  1. Ethan Cooper for JCS is an absolute BEAST and he finds his way to the ball better than any player JCS has ever had on their roster. I played on and have followed this team for the last 14 years and this guy is incredible. That being said , having him in the line-up this week is huge. Next, if JCS kicks the ball to Peoples then they deserve to lose the game. Any player that directly accounted for 14 points the first time they met should never be invited to cause disaster in this quarterfinal matchup. There is no doubt that JCS must play there best to have a chance in this game. When these two teams met in last years playoffs it was a far different outcome than in the regular season, with Milan blowing out JCS. Hopefully this year the JCS coaches and players have schemed and prepared for this very talented Milan squad. I have no prediction on the score, but will be there Friday night to see this awesome matchup.
  2. There is no doubt Milan will be ready for this game. Any talk of them being "flat footed or dead" from their big win over Westview is just pure talk. Milan had arguably the biggest scare their program has experienced this millineum in week seven. They will be ready to play and I am sure they will execute. I agree with supersteve that the key matchup in this game will be the fronts of both teams. JCS will have to find a way to keep the pressure off Hudson if they expect to have a chance. Late in the game in the previous matchup Milan was bringing the house and JCS had some open receivers down the field there as just no time to get the ball out. The key to this game, as it is in any football game, will be UP FRONT. There will be no prediction made by me for this game, only the hope that JCS will come out and compete like I know they can.
  3. Throw 1A and 3A out the door. Trinity has a solid team and will put up a great fight in this game. With the rain out of the area now, expect big things out of their passing game. TCA by 3....
  4. I beleive that JCS will continue to build on the excellent offensive performance that they demonstrated last week. The rain is outta here and the ball should be flying around. Hudson also proved last week what I have expected all along: THAT HE CAN BE A DOMINATE FORCE RUNNING THE FOOTBALL. Perkins and Grizzell both had great games last week and made several catches that players on my team when I played at Lambuth couldn't make. If the trio mentioned above can combine to perform like they did last week the offense will be in great shape. The Eagle defense will need to continue to play hard tonight as they have carried this team for much of the year. I have been amazed at how well they have done stopping the running game of teams that are twice their size. I love the heart of this team and the fact that they never slow down for 48 minutes. Eagles by 14...
  5. I totally agree. Charles will have his fellas ready and get their record back above .500.
  6. JCS has played fairly well the last few weeks, but they still have not got it fully together offensively. They seem to have trouble sticking the ball in the endzone when they get inside the redzone. I think that they will finally put it all together this week. I am not going to predict a score but I beleive JCS will win the game and get back on track for the upcoming postseason. I have seen first hand that the Eagles never stop coming and have been really impressed by the heart of this team that is outsized everytime they step on the field in 2A. I pray that both teams remain injury free throughout the game and that everyone involved in this game thoroughly enjoys this matchup between two high flying offesive powers.
  7. You are absolutely right that football weather is finally here, however your score needs a little adjustment!! We have a nice dry field and weather that is not inducive to cramps or fatigue. I beleive that JCS will earn some respect tonight and shock west tennessee...Eagles by 13. I have a feeling that Ethan Cooper might be the difference maker in this one. Good luck to both teams and may GOD watch over and keep every player safe JCS-27 Milan-14
  8. MTP should control this game behind Marco Daley. He truly is an atletic beast, but to answer your question it definitely won't be 31 in a row because they got destroyed last year in the semis when they came to Jackson Christian. Sorry but it will be more like 6 or 7 in a row.
  9. That sounds like a great game plan. If Milan can stop the slants, outs and comebacks then basically all thats left is the deep ball and its not like the JCS receivers have the speed to run past the Milan secondary.
  10. For those of you who don't know Sir Charles Lansdale is an excellent coach and I am sure he will have his boys from NC ready to go. They will come out and play hard because I know that he won't have it any other way. NC will hang in this game.
  11. Westview should roll, but anything can happen when you throw the ball as much as USJ does
  12. One thing is for sure, JCS played far from a flawless game last night and beat Humboldt by 14. This is very encouraging for their chances against Milan, but make no mistake if they get two passes picked off and housed by Milan they will get beat....badly!! I agree with Jaxman that Milan will be bigger, faster and stronger. In every category on paper Milan is superior and from a strictly statistical standpoint they should dominate this game. They have tradition like no other team in West TN and I'm sure the atmosphere will be electric Friday night in Milan. I have seen JCS play several games this year and they have looked really good in a couple and not so good in others. I think that the weather will play a huge role in this game. If its rainy and soggy it really hurts the Eagles chances, but if they get a nice dry night I think they may just have a shot to hang in the game. Hudson needs to have a career night and the defense will have to play its best game of the year to keep this one close. If the Eagles can somehow pull this one out there will be no more questions about if they can compete in this elite 2A region.
