  1. Mississippi can have Memphis! LOL
  2. Interstate through Nashville - I 24 to I 440 to I 40. It takes 4 to 4.5 hour from Tullahoma depending on traffic so add another hour and 10 minutes from Chattanooga. Good Luck!
  3. The reason the Spring Fling was moved to Memphis is not about facilities. It is all about MONEY. Memphis was willing to pay more to TSSAA than other communities for the priviledge of hosting the Spring Fling. The reason for this is because of all the revenue and business that is generated for the City of Memphis with all the schools sending their atheletes there for the Spring Fling. Yes, it would be more fair to have the Spring Fling in a centrally located area. That will not happen until some community is willing to and able to cough up the amount of dollars that Memphis has.
  4. Captain4, chill out ... I did not say that you all had played Blackman this year. I said that we (Warren County) had played Blackman this year. Nothing was said for you or anyone from Tullahoma to get up tight about. I was just looking at all the posts on this thread and it seemed to me that Riverdale was being left out of the equation. There is nothing negative in that observation about you guys on Tullahoma or against Columbia or Blackman. I have respect for all FOUR teams and their coaches. Good luck to everybody ... and yes, let the game be played on the field. WC15 - contact me. We have tryouts for the girls next Monday and Tuesday. I will be bringing the guys and girls in as well as the middle school girls on Thursday nights this Summer for fast foot work and ball control drills and hopefully you can still help out: 5:00 - 7:00 ... let me know.
  5. Everyone seems to be counting Riverdale out and I would not be so hasty. They have a good offense and if their keeper has the kind of game at Columbia that he had against us, they could shut Columbia out. We pounded their goal especially during the second half and their keeper was credited with 21 saves that night. I have not seen Columbia this year but I expect they are as good if not better than last year. I have watched Tullahoma three times this year, played Riverdale twice, and Blackman once. I would say these are fairly matched teams it just depends on who comes to play or not. I wish everyone good luck, success, and have fun guys.
  6. The first round games on Monday are played at the home site of the top four seeds. The host school sets the time for the first round game. As a matter of courtesty, it should be done in agreement with the team they are playing. We are hosting White County and I contacted their coach to discuss our start time and we agreed on 6:00 at Warren County. Lebanon will be at Blackman, Oakland at Cookeville, and Siegel at Riverdale. Riverdale and Cookeville do not have lights so I would expect their games on Mondays to be in the afternoons. Typically, games begin at 4:00 at those two schools. Going by the past tournament format that was played at Warren County before, the winner of the Warren\White County game will play the winner of the Riverdale\Siegel game on Tuesday at 6:00 and the winner of the Blackman\Lebanon game will play the winner of the Cookeville\Oakland game at 8:00. If the games are rained out on Tuesday, then we will try to reschedule them for Wednesday. The finals will be Thursday at 7:00 and the rain make up day is Friday. We will have an awards presentation for the districts 1st and 2nd teams with pictures made on Tuesday between games. Hope that everyone can come.
  7. Anyone have the final score on the game tonight?
  8. Is the 3 to 1 score for riverdale and oakland an actual final score or a prediction? Also, has anyone got the final score on lebanon and white county? I am trying to get the tournament brackets finished before the coaches' meeting tomorrow morning and help is appreciated. Thanks, Coach Hamilton
  9. First round games will be Monday (5/10) at the home sites of the top four seeds. The semi-finals will be Tuesday at 6:00 and 8:00 with a rain make up day on Wednesday and the Final will be Thursday at 7:00 with a rain make up date on Friday. The semi's and final are at Warren County.
  10. Coach, Right now Oakland is 1 - 2 - 3 which gives them 6 points. Things can change once you all play White County and Riverdale and Oakland play tomorrow. Good luck and see you Saturday.
  11. nil - nil Pushes Siegel from the number 3 seed to number 4 and pulls Cookeville up from the number 4 seed to the number 3 seed. Puts Lebanon at the number 6 seed and pushes Oakland back to the number 7 seed. Still waiting for everyone to finish though.
  12. Depends on your district's by-laws which are agreed upon by your coaches. In District 7 AAA, ties are settled by the following: 1. Head-to-head 2. Highest seeded common opponent down to lowest 3. Goal differential not to exceed 3 per game 4. Coin toss Good luck!
  13. Hey guys, we had a fun time last night in the game against McCallie. We have just come off a blistering 4 game district stretch in which we were emotionally drained and had two starters sitting out and one of our reserve forwards sitting out. Not taking anything away from McCallie because they are a good team and great sports. I really enjoyed meeting them and their coach is very cordial. The game game gave me a chance to play some young players who have not gotten to play at all in the last 4 games or very little and to let some of the older guys play in positions that they never get a chance to play in. Sorry, for the condition of the field. It was killed off by an overspray of weed poison earlier in the year and we have been working to fix that problem as best as we could while season is going on. We met with a field and turf expert from Nashville today and have plans to redo the field after the season. However, the field is not short - 110 yards long and it is not too narrow - 75 yards wide. It is an optical illusion that it appears to be a short and narrow field. Believe me, looking at it I understand what you are seeing however, I have actually measured the field when we line it off and it is a 75 by 110 yard long field. Good luck to McCallie on the rest of your season and again, my apologies if the experience you had at Warren County was negative. Cordially, Head Coach Keith Hamilton Warren County
  14. nickforte4261, here is the best response that I can give you. Believe me, I feel your pain. From the State's Bylaws here is what it says, ... Conduct of Students Section 16. A student who uses insulting or profane language or who is guilty of foul tactics, in addition to being disqualified by the referee shall be subject to such additional penalties as the Board of Control or Executive Director may deem best. Technically, the language is written so vague as to leave any situation up for interpretation by TSSAA. The way it looks is that they have the discretion to decide if it is a one game or two game suspension or even worse. Good luck!
  15. Red Card should only be the one game suspension unless you were considered a physical threat to someone or some other fairly significant incident was involved.
  16. Our game, as well as those of a lot of other people, was rained out today and I am looking for a replacement game. We can play this Saturday (4/17), or either of the two following Saturdays (4/24 & 5/1). I am looking for both a JV and Varsity game. If interested, contact me. 17. Chazz & Jeff, Have you guys responded to AB about a JV tournament for here?
  18. Pope John Paul II - 4 Warren County - 2 We had 18 shots on goal to their 8 and 3 corner kicks to their 1. Out possessed and outplayed, but did a terrible job of transitioning to defense and our shots were not good selection, had nothing on them, or were terribly placed. They did a much better job up top with their forward (#9) creating attacking runs and their shot selection was better. We got a terrible PK call 10 minutes into the game that put us back on our heals and it took us another 22 minutes to recover. T.J. got a goal at the 32 minute mark with an assist from Alex and then Totsuro followed that up with a goal at the 34 minute mark to put us ahead with another assist from Alex. However, PJPII rallied with two goals of their own before half time when our keeper misplayed a ball and bobbled it into our own goal and then they had a break away. They punched in a fourth goal later in the second half. We had several build ups for scoring opportunities in the second half, but our mid-fielders held on to the ball too long and lost possession before we had a chance to pull the trigger. This was by far one of our worst outings. Giving credit where credit is due, PJPII is a very skillful and well coached team and I wish them all good success this season. They are very hospitable people and I don't know why they are having trouble getting teams to schedule them for games. I hope that changes for them because they have the best field that we have played on this year and a good coach. Good Luck! Coach Hamilton Warren County

  22. Mike, you can get just as snippy as you want to get. That is a typcial reaction from the elitest from Tullahoma that get called on the carpet when they get caught telling an untruth. That is part of the problem that I have fought for years with people like yourself associated with the School System in Tullahoma and while I served as an Alderman on the City Board for Tullahoma. Yes, I am glad (feel better) that at least you for one are willing to admit that you made a faux pax and are willing to correct it even though you did not do so in an appropriate manner. Everyone can make mistakes and everyone can say things that have the wrong information in them from time to time. When corrected, just be a gentleman enough to say I stand corrected and move on without the snide remarks. Now, are you also willing to admit that Tullahoma's sports programs including soccer over the years have greatly benefited from students not from Tullahoma and paying tuition to go there? Maybe we can get one more truth out of you before this discussion is over.
  23. Couple of corrections about Tullahoma and these are not meant to be criticisms but to provide a clearer and more accurate picture of reality. First, Mike McGee, Jenny Sanders went to Clemson to play soccer but did not get hardly any playing time so for her Senior year she quit soccer and tried out for cheerleading and is now one of Clemson's cheerleaders. That is not a slam on her athletic ability or her ablility as a soccer player. She was great player in High School and I have the deepest respect for Jenny. Secondly, to classify Tullahoma High School as a typical rural High School is misleading. Tullahoma is not typical of other small towns in Tennessee. Of the 1100 students who attend Tullahoma High School, more than 220 of them are not from Tullahoma. Those 220 students are from other communities and they come to Tullahoma and pay tuition to go to Tullahoma's High School. Most of those non-resident students come from Franklin County with the remainder coming from Coffee County, Moore County, Bedford County, and even a few from Lincoln and Rutherford Counties. The second year that Tullahoma went to the Final Four, there were at least 6 girls on that team that were not from Tullahoma but were paying tuition to go to Tullahoma's High School and bypassing other school districts to do so. Under those circumstances to compare Tullahoma's situation to that of other small towns in Tennessee and say that they represent small town Tennessee is misleading. That coupled with the Air Force base that is constantly bringing in new people makes Tullahoma's recruiting pool for soccer significantly higher than what other small communities face. This may be the reason why there are some rumblings about realigning the districts and placing Tullahoma with schools that are urban since they fit that pattern better than being placed with the rural schools. Sorry if this information offends anyone, but Tullahoma is definitely not your typical small town in Tennessee.
  24. Hendersonville 2 and Tullahoma 1. Bummer ... Congratulations Comandoes and good luck!
