  1. I assume the comment about the bad officiating means the calls were bad for both teams. Great game...bad ending for McCallie. Penalties, Kicking game, and a few dropped passes prevented McCallie from getting the win. I know I am biased, but I thought McCallie was the better team overall (at least tonight). But the best player was MBA's Ty Chandler. McCallie had no answer for him.
  2. Not sure how McCallie also playing Red Bank is relevant to my original post regarding Baylor and BA, but that's OK. I gave Baylor credit for going to Nashville and beating Ensworth and also posting a W against Rhea County. We'll obviously learn a lot more about both DII-AA Chattanooga teams a little later on tonight.
  3. Happy for two things this year ... game is being played at McCallie and McCallie gets MBA earlier in the season. Should be a real competitive game and not really sure if there is a favorite. McCallie is just 2-2 but could easily be 4-0 at this point. MBA is good as their record shows. Hope for a great game, an injury-free game, and a Blue Tornado victory which will not come easily.
  4. Should be a great game and so should the MBA-McCallie game. Baylor has surprised this year so far although two of their opponents (Red Bank & Howard) are very weak football teams. Since the game is at Baylor, I gotta think it will be close, but BA pulls it out in the end.
  5. According to an article in the Gwinett paper the game does count, but I have yet to see anything from McCallie.....I thought the game was cancelled with no winner.
  6. Game was cancelled at the half due to dangerous weather. McCallie was not impressive on either side of the ball in the first half. Way too many penalties...mostly for false starts on offense and neutral zone on defense. The Blue Tornado probably had 10 penalties in the first half. McCallie also had no answer for the Parkview QB. He was super quick and danced through the McCallie defense almost at will in the second quarter. Craig (the McCallie QB) had a problem holding onto the football and was out of sync with his center on snaps. Didn't get to see much of the new RB Brooks. But McCallie is going to really miss Alex Trotter this year. So, in a half, McCallie looked undisciplined and out-of-sorts. Parkview was huge with an OL that looked like they could play in the SEC (size-wise at least).
  7. It was great to see Rhea County agree to play Baylor. They stepped up to the plate.
  8. Don't know enough about either team to predict, but I am going to the game hoping to see a McCallie win. Anxious to see how Xavier Brooks does at running back in place of the irreplaceable Alex Trotter.
  9. McCallie really needed to play a complete game last night and they were far from "on." But all credit goes to MBA who played very well. Losing Silverblatt took away a big part of what McCallie does. 44 for MBA was a Mack Truck. Someone needed to pop him a few times but McCallie could barely get him down. He is a difference maker. Enjoyed watching the Blur Tornado this year. Nice to see them competitive again. And really nice to end the Baylor win streak. Just wondering who is going to replace Alex Trotter next year. Classy young man and one heck of a running back.
  10. Haven't seen MUS, Briarcrest, or Christian Brothers this year. But, I have seen McCallie, Baylor, Brentwood Academy, Ensworth, and MBA. As much as I would like to say McCallie will play in, and maybe win the Championship game, their defense just won't let me go there. I see Ensworth, Baylor, Brentwood Academy, and MBA moving on with Baylor being the beneficiary of a lower seed but better matchup. In the finals, it will be Ensworth and MBA and MBA will emerge the winner. But, in my heart, McCallie all the way. And, welcome back BlueMom.
  11. Have no idea......so many variables. McCallie going on the road after three home games but also having a badly needed bye week. Don't know much about Father Ryan. But based on common opponents and McCallie being rested, I think McCallie will win in a close game 38-34.
  12. Ralph wants every game...and I really think he wanted wins against Ensworth and Baylor much more than he cared about a win against BA. Just my opinion of course. McCallie had Bowling Green, Ensworth, and Baylor back-to-back-to back and went 3-0. Hard to get up for four really good teams in four weeks. Not sure who would win a McCallie-Ensworth, McCallie-Baylor, or McCallie BA rematch, but I'd take my chances predicting McCallie in every one of those games. Of course, any of those teams could beat McCallie as well. It is why they play the game and it is great to see some real competition this year. BA's lines scare me though. That's where the games are won or lost.
  13. Luckily we were out of town and missed this game. Never, in a million years would I have believed BA would beat McCallie like they did. And I am darn glad I did not have to watch. Congratulations to Brentwood Academy. McCallie did play three incredible games in a row, and while it is no excuse, they were due for a letdown especially after the super-high of beating Baylor after a long drought. Very happy the Blue Tornado have a week off - much needed.
  14. McCallie is vastly improved on defense - not great by any means, but much improved since they played JPII. BA will score some points - the question is, will they outscore McCallie's crazy good offense? Since it's a home game for the blue tornado, I say no. BA 27 McCallie 41
  15. Really thought Baylor would play better and give McCallie a hard time with their passing game. Having a shut-down corner in Edmonds really helps McCallie shrink the field. Their pass defense is getting better.
  16. Just for the record, it is not "The Tornadoes." It is The Blue Tornado in both the singular and plural version. And The Blue Tornado and Brentwood Academy will be a great and close game. My prediction is McCallie by a touchdown.
  17. Really do not care about the score - will take a McCallie win by 1 point or twenty. After watching the Ensworth game last night, It would be diffiicult to predict a Baylor win. But, this series is unpredictable and you can throw out the results-to-date. Looking forward to an electric atmosphere as the game is played st Spears Stadium for the first time since I have been associated with McCallie.
  18. I must say I did not see that result coming. McCallie played as well as they could have and Ensworth was not at the top of their game. They play ten times and Ensworth would probably win 6 of them. But this one is the game that counts (for now). That was a very, very enjoyable game to watch (for a change).
  19. RP calling plays but for a totally different set of players which makes a difference. Has to be good enough to give McCallie at least a 15% chance of squeaking out a win.
  20. Well, at least you got the 21+ point spread prediction correct...1 out of 2 isn't bad.
  21. Maybe, but I doubt it. Ensworth may win the game but it will be less than double digits. I give McCallie a decent (40%) chance to win. We'll see tommorrow.
  22. Actually it is six wins...and it's the Blue Tornado. But, you are right about the next five games being difficult.
  23. Looking forward to a hopefully competitive game (for a change). Ensworth is good as always and McCallie is better than normal. Hopefully Trotter will run wild..........Blue needs a win in this series but it will be tough to come by. Cannot wait until Friday.
  24. And yet Baylor is still a few years behind the McCallie win streak.
