  1. Congrats to Region 1 5A!!! They split the 1st round (both 1 and 2 seeds advancing) and then both #1s advanced and now there is one team left. The team that is left has outscored their opponent 94-14 in three games and has yet to give up over 100 rushing. Congrats Bulldogs! 2 more games to make your dream season a reality
  2. I have not seen Smyrna this year but understand they have a QB that is smart and has an accurate and strong arm and athletes all over the field and good speed. I have seen Bearden several times and they have very good speed on defense and they fly to the ball and gang tackle. They have a very poised QB and a TB that is undersized but gets everything he can out of every run. Both the OL and DL are probably their strengths, they can run and are strong and have good feet. But, Smyrna is the defending champs and for Bearden to get there they will have to beat the Champs. I think the winner is the favorite to win it all and hold up the gold ball and get the ring. (no offense to Millington or Indy) Cant pick a score but seems like Smyrna's Offense against a stingy defense from Bearden. NO injuries and have a great game to both teams
  3. You might want to include Bearden in the category of teams that dominated them and not in the category of teams that beat them in the last minute
  4. I just wanted to say thanks for the compliment Owlfanatic. I didnt notice the socks but I was concerned with your team and #36 (DE) is a stud and is going to cause A LOT of problems for offenses in 2-5A for the next couple of years. Hope we play the same way against William Blount and hope you enjoyed the trip to West Knoxville (besides the game). I am sure you all will bounce back next year.
  5. It is free to park and not sure if tickets are $7 or $8 this week. They were $7 last week. It will be a physical hard fought game. 2 teams with very good defenses and good speed on both sides of the ball. It could come down to a field goal or an extra point or some other play on special teams. Good luck to both teams, play hard, injury free, BHS 17 WB 15. Might be the best match up in round 2 of any classification. Just a reminder for WB fans Bearden only has bleachers on one side so it might fill up quick (i know its been a while since WB was at BHS).
  6. Have not seen the Owls play but have seen Bearden play a couple of times. I am sure the Owls have a lot of talent and athletic ability but so does Bearden. I dont think it will be very high scoring. Lets say......Dogs 17 Owls 13 (also more of a guess since i havent seen the Owls) Good luck to both teams
  7. No disrespect to the Patriots, but I think Farragut wins this one by at least 20. Jeff Co. has improved a lot this year and I think that is great for high school football in east tennessee in general but they gave up over 200 to the Bearden tailback and now they get to go against Sterling, probably the best RB in the state IMO.
  8. Just my opinion but Maryville wins by 2 or 3 touchdowns. I have seen Maryville play twice this year and if it is a down year then all east tn teams are in trouble in the future. I have seen Halls play once and that was against Bearden and they were basically shut down until Bearden subbed and Kitts got along run late in the 4th qtr. I think Halls has improved and can make noise in the playoffs but I dont think they can stay with the rebels
  9. i saw them play against Bearden. First Half it seemed like Bearden was sleep walking ( homecoming, bye week, etc) Bearden shut them down in the second half. It seemed to me that CCHS did everything right and Bearden really was just there to get thru it until the second half. CCHS plays hard and wont quit but I think DB has to many athletes for CCHS to compete. Will hang around but DB beats them by 13 or 14
  10. I believe those will be the final standings. Bearden beats Sevier Co. Friday night and they lock up #1 and DB has one loss (dont think they will lose again). The thing I dont want is for Region 2-5A to sweep us out of the playoffs in the first round. Looks like it will be Oak Ridge, Farragut, Billy Blount and the owls in some kind of order (Farragut controls their own destiny i think). so does OR, Farragut, WB, Owls look better than Campbell Co, Jeff Co, DB and Bearden???
  11. This might be a rumor but I heard that a member of a region school likes the Science Hill job. Lets say he did a very good job against the toppers offense
  12. I am pretty sure DB and CCHS traded film just like every team in the region does. After seeing both of these teams close up I would say DB has the edge. CCHS plays hard and doesnt lay down but DB has to many athletes in to many positions. Especially now that the freshaman is playing. Hope both teams play well. What scares me is a region 2-5A sweep in the first round of the playoffs. GO 1-5A
  13. Sensabaugh will win the region??? Not to be rude or barge in on a conversation about science hill but doesnt Bearden need to lose twice for sensabaugh to win the region?
  14. What are the thoughts on this game? I believe (if I have looked at the region records correctly) Bearden can lock up the number 1 seed in 1-5A with a win. Had a friend go to the Sevier Co v Jefferson Co game and he said that Sevier played with a lot of heart and fight. Also know that this is never an easy game for Bearden. Just curious to hear what everyone thinks.
