  1. No Surprise. He was the choice of the princaple
  2. Congratulations to Coach Shinliver and good luck.
  3. The community does not want the Loudon HC. I do not know who you are talking to in the community, but they do not want someone from outside. That is why Cummings backed out. He knew that as soon as something went wrong with a parent or a loss that the heat would come from the boosters because they did not want someone from West. The O-line coach has the support of the teaching staff, players, boosters club, Alumni, parents, and community. Coach Findley has been there for 15 years. He played for Coach Young and also coached for Coach Young. He is prepared for the head job. He will be able to put a staff together. People in the Bearden community know him. It is between Findley and Shinliver. If the principle thinks that the Bearden community will support the Loudon HC, there is a failure to communicate. If the Loudon HC is hired Bearden football is headed back to the Leadford years.
  4. Scott will take the job unless he talks to someone about how much pressure there is to win. How parents and boosters will go straight to the top if you do anything they can complain about. Ask Steve Prince. The field house is nice, but parents and boosters did not put much of that together. It was some real old Bearden money that could care less who somebody is, or what their record is. Just ask Ron Grey. He had a financial package from the boosters to match the OR job, but then he saw how easy it was for him to get boosters, parents, assistant coaches, administration, players and everyone else against the HC at the time. He figured out real quick that the same thing could happen to him even if he had some good teams. Check or ask people connected at Bearden before you leave your dear old West High. BHS is not the job everyone thinks it is. It takes someone from Bearden to put the time, effort, and fortitude to deal with it, much less put a winner on the field.
  5. Correct about the committee. Principle would love to hire a guy from West. Would be a slap in the face to all the old Bearden people. But all the old Bearden people are now the new West people? Just really matters how much Scott likes that fieldhouse and if he can stand to be run off by the new Bearden people. Principle would really like to hire the Loudon HC, but Scott would be a better sell with his record at West. Loudon guy would work, but Scott would be better. Kind of like if the Vandy coach came to UT. cAn yOu fIGuRe iT oUt
  6. Here is the scoop at BHS. Scotty from West is #1. He likes the fieldhouse and thinks he can get some of that big W. Knox money. Principle can sell him to the press. Scott must have gone back on his saying that he has stuck with West through thick and thin when West was down and out. Where is the loyality to good ole West High. Bearden people will eat him alive. Maybe he thinks all of this talent that West has had is drying up. He has rode the best talent in Knox Co. for over 15 years, and now he wants to get the payoff at BHS. Or maybe he is just trying to get more money out of the new West money, which used to be the old Bearden money, thanks to Dan Murphy and Karen Carson. #2 is Loudon HC. Principle can sell him since Powell has hired Allen. Can Loudon HC take the heat when all the players decide to play something else, go somewhere else, or just not play and he puts up the same results as he has the past few years?
  7. heard that the names are, (if you can figure out who is ligit or just a tall tale), George, Sweet, Kevin, Scott, (which one), HC@LHS, some guy that used to be @WB& Cath, Rusty,(he did play @BHS), Ogle, Derick,(just for fun), Ham, Fitz, Pemberton,(heard he likes the fieldhouse), & who ever else the coachter's might not know or think about. Hope someone can figure the BHS job out, it is getting late and spring practice is near. By the way any news on Carter, Central,& Powell. It is getting late for those teams also.
  8. Heard that the committee has had a lot of names brought up. It all comes down to how much power the principle has. It true that he probably the principle wants Harig. But can they both put up with the backlash from the heat that will come down if Harig does not produce a winner or even a competitive team.
  9. I think that this topic needs to be shut down
  10. I really don't think that anyone on this topic is really concerned about Loudon's HC leaving to go to Bearden, so I think that it needs to be shut down. I think that the HC will not be going to Bearden anyway. It was just a rumor started by someone on the 5A/6A boards. No Loudon posters have posted yes or no, so either their is no truth to HC leaving for Bearden, or no one in Loudon cares. Let the Bearden people debate it on their own thread if they even have a thread or if anyone at Bearden cares.
  11. Seems no one at Loudon is talking much about their HC leaving to take the Bearden HC position. Maybe it is not a sure thing like some people have said on the T. What about Hamontree @ Heritage. He has applied @ other Knoxville schools?
  12. It is really entertaining to hear you OR, Alcoa, and other debaters talk about old times, but does anyone really know what is going on about the HC leaving Loudon?
  13. Will the principle be the only one making the decision. Does he have that much power @ Bearden? What about the parents/boosters club or other people that want a say in the decision. Will the principle be able to pull this off? Should Loudon get prepared to loose their HC, and go through the process of starting new with a different HC.
  14. When does the coach from Loudon start at Bearden. Who will he retain on the current staff. Who will he bring from Loudon and who stays at Loudon to take the Loudon HC job?
  15. Are you saying that Loudon's HC is or is not going to Bearden. You all seem to think that the talent is gone in Loudon. QB#7 was sure he was a lock at Bearden!
  16. Could Coach Woods be going to Loudon after Loudon's coach goes to Knox Bearden? Seems it would benefit both schools to get things changed quickly so staffs could be hired, get started in the weight room, and prepare for spring practice.
  17. With the word on the T that the Bearden job is the Loudon HCs to turn down, who will be in line, or who will be interested in the Loudon HC job.
  18. What is their future now? Jellico maybe? Karma is really going to suck when things get back to normal at CC and the district.
  19. How do you read the DUI report, sounds interesting
  20. I am not refering to what happened at OR when Coach Stevens or Coach Blade were hired You have to look back at many years before he was at Catholic and what happened when he was on the staff at OR with Coach Lussier. He was on two other staffs and the old OR stuff and some of his other past that he did is still hanging over him. You all are just looking on the surface.
  21. I will have to go back on my statement that I will not say anymore about Ron Gray. Your key statement allregion is about the way things were handled in the past by him, not with him. Some things you do as a coach in the past will have a direct effect on you in the future. The word gets out and people know what has happened when they start checking out the past.
  22. Some of you people commenting really need to check your facts and opinions with some people that really know what is going on. Ask yourself why he is teaching at OR, and not on the coaching staff. That is all I will say about Ron Gray.
