No. Settle it between the whistles. Its called discipline. Besides, everybody knows its always the second guy that gets the penalty. Maybe if we'd hit a few more people between the whistles (legally, of course), we wouldn't have felt the need to do so afterward. Here's to hoping we do that next week...

Wrecking Crew brought up a great point. Why is the local choke-and-puke owner a part of the coach hiring process? I have never seen school board members participate in the hiring process of any coach. And Eaglefan, "they" have been hiding all sorts of things. This entire thread is chocked full of them. This appears to be the accepted behavior here.

I think these guys here are too hung up on "this coach" or "that coach" to realize that they're being sold a bill of goods here. Like I said before (and your comment confirms it) the real problem is much higher up. Wake up, people.

Pride, outside opinions will not be tolerated. Either you disagree or you are "behind the program." You will assimilate. Resistance is futile.

And that's just the count from this year. There is no accountability in the AD's office. We get no explanations, followed by non-answers in the Free Press. Why was the softball coach canned last year? It certainly wasn't wins and losses. A "change in direction" is what we're told. Please. Maybe Rhea Co. can chime in and tell us how much cash the football team is being forced to drop on these new uniforms so we can comply with the new "kelly green" mandate being forced down everyone's throats. Meanwhile the football stadium is a wreck. We STILL have no track, despite competing on the state level for years now. We've got 4-tone green and Easter pastel yellow literally splattered all over the school. Its an embarassment. It makes it look like we have no pride (or at minimum, colorblind). Its like a 4-year old drew a picture of the school with the leftover crayons nobody ever uses. I could go on, but the point is that this county really does have pride in the school but are being forced to live with the decisions made from on high. I would compare this coaching mis-management to Mike Hamilton, but at least Hammy can keep his facilities in order. Nothing will change until people demand it. The problem, ladies and gentlemen, is at the TOP.

Wow. Best win of the year, and the complaints still fly. Best coached game of the year, without question. The trick play, the defensive adjustments after halftime to stop the run, ball control at the end of the game... I could go on. Those boys absolutely played their guts out. Again, great win. My only complaint of the night is the serious lack of football IQ in the homestands by self-proclaimed know-it-alls. I'm willing to bet it is the same people complaining about #10 getting the ball too much on this message board. The biggest fan is correct. This isn't the biggest or fastest team ever assembled here. They win on sheer guts. The hyper-sensitive mommas (or dads for that matter) out there should take that as a huge compliment, not an insult.

Wow. I stand corrected. Was it last year that the top two from each subdivision got the two automatic bids? This wildcard business is beyond stupid. Rhea is punished for playing nothing but 6A teams all year, with the exception of required games vs. 5A Cleveland and Walker Valley.

The top two 6A teams are automatic qualifiers. Bradley 4-1 (7-2) (Walker Valley) Soddy-Daisy 3-1 (5-3) (Rhea, Cleveland) Rhea Co. 3-2 (3-5) (Soddy, Warren Co.*non-district) Ooltewah 1-3 (3-5) (Cleveland, McMinn) McMinn 0-4 (1-7) (Ooltewah, Walker Valley) McMinn and Ooltewah have to hope for wildcards. They are otherwise eliminated. If Rhea loses, they will have to hope for a wildcard, probably which isn't going to happen. If Rhea wins, they are in unless the following happens: Walker Valley beats Bradley, Rhea beats Soddy, Soddy beats Cleveland. This will have all three teams at 4-2, and with an overall win-loss record being the tiebreaker, Bradley would be first at 7-3, Soddy second at 6-4 and Rhea third and most likely staying home at 5-5. Rhea has to treat this like a playoff week. So, Go Eagles! and a little less enthusiastically... Go Bears.

There were some drops. There were some drops due to throws that were a little behind. Fine, agree to disagree. Let's just say that we have to execute better. That won't work next week. Did that defense not play that great? Especially considering the position the kicking teams put them in?

They talk more trash than any team I've ever played, hands down. Back in my day, they had their usual All-Region RB/LB. He ran his yap pregame. He ran his yap on the opening drive of the game. He was strangely quiet at the end of the game. Funny thing, how that works... They get real quiet when you whip them. Boys, do your talking with your helmets and shoulderpads. BEAT CLEVELAND.

Somehow I almost expect this to happen. TSSAA enforcement of these things is beyond laughable.
