  1. purple and gold, you are so correct. hopefully we'll have a field goal kicker next year. it has hurt us this year in many games.
  2. raynoc, i think that you're right. whoever comes out of district 14 single a has a good chance of taking it all. history shows that to us. it's one of the best girls basketball districts in the state.
  3. who do yall think is the best pure shooter in w. tn? i'm not talking about scorer, but shooter. i think greenfield has two fellas that you need to watch. reggie mchaney, a senior, and wes clark, a freshman.
  4. i'd say that derrick carr, qb, from mckenzie is a true d-1 prospect. chad jordan from mckenzie is a possible d-1. greenfield has two jr.'s that could develop into d-1 prospects, and they are getting noticed. chase mcmullen is one of them. he's a 6'2" 235 lb. fullback-linebacker who can move. the other one is daniel ricketts....a 6'3" jumper with speed who has great hands and great concentration. what do yall think?
  5. both defenses played very well last nite in bruceton. greenfield drove inside the 20 on the very first drive, but could not get it into the end zone. we also had the ball inside the 20 a couple of other times after turnovers, but could not get it into the end zone. bruceton got one of thier scores off of a turnover from us. and, greenfield had a chance at the end, but could not get the onside kick....then, we could not stop jordan running the ball....ran the time out. next year, watch out for greenfield. we only lose 4 seniors. chase mcmullen and daniel ricketts will be back for their senior years. and, we have a lot of big, sophomore linemen.
  6. congrats, bruceton. yall came away with a close one....14-6. i really thought that greenfield was gonna pull this one off after the first half.
  7. who is the best d-1 prospect in west tn? after him, who is next? do you know where they're going to college?
  8. how big are some of those big guys that yall are mentioning? are there any big guys in memphis? in w. tn?
  9. lets talk about the big guys for a while. who is the best big man in the state? how big is he? let's not even mention someone unless they're at least 6'8".....what do yall think? or, are there any good big guys in the state?
  10. mckenzie and union city should both be in 2a. it's really a shame that they're in single a. no disrespect intended towards anyone here, but it would be a shame if union city and mckenzie didnt dominate single a with all the students they have and the coaches they have. i bet mckenzie and u.c. outnumber every true single a team they play at least 2 to 1, if not 3 to 1, in the amount of players yall have. and, you have at least double the coaches. i truly hope yall go to 2a next year.
  11. union city and mckenzie are single a right now. they ought to be 2a, but they're not. on most friday nites i'd guess that u.c. and mckenzie outnumber thier opponents at least 2 to 1 in terms of players. and, they'll have 5 or 6 coaches compared to 2 or 3 for the single a teams they face.
  12. who do yall think the rainy weather will favor? or, will it make any difference at all? i think it will be a close game no matter what. greenfield could very well win this game....especially since we're not playing what should be double a teams like u.c. and mckenzie. mckenzie should definitely be in double a. a school that size should not be playing single a ball. if they did play double a ball in w. tn, then they would find the going much, much tougher.
  13. what do yall see greenfield doing this year? they only have 1 senior and 2 juniors.
  14. greenfield has an inside and outside game this year. the coach has been in place for a year now...this is his second year to be in greenfield. so, the players know his system. the bench is deeper this year. greenfield has four seniors starting. this really could be a good year for greenfield. of course, u.c. is always good. humboldt is good. trenton is good. lake county has an excellent coach in whitby, and they have talent. but, i believe that greenfield will be much improved this year. they may not get in front of the crowd i just mentioned, but i believe that they'll be pushing and shoving these teams this year to come in right behind them. also, larry eddings has things happening in bradford. he's an excellent coach. they may surprise some people.
  15. greenfield can win against bruceton...if...if they dont make mistakes. in fact, the jackets running game and passing attack could prove to be too much for bruceton to defense. stopping jordan will definitely be a challenge for the jackets. i think they'll slow him down enough to pull out the victory. the jackets are hungry to get back into the playoffs.
  16. who is the best team in dist. 14? who do you think will actually win it? who will be the team to advance the farthest in the tourney? who is the worst team? who is the best player? etc.
  17. who has the best team in region 7a district 14? who will actually win it? who has the best opportunity to advance beyond the regional? who is the best player? etc.
  18. i was at the greenfield game last nite. i came away feeling that greenfield should have won that game. greenfield was inside the five yard line twice and came up empty. after all the talk about union city beating greenfield by 30 and 40, really greenfield should have won that game. u.c. outnumbered greenfield by 3 to 1 in terms of players. yet, the smaller school should have won this game. the jackets just missed an opportunity or two. hats off to jason rodehaver, the greenfield coach. he has done a tremendous job at greenfield. also, if you missed the two unbelievable catches by daniel ricketts....then you missed a gem. those are the kind of catches they make on sunday afternoons in a place called the nfl.
