I would be absolutely SHOCKED to see a final not consisting of District 1 schools. This time of year anything can happen, but Cloudland and Hampton (at full strength) are better than Cosby. 1. Hampton - when they have their PG back 2. Cloudland 3. Cosby/UH 5. North Greene 6. Washburn 7. Unaka 8. Hancock 9. Everyone else from Dist. 2

i dont know that i would call these teams "great." They are both good - but I wouldnt use great. Lets step out of east Tenn and use the whole state as a measurement. wait till after the post season to use "great."

playing UH makes lots of teams look good. South Greene is outstanding none the less.

I still think those girls come back before all of this is said and done... Coach Wright will be in a position where he will have to take them because of his numbers (even if he has said he wouldnt) and the girls will be hero's because they saved the season (even if they said they would never play for him). It's easy to say you arent going to play in June, much harder to say that in October. Just like its easy to say you wouldnt let them back on in the summer, and much harder with that season breathing down your neck in october.

2 more questions. 1. What is the likelyhood these girls will come back when it gets closer to the season starting up? 2. What are the chances Coach Wright would take them back?

What does that leave HV with? Anyone know why she's leaving? That's like someone transfering from NC State to Duke. Cant use UNC/Duke cause HV doesnt have the post season tradition, but is still competitive.

Correct me if I am wrong, but didnt several of the girls quit and then come back before Coach Wright was there? Seems like I remember hearing player X quit one summer to play softball, then I saw her when the season started. This was when Coach Chambers was there. I did hear that the leaders on last years team had a bad attitude during the game @ Cloudland and the disctricts vs UH. To me that comes from the top down. To say that it was the coach's fault last season, puts the girls from the previous seasons down and heightens Coach Chambers. There are lots of ways to win a basketball game and Coach Chambers' way isnt the only way. So to say that Coach Wright was the reason they lost, means that the only reason they won before was because of coaching (since it was essentially the same team as someone said). I am sure Coach Wright didnt coach them to loose. Even if you dont have any respect for the coach, as a competitor you still go out there and bust your tail. In the end, you arent playing for you, you are playing for the school, your family, and the players that built the program. At the very least, you play for them - not the coach. Or it says that the one player Unaka lost from 07-08 was MUCH better than we all thought?

Dont know about Hampton, but UH played at Sullivan North Tourney. Made it to championship with wins over Mitchell Co., and Sullivan North. Lost to Coach Gordon's Mo. West team in a close game. I expect Hampton to win this one. I think UH will get out coached.
