a team, or a brawl; which we know both can happen.
