  1. Last night when we were at your gym, we saw the beautiful picture you had of Mrs. Mason on the wall. Comments were made about why it was there. She must have won a contest, look at her big smile. We didn't know until right before the game, that she was a teacher there and had passed away the day before. From what we've heard about her, her heart was as big as her smile. Our thoughts and prayers are with you from Santa Fe.
  2. Where did you go to download photo's. I can't find that anywhere?
  3. I'd like to add that "Practice" is a key element in basketball. And I beg to differ that nothing else should "MATTER." Along with players who love the game and a COACH who cares about the atheletes and the SPORT!! All of us know great sports figures that barely made many days of school, because of working in the fields or streets to help support their families, but made ball practice when it counted. And on to play college ball, which paid for their education they wouldn't have had, if not for sports. I know a smiliar situation, the girl loves basketball, is an asset to the team and would be starting, but she has to work. She misses at least one practice a week, so of coarse, because she has to help her family, she may play 4 minutes a game. Her teamates know she has to work and would like her playing with them, they need her at times she's 6'. But the coach says no!! What happened to helping the kids. This girl, would get a scholarship somewhere if he would just let her play. PRACTICE---shouldn't be set in STONE only DEATHS!!!
  4. Santa Fe plays Cornersville Friday night for their homecoming game. Who will win? SF lost to MTCS by about 7 but were down by about 15 at one point, Cornersville beat MTCS by a good bit so who will come out on top. Keep in mind that Macenze White is back starting, so will the combination of White and Sewell add something that Santa Fe did not have at the MTCS game?
  5. Does anyone know anything about the walker,AL team? I know richland has played a lot of schools from AL did they play Walker? any info would be great..and if you know anything how bout some predictions for the turnout of the game
  6. In 11A i believe the trio from Santa Fe, Lindsey Sewell,Macenze White, and Lauren Gardner, as well as Rachel Glidden from Richland.
  7. lauren gardner and macenze white from santa fe are both good post players of 08. Not sure about Gardner but White is being looked at by Freed Hardeman and David Lipscomb.
  8. Most of the atheletes that have played against Macenze White know that she is Type I Diabetic and has been since she was 11 years old. Macenze wears a Diabetic pump that looks like a pager that is connected to her stomach to give her insulin . She was in Vanderbilt hospital in April for out of control bloodsugar and was told to carry her meds with her at all times. She also keeps these meds in the office too, but carries them with her like the doctors told her to do. On September 20th, she was turned in by a classmate for having drugs in her purse!!!! The Principal Mrs. Cook and the SRO Officer found in her purse Insulin, Glugagon (to use in case of Insulin Shock) and 1 Lortab tablet (she had the prescription for the Lortab, because of a bulging disc in her back and under going physical therapy) Because of the NO TOLERANCE rule Macenze had to go to Alterntive School at College Hill for 45 days. She didn't realize that she was commiting an "offense" for something she needed on a daily basis to live. Kids with "heavier offenses" have left after only 10 days, but Macenze was still there. I think if you look real close you'll find that she got "no" special treatment, it was just the reverse. Obviously, you've investigated why Macenze was there, and you would like her to stay the whole "calendar year" as you quoted from the "handbook". You will find that only about six kids in Maury County have ever went the "calendar year" and that would be hard core kids (gang)!!! She has missed some basketball practices, but Coach Potts has made sure, she stays in shape and will have to make them up. Macenze has to set out the first two games, that's his rule. She also missed having her senior picture made with the rest of her class, that was hard for her. And many other things she would have enjoyed being a SENIOR and her last year of school at Santa Fe, but somebody wanted to see what she had in her purse!!!!! The question was about what the teams are gonna to do in the district this season , but someone wanted to "bring in" Macenze White. [/font]
