Dekalb will get another good coach in there from what understand Mark Willoughby has Hired some big name guys: Bud Brandon - 2 state titles at WC,as well neumerous State Tourny appearances. Also son of all time winningest living coach Cambell Brandon. Robby Reasonover - 1 state title, while out coaching Jim Brown in the process. Terry Spurlock - AAU Baseball coaching Genious, took his team to 2nd in the Nation, but lost to Jimmy Rollins club in the finals. Brad Martin - Brad a guuy who never made a name for himself like the one above, but the son of one greatest coaches Tommy Martin who coached at MT. Juliet. Mike Schockley - Won over 400 games, also many D1 signees. Will be missed at DC I will bet Willoughby will not choose anyone local. If he is smart anyway. They need someone who can inspire and can get people to believe in there self, but also teach them you will never see success if you do not see hard word before it. Will these girls win state prob not, but they can achieve so much more. Coach Shockley got it started, who can now carry the torch. Need someone with expericence, but most of all a good teacher of the game.

Ok something going on weird with my computer, but DC Im confident is the most prepared team. They have the best Coach in the District Lynus Martin. He is by far the best floor coach in the upper cumberland. There is not a coach that is more passionate about the program or the school. Look for Coach Martin to have his team ready for win and make a run oninto the region.

You have to be kidding me if you really believe that. Hunter Stewart took over in that game in the paint a CC's place. Do not get me wrong Cannon is a great team and shoots the ball superbly. In tourny time that cant bye your way on in to the tourny. DC plays excellent Defense by changeing it up you cant run your one lil offennse against DC. Not saying Cannaon does. As Lee Corso says on Saterdays not so fast my freind. This one will be closer than the experts think DC always plays well at LA. Melton and Dunn will be over looking dekalb. If dekalb's shooters show up DC will be right there to take the victory. Here is what they will have to do: 1 Draw first blood, Denman and Willoughby need to get there shots falling early. 2. put Pottete on Dunn this is the kid before he got in foul trouble but shut down John Jenkins when he was on him he held Jenkins to 8 points. When Jenkins let out was when martin put wiggins on him. 3. Slow Slow Slow Slow down, dekalb you do not need to run and gun with these guys. When you beat them 2 years ago thats what you did. 4. Dekalb West where dekalb athletics gets most of the stars from has had a great season. They really have suprised a lot of people and they have had some smart coaching. The best thing about this team though is the parents keep there mouth shut. They are supportive but it is that they are behind the whole team the whole school and the coach. You would be suprised to see what great parents can do for a program. Plus the Dekalb mid is have a good year to. Dekalb i think will be successful in the future, but who knows what can happen from now til then

Hutto's team with big man Easterly was always fun to watch with Lanning and Vaughn as gurads and Davis as a force inside as well. I will never forget the time in the state tourny when i was in 1st grade going to see the Devils play. This team is one of the big reasons i love basketball. Coach Hutto did an amazing job as a coach and was also a positive male influence in these young people's lives.

i thought the floor was named after gibbs or somthing i really dont know and i appologize. I have just always known the gym to be named after my mentor's father Coach Brandon. Since my dad left WJB middle i havent been to many games at LHS i actually havent been back to that gym sinced hutto left. i have always seen the blue on the road. Wilson county really needs to give LHS a new not just for athletics educational purposes to.

This year dekalb starts the post woodward era. This year will have new leadership, a new look from the tigers. I have to admit Coach Martin has done his homework and has his team, in an offense that fits his personel. Also the tigers i think will have a little more depth than usual. The key will be team chemistry i have seen a lot of less athletic teams that had chemistry and were more successful than the athletic teams. The other thing is a lot of in expericence out on on the floor when will the youth be able to adjust to the fast pace of the district this year. Right now WH being in the second round is no surprise, but DC in the playoffs thats another story. Whoever wpuld have thought that this would really be happening just after a head Coach with no HS experience took over the team just 4 years ago and have them as the best team in school history. Well put both things aside this friday night isnt about the past or who has more players or what not in the post seasons its about your passion and purpose. The reason i pick DC to win isnt bc of there QB or great WR core. The reason I am picking them to win is the fact that this team is in this togther. I have followed a lot of state champion ball clubs in my young years mostly bball, but in order to win you must be in this as a team, school, community, and county. This football team have revived Dekalb county and i look for this to continue. Hunter has a great game along with remember this guy num 6 MATT Lawerence to bring a nother win home for the tigers. Clay Edwards was one of the best men i have ever known. Mr. Clay was not just a parent who rooted for his child to succeed, but his county as well. Mr. Clay was always a positive individual always smileing and being a great christian man. I hope and pray that God puts his hand upon the Edward's family and dekalb county during this loss. This year from the start looks like the tradtional 7aa with la and then upperman. Then after that a toss up. Well quite honestly if la gets knocked off it would not surprise me. Look at history of past teams when they are all hyped up and everyone is out to get you. im not saying it will happen just saying its possible. The surprise team this year will be DC the post woodward era, since Danny Bond left early this decade Martin has been his best when people count him out. Just look at two years ago after randolph left we beat la at la and eneded there district winning streak. I dont know who will be the big player for DC, but martin wil have them ready to go. Ok people give it up. Wilson Central won life goes on. This was a team effort not a transfer effort. Coach Brandon plays by the rules. If you want your kid's team to send them to some camp where they can get better and quit putting people down. I dont think coach brandon would ever throw a game but if he did which i know he didnt. It would have obously been a good coaching decision state champs.

Well at the start of the year some lavernge people had wilson central finishing 5th or 4th in their district. I tried to tell that you would be wrong and you really thought wilson central really would not be good. I am very proud to say i picked this one and for coach brandon you to me are the coach of the year. reason 1. When Jenkins and Willams left most teams this would be a rebuilding year but you made these kids believe they could acheive greatness and they did. 2.Your point guard goes down and your three point shooter at that most teams and coaches would just say girls maybe next year but not you. You kept your team together Jim Brown would even have a hard time with that one Congrat Wilson Central

Wilson Central's coach is not crazy he is one of the best prepared coaches i have ever seen. He gets most of his coaching done before the game that is one reason why his teams have always done so well. And for there point guard missing they will be fine i believe that if they will just spread the floor and play smart and not rush shots they will be ok. The thing that WC beats everyone on is fundementals everyone on that team can handle the ball Look for Coach Brandon and his girls to come out ready to go and they will succeed in this tourny.

Dekalb if they want to win do one thing play your game dont adjust to cannon make them adjust to you when you beat watertown and G ville you made them play your game. That is the maost important thing but atleast want to win this one you honestly could have beat macon pretty easily. But you didnt show up and the scorboard showed it. Cannon if you all want to win make sure you shoot the three really well if they dont fall you are in trouble, but lucly dekalb has the same prob Since i pick them to end the streak vs cannon or macon and it didnt happen with macon. I will pick dekalb but it will be a toss up

They have two senoirs but she doesnt play very much i dont think or she might have quit before the tournament I dont know. But I agree with you when tobit ,white, harrison, even fostor they did not play this hard .The game will come and it might be sooner than later. Keep up the good work girls and hang in there.
