  1. Final district results. 1. Cookeville (Congratulations to Coach Kelly and the Cavaliers) 2. Blackman 3. Warren County 4. Siegel 5. Riverdale 6. Lebanon 7. Oakland 8. White County I wish everyone good luck in the tournament next week. Also, I would like to encourage everyone to come out as there will certainly be some very good games.
  2. No one gave Oakland a chance against Blackman four years ago when Blackman was the front runner at that time. However, on the last game of the season Blackman had to come from behind to tie Oakland and their tie gave Warren County the regular season district title. Can it happen? Anything is possible when it gets to the end of the season and tournament time. We will know where everything stands after Tuesday as long as the weather does not prevent any of the games from getting played. I don't know if Tullahoma was having an off game but from what I saw last night, Siegel outplayed them and should have gotten the win. Could district 7 AAA sweep the Regionals? It is very possible. However, there is a lot to go through before we even get close to that point. The District 7 AAA tournament should be a very competitive tournament this year. The six top teams should make for great games to watch and any of them could step up at tournament time. Lebanon is a threat and should not be overlooked by anyone. They are capable of playing with a lot of emotion and intensity which on the right night could lead to an upset. Even though Riverdale is down this year, never count Coach Arman out at tournament time. He has a way of getting the competitiveness out of his guys at tournament time. When everything is said and done, whoever the top two teams are that come out of District 7 AAA they will have been through some battles to get there. I do not believe this to be true of District 8 AAA from what I have seen. Once you get past Tullahoma and Shelbyville, the rest of the teams are not very strong or competitive. They should not have as hard of a time or as physical of games as the District 7 teams will have. Anyway, let the games begin .....
  3. The first round of the Tournament will be on Monday, May 7 at the home sites of the top four seeds. Right now, it is Lebanon's turn to host the rest of the tournament. However, they don't have lights on the rec fields that they play on so I don't know if the coaches are going to discuss moving the tournament to another location at the Coaches' meeting. I went to the last part of the Siegel and Franklin game in Tullahoma tonight. Siegel looked very good in a 2 to 1 win for them. It was great to see the coaches after the game and the guys. Wish them luck in the rest of their season. Hope to get out to the district tournament. If you see me at the tournament, please be sure to come up and introduce yourself.
  4. I don't understand how a "fight" could break out and only the players from one team get a red card. Unless the Livingston Academy players were fighting each other. Anyway, sorry this all happened. I don't understand how a "fight" could break out and only the players from one team get a red card. Unless the Livingston Academy players were fighting each other. 5. This is ridiculous if true. I was not at the game last night as I had been out of town all week and had too much to do at home. We have always had a good relationship with Livingston Academy and I hope that we can continue to have one at least with the girls. This is regretable and I am sorry that this kind of thing could possibly happen. Who got the red cards and what were they for?
  6. White County opted out of playing regular season district games two years ago. They play Warren County regular season as a "friendly" and the game does not count in the regular season standings. They agreed with the coaches of district 7 AAA to accept last place and concede a regular season loss to each team in the district standings. That is why each of the teams have an extra win counted towards them even though they have not played that extra district game. They still play in the district tournament and their players are still eligible for district honors as they are still considered a part of the district by TSSAA.
  7. I do need a home game for the girl's season this Fall in the second week of September if you or anyone else has an opening, then contact me. But to answer your question -- No, ref talk. However, thanks for asking.
  8. I will try again. I am not a Plus Member so I am not allowed to use the message feature. Please contact me: penaltycats@cafes.net Thanks, Coach Hamilton
  9. Good morning to you also and thanks. I needed to call Pepe anyway about the camp this July so now I will have another excuse to talk to him. Great suggestion and I appreciate it.
  10. I was hoping to get some young guy with a lot of energy and enthusiasm. Come back in about four years -- thanks for the offer and good luck.
  11. I have resigned from coaching the boy's team with Warren County and that position is now open and posted for interested parties. I would personally like to see someone with soccer experience get that position rather than the school system pick out someone simply because they are a teacher but do not have any soccer knowledge or experience. The school system has openings in several different certification areas for teachers. If you are interested or know of anyone who is interested in teaching with the Warren County School System and coaching the boy's, then they should contact Roy Pierce with the Warren County School System. http://www.warrenschools.com/ Thanks, Coach Hamilton ps: Yes, I am still coaching the girls this Fall.
  12. Thursday 4/14 Warren County 5 and White County 1
  13. Hey guys ... post scores here. I know that Cookeville and Oakland played tonight and that siegel and White County played tonight. So what were the scores? Thanks ahead of time. Also, other team scores from the district. Please ....
  14. What time is the game? CST --- please.
  15. It was not just one or two coaches making this decission. Coach Ken (FRA) and I had already talked that morning before we played our first game and said that we would probably just like to play the first game and go home. We both had too many players who were beat up and injured from the first game. The last person we had playing forward for us was injured in the first half of the game against Tullahoma and was not able to go any further. We had a very tough game against CCS the night before and the gym smelled like an Icy Hot factory the next day. With us getting ready to head into our district stretch, I was not going to risk any further injury to my players. I told them that I did not care if we won or lost against Tullahoma that the game did not matter, just to be careful and not get any further injuries. That was the sentiments of the other coach as well. I was joking with Coach Mc. during their shootout with Notre Dame and I said "Ken, it looks like you guys are going to be staying and playing the last game after all." He said, "No, he had three injured guys and was going home anyway." The fields were just dangerous to play on. I told Cal (CCS girl's coach) that I was sorry for the mess we made of his fields. It will take them a long time to recover and will probably not be right for the rest of the boy's season. This is just this coach's explanation on why we (Warren County) went home early. For anyone to imply or suggest that one team or another did not have what it takes (whatever that might mean) to play the last game is just wrong. The concern for the players' safety and well being was and is the first priority.
  16. A ref told me that the game got canceled because of the rain??? Maybe someone knows something different.
  17. This was an excellent game for us. Soddy Daisy is a great team and I believe they will do good things this season. They have a very talented and mature squad and play a strong heads up game. You can tell that they have been well coached. It was my first experience with their coaches and they are both class acts. It was a great game for us and I appreciated their hospitality. Good luck on your season. Coach Hamilton Warren County
