Yeah the refs was calling some of it but they should have went to the coach and said, ENOUGH, at that point ,they should have started tossing them, Wonder this didn't turn out MUCH worse.
They did stop play and warn both sides in the first quarter if I’m not mistaken.

Riddle me this @crowman there were only 12 games last night so the very best officials that TSSAA has SHOULD have been working these games. Can you imagine the mayhem that would/could have occurred if less seasoned TSSAA officials had been manning the whistles?
If this had been a random Friday night in September it would have been an absolute nightmare. I understand people want someone to blame and they want to blame the officials but I believe they did a pretty good job considering what they were dealing with.

I agree I always stand somewhere else. Just a bad situation and given last night I’m impressed it didn’t spill over into the stands. At least not that I’ve heard about anyway.

Wasn’t there, but watching NFHS and I think the ejections came from the fight. All three players were throwing dukes.
I watched it live but honestly didn’t go back to rewatch. By the time that crap storm was over I’d had all I wanted of it.

Are the ejected ER players (if there are any) excluded from the State Championship game?
Yes the one lineman cannot participate next weekend.

Question for anyone that knows. We’re all 3 of the ejections because of what each player did during the second fight as in threw a punch or something similar or were any of the 3 due to a second unsportsmanlike penalty? Just curious if maybe 1 or more of the 3 tossed were just mouthing or taunting and got a second one and that maybe all 3 weren’t throwing hands or something like that. Jus wondering, might make a difference if/when the TSSAA hammer falls.

Just a bad situation tonight. Lots of blame to be shared by several folks. Hate to see it anytime but in the semifinals it gets even more attention.

No I didn’t post a word about that except when others started talking about it I said I wasn’t upset about it because I expected that sort of thing from York. Good, bad or otherwise that sort of thing and what I saw tonight is just what I expect to see. I have expected it for years, that’s just what York is, again good, bad or somewhere in between. It’s no secret I’m not a York fan. It’s no secret they’re not fans of ours. I don’t hate York, just not my favorite program. Neither game this year had any bearing on that. Like I posted earlier, sure I pull against York but not because they were good this year, I’ve pulled against them all those years they sucked also. Not everyone likes every program and that’s OK.
Show me a post where I’ve “had it out against York”?

The first little fiasco should have had some ejections. And I disagree it would have been players from both sides. I wouldn’t want to be an official by any means but I felt tonight they let it get out of hand. But at the end of the day if you don’t give them the opportunity they can’t penalize you. Like I said proud of the Dragons disappointed how it ended.
I understand you being proud and disappointed. Tough way to end a heck of a season and for the seniors heck of a season 2 years in a row.

I think that should start with the officials. They had absolutely no control. I am a proud of the Dragons for the year they had but I am disappointed in the lack of discipline tonight. Hate to see it end for this group of seniors they have been fun to watch the last couple years.
I understand that as well but just as a point of discussion what more could have been done? They flagged any sort of foolishness early, when it got ratcheted up a notch they cleared the field and warned both sides, they continued to flag the chippy stuff then when the fight inevitably broke out they ejected players. I understand what you’re saying but from my perspective the officials gave both coaching staffs ample opportunities to get their teams under control. Neither side did that. In fact until the ejections I’d say both coaches continued to have less control of their teams as the game went on. The only other thing I could see the officials doing would’ve been to eject players earlier but that would’ve likely been in the first half dust up and then likely would’ve only been a player from York, maybe 2. I agree with you about the season but whether anyone thinks it’s warranted or not York has that reputation as that sort of program. Some will say it’s earned, others will say it’s total BS. Either way it’s out there. Apparently ER does also, I’m sure the officials were aware of that also. Like I said earlier it was a perfect self feeding storm and unfortunately a bad look for all involved tonight. Entertaining as heck but unfortunately everyone is talking about that junk and not the nearly miraculous comeback.

TSSAA needs to watch this from the start to finish, This junk don't belong in High school .
I agree. Needs to be some accountability for this one.

What happened here?
It was bad from the very beginning. A lot of chippy stuff then a mini brawl broke out on the ER sideline. Cleared the field and warned both sides. Later another broke out and ER got one tossed and York had 2 thrown out. Apparently one of Yorks went after an official after the game and allegedly an ER assistant hit a York player and the mom is pressing charges. Basically just another Friday night in Jamestown

Yes I understand that now. The broadcast said he was and he left the game. Thank you for letting me know though, there was a lot going on!

All the late hitting by York in the 1st half brought this all on, I said it would happen before the game, thus the Classless assumption. At some point you have to fight back.
We’ve played them for years, twice this year. I’m well aware of their style of play. Only difference is tonight they ran up on a team that was willing to go there with them and it snow balled.

Yeah, I didnt think so, I saw the play and the player I thought it would be until they started talking about a Groves, not gonna mention a number but yeah...
I wasn’t sure but like you said they were talking about #2 and then he left the game. By the time the dust settled I wasn’t sure if he returned or not. Just a huge mess.

The officials had 0 control. It was bad after the 1st or 2nd drive.
Well they flagged the crap out of both sides and cleared the field and met with both coaches. All that was left was ejections which they did the next dust up.

No the ER player ejected was a lineman apparently.
