  1. The Livingston win last year was more of a signature win ,if there is one, than beating Smith the year before. It was a good win for sure but beating a 3a team who got trounced in the second round of the playoffs is hardly a signature win.
  2. This will be a tough game for the Tigers. It will actually be the first game I'll be at this year so I'm anxious to see how they do. We're facing an uphill battle in the game but hopefully the kids play hard and never quit no matter the circumstance and maybe with a fortunate bounce of the ball a time or three maybe we can pull it out.
  3. I know it's just a message board, and I'm sure mine isn't right alot of the time, but the grammar in some of the last few posts are horrible.
  4. Fair enough, but there are many other topics you could get bigstick riled up on other than one that's already been rehashed before. I've heard they are starting the first round of interviews today. I think there are 8 coaches they are going to interview. A couple of guys that are already in the system and Trey Perry and B.J. West are the ones I've heard about, I don't know the names of the other four.
  5. You sure are caught up in the schedule debate aren't ya. Is it really that big of a deal to you if somebody says Macon's schedule was tough? I thought all this schedule stuff ended a couple of weeks ago.
  6. It's not skewed, since Smith and Macon played each other you have to use them. If an outsider was looking at the strength of schedule he wouldn't omit either team just because they played each other. Again you have to look at the total 10 game regular season. And it is easily ahead of Smith's, probably by varying degrees by who you ask, but by any way you want to try to stretch the numbers Macon's would still be ahead.
  7. For strength of schedule? Head to head there is no doubt Smith was better than Macon but over a 10 game regular season Macon's SOS was easily ahead of Smith's.
  8. We have a few mutual friends so I knew you were bluffing, one of them being the one and only originalSC3.
  9. Same thing could be said about Upperman that you say about Sycamore. They didn't beat a team that had more than 3 wins, the combined win total for the teams they beat were 10-41 and I would be shocked if Upperman beat any of the 4 teams I mentioned from Macon's schedule. I added the total wins up of all the teams Macon and Smith played in the regular season. Macon's team win/loss total was 69-43, Smith's was 52-59.It's very apparent who had the tougher schedule and after looking up the actual numbers it's not as close as I thought it was at first.
  10. I'm not talking about just the top teams each teams play. Greenbrier, Sycamore, Jo Byrns, Westmoreland vs. Warren County, White County, Cannon County, Upperman. Out of these 4 teams which list of teams would you think is better? It's the bottom 4 or 5 teams that Smith plays that makes it schedule look weak.
  11. The biggest difference in the schedule isn't all the teams you named, it's the ones you didn't. Every team Macon plays is atleast competetive, the other five teams that Smith played, only one or maybe two would you consider a competetive team year in and year out, and that's probably stretching it.
  12. I don't really see how this post applies to Pemberton's situation. And aren't you a coach?
  13. It's easy to get the nerves frazzled on here, happened to me more times than I would like to count. And I don't keep up with bball very close but I do know we return (I think) all 5 starters from our runner-up team last year so it should be a good year. Good luck.
  14. I'm not going to look it up but it's mostly bad years with a few decent ones in there and 1 good one. Are you getting defensive because I said it wasn't great? That wasn't a slam, LA is a solid program. Good luck Friday night.
  15. Not great but very solid none the less.
  16. I'm not wrong and you know it no matter how much you want to deny it. And Smith does have a very good program, I'm in no way denying that but the simple truth is they play second fiddle to Trousdale in this area. If you don't believe me just ask anybody that's not biased towards either team what program they would say is better and see what their answer is.
  17. For what it's worth you could replace Trousdale with Smith and your ramblings ,for the most part, will still hold true, besides the gold balls of course.
  18. You have no control over your region schedule but you generally have a pretty good idea on what the teams will bring to the table year in and year out. I just think it would make sense to try to schedule a team or two that will show you something that you normally don't see during the regular season. If that means you have to play an inner city Nashville school or a private school or even a 5 or 6A school that might beat you by 20, so be it.
  19. I'm a few pages late on the great scheduling debate that went on earlier and I had some comments and questions but I'll just ask one. If you think back to Livingstons great run in 2005 you'll remember they had an exremely tough regular season schedule, do you not think this helped them when the play-offs rolled around being it gave them valuable experience on what to expect out of those teams?
  20. I have no dog in this fight but to see a guy from Smith County raz any team about their gold balls is comical.
  21. What where the questionable calls?
