  1. Shut Up! Quit Whining! It was the worst loss in Tornado history! UC's lack of tough kids is what is wrong. They need to be called out!
  2. A star huh. Did Mike Hutchins call you that? Being that I played for UC as well, I should know you. Give me a clue!
  3. The community and students developed the apathetic Single A Mentality of "our school is too small to play tough, hard-nosed football!"
  4. Who is UCDIDITAGAIN? He obviously plays for UC! Does he know that he may want to keep his mouth shut since he plays for UC and people and thier coaching staff knows it? This probably isn't a good idea for UCDIDITAGAIN!
  5. I know that coaching staffs of 5 or less struggle in some single A programs, much less a program with only 2 coaches. Does Greenfield not feel like they owe their kids more than that? It is this simple, you can't do it with two. Heck, you can't coach baseball with two very easily! Greenfield administrators need to quit making the small town excuses. As much money as the anal retentive police force makes the city of Greenfield each week off of out-of-towners' speeding tickets, they could pay 10 coaches! Their football program is not very good and their speed limit is nothing but a trap! Real great place to live--I'll settle for a McDonald's burger anyday!!
  6. Does Greenfield really only have 2 coaches? Please fill me in!
  7. I've got the solution for Weakley Co's small school football programs--If you want to win, GO TO WESTVIEW!!! Common sense tells you that Charger High is no more than 10-15 minutes from most anywhere in Weakly County.
  8. Trust me, it is not the success that they get bad mouthed for since their history indicates very few winning seasons in comparison to how long their programs have been around! I have met many a cocky Greenfield athlete who had a losing record!
  9. Butchie, P & G Standard knows about Greenfield, but he is being very sarcastic! What he is getting at is that he is used to going to big footabll games and intense football venues because UC used to be in big football games during the 90's! Greenfield is not where a UC fan would go for a big football game or an exciting venue! It could very possibly be the last place a fan would go for those reasons. When you are used to playing Milan and Huntingdon in the 4th round of the playoffs in front of sell-out crowds, Greenfield is kind of a buzz kill! But, you are extremely right about one thing, most UC fans at the football games care more about the band than they do the game itself. How embarrassing!
  10. What people are referring to when they say that UC is not what they used to be is that the competitive nature that UC has always brought to the field is lacking and that results in lay-down losses-They seem to be piling up! To say that UC is a single A school and is doing well for single A is a cop out!! I remember when UC used to pound Bruceton in pre-season scrimmages-I mean not even close, and now UC has lost 2 in a row to Bruceton!?!?! Who cares that UC beat the heck out of South Fulton! Even though UC is in a single A region, they ought to be measuring their success on quality double A games. Dresden doesn't count! Prediction-- UC will eventually be back in double A--what excuse are the fans/players going to use then when they can't win region games! Just because numbers dictate classification, numbers don't dictate mentality and UC's community mentality is single A, single A, single A.....! It's alright to get pounded by Westview-We're single A now!! Trousdale County and Milan have both stepped up in the past and been successful in classifications that were bigger than their schools! JCS is having a great year and they just stepped up from single A into the best double A region in the state and they are having success! Why? Because they haven't developed a single A mentality like that of the UC community! The old purple helmets and purple uniforms used to make opponents cringe! Coming from where UC came from, it's hard to get up for the Greenfield game! It's easy to have confidence and play hard when you know you are going to pound someone!
  11. I want to chime in on behalf of Jordan. The kid is good, but he is not Division 1 material. People of West TN, though very friendly and kind, are very sheltered in the real world of sports. Many think that if someone is good in West TN then dog-gonnit they can play, not only at the next level, but D1! (Baseball and Basketball included) The kid can run over single A defenses, but he, like most other West TN single A athletes, couldn't run over a Florida Gator defense nor have the speed to run around them! There are exceptions such as Patrick Willis and so on, but for the most part, I feel that this is consistent around the board. He is better suited for D2 or maybe D1AA. West TN is not the only place in America where kids are good or even great at sports!
