  1. If McGavock couldn't make the playoffs last year with the talent they had, I don't know what makes people think they will this year. First to be a good football team you have to have good COACHES, and that is not the case at McGavock. They definitely don't care about the talented kids, they want to save the ones that aren't talented and the ones that are destined to be in trouble. They are going to need all the help they can get and that still won't be enough, until McGavock gets a decent HEAD COACH they will never reach post season play.
  2. Sorry I forgot my "s", you must be a very miserable and very bitter human being all you seem to do is throw insults, I can see you were never taught the definition of manners, again you are a very insulting and ignorant person. This is the last post I will make on this subject your not worth the energy it takes to respond to your insulting comments, like I said before this topic started as a compliment to Zach Franklin it's a shame that you have to continue to be mean-spirited and throw insults towards myself and others that have posted their opinions on this message board.
  3. SwamiSays I believe it just show your ignorance.
  4. It's a shame that this post started with a compliment to Zach Franklin and now has turned into a so called lesson in reality, I can promise you he doesn't need to learn that lesson from you. He has plenty of role models including his football coach Arcentae Broome who Zach is very close too, you posted some very rude and insulting comments towards him and the whole student body of McGavock High School and you should be ashamed, but I'm sure your not. And in turn to your insulting remarks Zach Franklin said some things that were totally out of his character, he is a team player and a leader, you don't know him and hopefully never will. Thank you to the others that have had positive things to say in Zach Franklin's defense and the poster who started this whole topic. I am glad for those of you who have been able to reflect and reminise about your past football days at least something good has come out of this. And SwamiSays I have read other posts on Coach T that you have written and the majority of them are nasty comments do you ever have anything nice to say. Zach Franklin hold your head up and don't let people like SwamiSays get you down, you know who you are and what you are about and your a good kid and "FIRST"an excellent student and "Second" an excellent football player.
  5. First of all it's a sad situation for a grown man and to quote you said you were an "old man" to be talking to kids this way. Zach Franklin has no idea who posted this thread to begin with apparantly it's someone who thinks he has talent apparantly you have never seen him play. He has to be one of the most humble players that i have ever known he is a leader he builds his team up and he is also in the weight room he gets his sleep and most importantly he is getting an education he is a straight A student so before you post your trash talk you need to get your facts straight. I think you did this to get a rise out of him and that's a shame like I said he has no idea who started this thread. Your right Coach Broome and Mr. Tribue were great athletes and are very good coaches and do the best they can with the talent they have, they do try to recruit kids from the halls of McGavock High School but some kids these days are lazy and have no work ethic they can only work with what they have and believe it or not there is talent at McGavock High School. You seem to have so much knowledge about what a joke McGavock is and has been, were you a part of that joke? In my opinion and yes we all have one Coach T has built this web site for positive conversation not derogatory conversation and putting young men or adults down like you have, maybe next time you post on Coach T you will have something postive to say and refrain from the trash talking!!!!
  6. I agree he did alot of things this year at McGavock, he played WR, RB,QB, he also returned punts, kickoffs and played DB just an all round great athlete and student. He's been a starter since his freshman year,he will definitely be one to watch in 08.
  7. I just read your post today and I can't speak for Hillwood or Glencliff but as far as McGavock being a disgrace maybe you need to take a second look now that we're at week 10. Mcgavock has had to overcome injury this year their starting QB was injured twice early in the season and has been out since week 4 and somehow they have tried to rebound and are now tied with gallatin in the region go figure. So before you go badmouthing other teams in the region you might want to wait until later in the season and consider some adversity that teams have been handed and what they can potentially overcome the way Mcgavock has.
  8. As I wrote last night my child was a 5th year senior and went to school was a credit and a half from graduating when he should have the year before but wasn't granted the same opportunity that this child has been. He didn't misbehave in school, he didn't fight, and he certainly didn't assault a teacher he just had trouble making passing grades in some of his classes during his freshman and sophmore years. My point is that every child shoulld be awarded the same opportunities as this child has received, what makes him different than any other child that has struggled at one time or another in school. Bottom line children are at school to learn and football or any other extracurricular activity should come second, if you can't make the grades and behave in school then you shouldn't be allowed to participate in any high school sport there are other classes and clubs in school that can help a child turn around such as student leadership which involves the students mentoring younger children and influencing them to do the right thing when their older. As I also had posted before what about the kids that have went to school and have done the right thing that are on the H/L football team that have had to take a back seat to this child just because he has reformed himself. I still don't agree and will never agree, true enough i don't think the rest of the team should have to suffer because of this and i am glad that they don't. As someone said earlier we all have the right to our own opinion and to post them in this forum.
  9. Would you apologize if the decision had not gone in HL favor probably not, I know people that were at that game and your accusations were false. It's a shame that you had to try and shed a bad light on Glencliff and the conduct of their players because HL might have to forfeit their games, yes we are all human but we should get our facts straight before we start bashing a school and their football players. Glencliff had nothing to gain by bringing this situation to light I believe that all they were trying to do was be fair to all the student athletes in the region that also have been upstanding repectful student athletes this season.
  10. Another take on this what about a child that's on the HL football team that has attended school everyday made the grades is not 19 years old or almost and has had to sit and not get to play because this kid sat out didn't make the grades and missed alot of school but is eligible now doesn't seem quite fair to the child that did what he's supposed to do and doesn't get the opportunity to play over this kid.
  11. First and foremost kids are at school to learn and get a education, i had a son who was a 5th year senior and was not allowed to play his 5th year of high school and he didn't play at all any of the previous four years seems like exceptions are made for some but not others. And i still say that missing over 40 days of school is RIDICULOUS and your still allowed to participate in a high school sport that's a joke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. So now your rewarded for missing over 40 days of school, seems a little ridiculous to me!!!!
  13. Antioch deserves it they have really played well since week 5 it just took them a little while to get started.
