  1. This game should be played at a much better stadium. Even if it does "have" to be played in Clarksvillle, there has to be a better option in the entire city or at least close surrounding area. I expect all Clarksville fans will really show up to support one of the city teams, & to see if NE can get it done. Everyone in TN knows how well Henry County travels & they are on a mission to bring the "gold ball" home to Paris, TN. Expect the "12th man" from HC to show up & make as big of an impact as they can. Good luck & Happy Thanksgiving!
  2. Just for the record, I agree Najee has "IT" and should be looked at more than he has. Just a quick note about Marsalis (since he has been name dropped), regardless of timed speed, this kid has that rare 6th gear when it comes to running with the ball. Biggest mistake was to put him on defense, he is a playmaker and needs to have the ball in his hands. Fastest kid to ever run for Henry County so far. Ask Eric Gordon if he was able to catch him when they played each other, or any of the "gold shoes" guys at Melrose in 07-08. He is an awesome talent with a great head on his shoulders and is only on defense because he is the epitome of a team player! Dooley would be wise to put him back as a receiver! Nuff said! Back to Najee, I would love to see him go to an FBS or FCS school. However, If they dont come calling, there are a couple very good DII schools relatively close that always seem to be in the playoffs and even playing in the DII Championship game. I think this would be a great venue for him as well. At any rate, good luck Najee!!! The Henry County faithful will follow and support you wherever you choose to play! Loved watching you play here in Henry County.
  3. Wow, I thought the subject was suppose to be about the commentators for the BCB games. Instead it has turned into a "my dad can beat your dad" argument. Who cares! If your team came away with a state championship then congrats! The announcers for the 5A & 6A games SUCKED and should owe money instead of getting paid! If ANY team in the state of TN. would like to step up and put Henry County on their schedule, then please have them make the call! Win or lose, we will show up and give you what we have. Bring your mouthpiece and make sure you put them in. If your team doesnt want any, then just shut your mouth and be content that we havent rained on your parade.
  4. Well, I also did not mention anything about Najee and his 140+ yds, Shaq and his 150+ and 2 TD's, or Caleb and his hardnosed play running, receiving, blocking and tackling on both sides of the ball. There are so many I could mention because this is a true team! They played like a well oiled machine all year long and the proof is that gold ball sitting at HCHS right now and those soon to come "PHAT STATE CHAMPIONSHIP RINGS"! The only reason I mentioned Mobley is because we have never seen him play in person but he lived up to all the hype. Jelks is well deserving of an SEC school and I am thrilled that he chose Vandy! I think others could go D1 on this team as well. Just too much to mention everyone and everything they do! Absolutely great game and great performance by all HC players!
  5. OK, so I have finally gotten around to watching the replay online. I have to say it, could they find some announcers that are bigger idiots? I mean these kids are giving blood, sweat, and tears out there and the announcers cant even get their names or numbers right with a darn roster in front of them. Maybe next year they can color coordinate the rosters to reflect each teams colors, or get someone who can see and read! Thats awful! I hope they didnt pay them to do that. Great game by two great teams with awful announcers!
  6. Maybe you just need to turn up your "radio man"! You got lucky last night to just have the sirens. I didnt even hear the big horns that Randy usually has. They normally drowned out the sirens! Sorry if you & the loser announcers dont like the noise but we here in Henry County are proud and "LOUD"! But then again, you found that out last night and we didnt need the big horns. 4 or 5 thousand diehard HC fans is hard to beat, even if you are closer to home!
  7. great post! Your team is first class as well and Mobley looks like he should be in the SEC!!!
  8. As i scan over the post-game posts on this board its clear that "some" Powell fans like the taste of sour grapes! Cmon, seriously Powell! This was a great game played by two very talented very well coached teams! The ball could have bounced either way for both teams. We may have had some inconsistency throughout the year in our kicking game but the Ainley kid has worked hard all year long and last night he was money! I was watching him during warm-ups and he was kicking the ball dead center into the camera man's skylift! Had we attempted the FG at the end of the first half, I think he could have made it. Then, if we kick the FG down on the 2 yd line instead of going for the TD, that would have made this a 9 point game. I dont second guess our coaches for doing what they did, and Powell certainly shouldnt be second guessing Lowe on his decisions. Thats why they are the coaches and we are the fans. Congrats to Mobley on his accomplishments, by far the best RB we have faced all year. Congrats to the Powell players and coaches on a great season, you DESERVED to be in the state game! CONGRATS TO THE 2011 5A STATE CHAMPION HENRY COUNTY PATRIOTS!!!!!!!!!
  9. Totally agree! Some of these kids look like they are drinking miracle grow for breakfast every morning! Watching them from freshman to senior is mind boggling in some of the cases!
  10. One thing I know for sure, its going to be like a steady convoy on I40 with all of the Henry County fans. With Milan and Henry County playing back to back, the road is going to be a constant blur of purple and red for several hours. Lots of us going early to tailgate and support Milan too.
  11. good call Facts! If I remember corectly, Henry County has had to shut down a good QB and a really good RB more than once this year, and they didnt play for teams with losing records. In fact, they were playoff teams in one class or another.
  12. First off I would like to say that I really like the website Powell! We here in HC need to get up to date with this football website stuff. Second, being a diehard HC fan, of course I believe the Patriots will bring the gold ball home. I will say this though, with the exception of the 2800+ yds that Mobley ran for, these two teams couldnt be more evenly matched on paper! Both teams have proved their critics wrong all year long, and we now meet face to face for the title. Basically a mirror image of each other from opposite sides of the state. I cant wait and I agree that this could be the best game of the entire Blue Cross Bowl Series this year. You cant ask for a better set up than to have 5A & 6A title games between undefeated teams from opposite sides of the state. Good luck and safe travel to all teams playing this week and all of the fans that follow. I wish our team had a nice warm indoor turf state-of-the-art practice facility to enjoy during this wonderful weather! Lol.....UT must be trying to pay back Jelks for signing with Vandy! HAHAHA
  13. I can assure you that if the Henry County faithful shows up to support Milan, and many of them will, you are going to need more than the Powell fans to keep up with the noise and numbers that you will hear and see from the west side of the state. I know how we (HC) travel, and we have been known to absolutely cover the home side of opponents stadiums. Milan is no slouch when it comes to traveling to support their team either. If these 2 fanbases merge (and they will), you are going to see an atmosphere like TTU has never seen before! I think the headcount at the semi-final game in HC last Friday night was in the 5-6000 range with HHS contributing about 750-1000. Of course they were like church mice from about the 2nd qtr. on! Anyway, it will be loud! Anyone know if the "hornguy" is allowed to bring his toys?
  14. I would have to agree 100%! It sure makes it harder to understand what bc850 is trying to say with all of the mis-spelled words and lack of punctuation. I'm not trying to be the "spelling police" here, but that's awful! Please take off the "Caps Lock" too! Lol
  15. This is it Patriot fans! It's time to warm up them voices, cowbells, horns, and sirens, & get loud! Lets give the commando's some crowd noise like they have never heard before! Our players thrive off of it just like charging their batteries. It needs to be so loud we cant hear ourselves think! As for our players, lets leave it on the field guys! No regrets after the game tonight! You give it ALL you have for 60 minutes and your efforts will be rewarded! Play like someone's trying to steal it from you because they are! Stay on your assignments and don't let their receiver's breath. If they make the catch, make sure they know your prescence! It will be fresh in their mind the next time they are targeted. Watch the play action close, and PLEASE wrap them up until your "brothers-in-arms" arrive! No more of this knock down tackle crap! Lay the wood and hang on for the ride! We got this Henry County, now lets go and all do our part! It's time to introduce Cookeville to "RED PRIDE" and this is the last step we need to take so we can get on that "dancefloor" and tear it up!
