  1. We didn't start this post. We didn't start name calling, we didn't start anything. Why pick on us? Because we are right and the most vocal? No, I am on here all the time. I have been busy and not able to post. I was quite entertained by Huntland's posts last week. Respect is earned and Coach T has my respect 100% -always said that. My son, his friends and all the kids love him. Never said anything different. That isn't the issue. What seems to be the problem here is the fact that NO ONE can seperate the issues. 1. LC is not the team it COULD be. 2. Coach T is a great person and was a GREAT coach, no doubt about that, but 3. LC could go much farther with a different system in place be it a new coaching staff or a new coaching approach. Times have changed and now so must we. Why do I get trashed for that? Why do I get name called for stating the obvious? For what I hear EVERY FRIDAY night in the stands?? For what I hear from OTHER parents of players and non players? I have nothing to prove to anyone here and truly do not care who I tick off, because I am not here to impress anyone, but to make sure I do the best I can for my school system and my children, who I support both 100% when they are right.
  2. This comment is so retarted that it doesn't warrant a response...geesh. Oh, and I would say that if one is out of shape, then it stands to reason, they ALL are out of shape...again, so retarted, but then again, what else to expect, lol.
  3. I can re- assure you, that statement was not made by powersoftball. I agree with the poster. I am not embarrassed about what I said before the Riverdale game...Riverdale has only won ONE maybe TWO games...they were not a challenge, they handed us the game on a silver platter!! I think that NGA could have beat them. Our defense did an awesome job as usual, but again, as usual, our offense did...ok. I will say that there was more spirit on the sidelines and a greater variety of play calling done (plays were mapped) during the first half, but when they came out the second half, they looked to be back to the same ole same ole. Our linemen were sucking air so hard that they were having a hard time standing. That is LACK of conditioning. But alas, truth falls on DEAD ears. My son even says that they do not do that much conditiioning. Without seperate j/v -varisity practices, there is a LOT of standing around, attention paid to certain players with many others left to the side to do nothing but...stand. I watch practices quite frequently and know that my high school practices were never ran like that../smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> It is sad when the starters are that far out of shape. Shows one of two things...lack of conditioning, or lack of using the depth of the bench the coaches have to give the boys a break!
  4. I must be in the same group that you are. I am an outsider and not one of 'them', therefore, I am told to shut up and how my opinion doesn't count. I also agree that in a few years when the middle schoolers get to the high school, the teams are going to be even worse because the middle school coaches are shortcutting fundamentals. Having children playing in both areas, I see things. As an outsider, I guess I don't really give a crap what people think. I want what is BEST for my kids and for the school. I don't care if your last name is Bush, Clinton or Obama, if your kid can't play ball, then he/she rides pine, however, names mean more here. There are VERY talented kids on the sidelines who will stay there because of who they aren't. That isn't what is best for the school, but what is best for the few. Coach T is a great coach, but like I have always said, he is tired and has a lot on his plate. Why do we not have seperate JV and Varsity practices so that the boys can learn more? Why are JV games iffy and cancelled on a whim? JV is our future Varsity. Too many problems.... Why aren't the elementary/middle schools coinciding their offenses with the high school so that by the time the kids reach high school they are very proficient? Why are coaches telling kids to do two different things and then a third coach yelling at the kid for not doing something entirely different? Where is the discipline? Where is the spirit? Where is the pride? Tis a sad thing.....
  5. Well, when the kids feel this way, then it isn't anything new. The kids love their Coach T. They do NOT hesitate to say that. But, some also have said there needs to be change. They want that leadership, they are tired of certain things happening. You have no idea of how many kids on that team have come to me and said something. I will forever and always support the team. I work with the boosters, work gates, concessions, etc. I am known as 'mom' by many of the boys, both on and off the field. But then again, so are so many more mothers out there. I am no one special. Just a concerned parent who wants the most for the kids of LCHS. I will always vote for property bonds that go directly to schools and/or taxes that go directly to schools, no if/ands/or buts.
  6. GO FALCONS!!! LET'S KICK SOME BUTT TOMORROW NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Not really. Most of the goods were shipped north. Some goods were shipped back to England or to France, but not near as many. The East Indian Trading Company picked up quite a few when they brought over new slaves as well. From what else I could gather of your choppy sentence(s), you were speaking of state's rights. Well, state's rights ENDS when it comes to human rights. The South argued over repayment of Revolution debt, taxes and slavery. Basically, they wanted to control each state individually, which is not what we as a new nation, had slated. I could go on for hours on history...I am working on my Masters in History......
  8. All I can say is I want more than anything for the Falcons to KICK BOOTY and win!!! I know they have worked harder this week than they have the preceding weeks, so I sure know they are getting ready for this game. I want them to come away the VICTORS it would do their moral some good!!
  9. Perhaps the surrendering of the troops, even though the fact of the surrender didn't get through to all lines for several weeks and battles still raged. The north had industry and improvement, while the south wanted to stay and rely upon the old style plantation, which made them ship all of their goods to the north for finishing. Now anyone with HALF a brain knows that the money stays with the finished product. So, the south was producings a crop, being paid for it, but then having to purchase the finished product from the North. This left them entirely dependent upon the North and other countries. However, they still refused to change. Would you like to know more? They had no means of true income beyond crop production and no desire to improve their means of crop production because they didn't want to change their way of crop production. Actually slavery wasn't an issue until towards the middle of the war when Lincoln used the moral issue of slavery to rouse the North to fight harder because they weren't sure they really wanted the southern lands. I still know tons more? It is amazing what one knows when they are actually educated....
  10. I don't remember anyone dragging his name through the mud. No one has comitted libel or slander or done any mudslinging whatsoever. Coach T has done great things, that has been said. It is also being said that it is time for a change. The Braves coach needs to go as well, he has stalemated there too, they aren't doing near as well as they could. It happens. That's life. Again, Coach T WAS a great coach and he IS great with the kids and IS a great role model for he is the only coach that I haven't heard about walking around drinking whether he is with the kids or not. Most anyone that has been with the system knows about some of the coaches drinking with players (not necessarily speaking of football either). The sad thing is - administration and parents know. The ONE parent that pitched a big enough fit about it, had to move, because of the harrassment he received for reporting the drinking party with the coach. That there says it all.
  11. Actually the post was started by someone else entirely. Several other people have voiced their opinion based along the same lines as myself. No, I am not from here. I am from an area where things are MUCH different. It is time for a change. Too much politics. I have been asked by many to run for school board to start the movement for change, yet I hesitate because of people like you; entrenched in the old with blinders and a refusal to change. No wonder why the South lost the war. The refusal to change has been historically famous in the South for generations and centuries. What angers me is, I am sure the same people on here touting not to speak in public against our kids and school ball team, are probably the same people that do not hesitate to degrade and down our government and political system without doing anything about it either.
  12. Once again, living in the past..sigh. Always said Coach T is very respected. Very much so that I do not stoop to calling him Louie. He is Coach. Disharmony on the team...been there since day one..sry. Also, never questioned whether or not anyone else respected him either. You are making much more out of this than it is. You sure live up to your banner below. quote name='2priceless' date='Sep 11 2008 - 07:47 PM' post='826851132'] Saying it to your buddies ( who are probably drunk on their butts at the time) in the stands is one thing..... but saying it on a message board where all the players, fans, and coaches can read your drivel is another thing. It only causes DISHARMONY on a team. This is the absolute worst thing you can do esp if you are a so-called FAN of this team. State your opinions anywhere you chose but NOT on a public forum. How about you reveal where you coached and what your record was before you bash a man who won a ring when there were only THREE classifications in the state and privates were part of the package. I can tell you that big Louie is highly respected throughout this state not only as a coach but as a MAN! Ask any one who has played against him or coached against him. Not MANY people can say that they beat RANKIN much less that they did it at Tomahwak Stadium. Do us all a favor and get back to drawing up your plays for your pee wee team and spend those thousands of hrs on the little brown grass field .
  13. Not EVER mad at a coach for not playing ANYONE that doesn't deserve to play or doesn't have the talent to play. It is a given and proven fact that he doesn't use his bench to the best of his ability, nor does he, as is pointed out by others, recruit the halls as he could. I think this goes back to being tired. This word is used not as in the physical sense, although, at his age, it is understood, but in the years and years of doing the job. Anyone doing the same job for an overt amount of time gets tired of doing it. You might love it internally, but you become more methodical in your movements and thoughts. Thus the predictable play calling. I want the Falcons to win and have a great season, as I AWAYS do, whether my son, or YOUR son, plays or not. I never questioned what happened at home as far if your son might have been grounded for a week, but football is a privilege and if my son needed to be put back into his place by losing something he loves, be it football, than so be it. Life in the future is much more important than this moment in football. As far as discipline on the team? What about the major problems with the rookies this year? It has gotten so bad, with little being done, that the players are talking about taking care of it themselves. That is when someone is going to get hurt, that my falcon mom, is my worry.
  14. I have noticed something else. The last home game I watched several of those poor players down on the field try to get people in the stands to stand up and support their team. Nothing, no support from the stands. I stood tall and cheered as loud as I could. Whistled and hollered. Whooped and chanted. Now what does that say to our team if the stands, the fans, the supporters, the one main reason they play in the Pit, aren't even paying enough attention to show them the courteously to stand up and cheer when asked? This poor player tried several times at a crucial apex in the latter part of the game to get a response and not until the Falcon came over did anyone respond. How sad.
  15. This post has been going on for several years. Not new. Besides..we are in one of the weakest regions around. Would be the same as bragging about beating all the middle school teams. No one is putting down players or coaches directly, just saying there needs to be a change. But we all know that you must be the perfect mom with the perfect son....
  16. I happen to know that this person has the credentials he speaks of. I love Coach T to death. I respect him with all I have and he has been a great mentor to my son. He is there when I need him for about anything. That is why he is a great principal. But we do not need a great principal in the fields. He looks tired. Watch as the teams enter and leave the fields. Look at the difference between home and the away team, so who jogs on and who doesn't. See who comes on to the field as a whole and which team meanders onto the field as individual players. I wouldn't do anything to hurt Coach, but maybe this will wake him up and let him realize that either he has to surround himself with better assist. coaches to pick up in his lack of youthfulness, or something. I want to hug him or do something. I know they were fired up in the locker room because of this chat alone. Maybe this did do some good. No one is degrading Coach as a person or as a Coach overall, I think what is being said is...a change needs to be made somewhere... As far as discipline, no there isn't any. I know that first hand. Well, I regress, there is, but not as there should be. And I agree, the parents do not push the children as much as they should; children are lack luster and lazy nowadays and that is the parent's fault. Albeit, it is the coach's job to instill that in the player on the field. Perhaps you need to watch the movie "The Heart of the Game" about the Seattle area basketball coach and see what I mean by instilling spirit and pride in players. Basketball or football, it is all the same. It is parents like the mother earlier who seems to think her child did no wrong by partying, etc. that teach the children that there is no reason for discipline. If my son would have been caught, he would have been off the team by ME, grounded for ...months...and not seen socially for a long time. I know that the kids do it, as I am sure mine has but just hasn't been caught yet, but he is a man in many ways already and I am proud of him. He knows, however, if I catch him, he isn't too much of a man to make him a boy again!!
  17. Yes, this year was his first year. Not sure who would take over. Haven't heard any gossip about that. Just wondering if this was gossip or not. From the Moore County parents, this is set in stone and he is gone. Too bad, he has done wonders for this program in such a short time.
  18. I agree with this statement. However, if you are not a certified teacher than most areas will not allow non teaches to coach. You might be able to assist, but not be a head. You need to do some soul searching. Good luck. Major in P.E./Health w/ minor in secondary education. The Driver's Ed and bus driver addition to drivers license is another additional pluses. Also major in other more difficult areas like math or science. There are some schools that might be lacking in certain areas and your loans could be written off if you work there for a certain amount of time. Coaching is great, but it is tedious and tiresome. I know I enjoy it and so does my spouse. Good luck!!
  19. Anyone hear anything about the Moore County head coach leaving for Oakland?
  20. You are barking up the wrong tree there. You do NOT know what you are talking about. Being a single parent majority of my children's lives, I guarantee you, they have worked and earned EVERYTHING they have ever had. They have never been handed anything and have never had anyone on their side other than me. I was a spoiled person, and made sure that my children themselves were not spoiled. Again, this has NOTHING to do with them and I do NOT understand why YOU cannot get that through your THICK skull. Lack of intelligence? or inability to listen? After talking to numerous parents of prior team members and current team members, what I am stating is what they have collectively told me. Until the last 4 years, I haven't had anything to do with LCHS. So, if I people hadn't talked to me and told me these things, then how would I have known? And by the way, why is it you only attack those who do not think exactly as you do? Wow we are only allowed to have your opinion? Doesn't hurt the team unless you go back and run your mouth (that would be collectively). I sit here shaking my head amazingly at how backwards your thinking is.
  21. Moore County was at rock bottom. They had no team pride, couldn't hardly beat anyone but Huntland and finally, the coaches were canned and a new face brought in. He worked the hallways, and met the kids. He recruited new players from other sports which brought the team from its small team of 20+ members give or take to almost 50. He worked the community and brought the Raider pride back to the community. I AM NOT SAYING in anyway that L.C. is losing like M.C. was, but, this is the difference I am talking about. L.C. used to have 70+ players. Now we are lucky to get 55. I don't know, maybe the days of old where community and school parade before ballgames the players walk tall, proud and TOGETHER are long gone. No, not near as much Falcon pride anymore. Saying it is one thing, doing it is a far different thing. I, too, can wave the Falcon Flag, and do have one. I love my Falcons, but am disappointed in things in general. But, I regress, it seems to be that way everywhere now.
  22. I read this post to someone I know who has coached in this region (but never played against L.C., different school size) and he agreed whole heartedly. He has coached for over 25 years. He has watched LC as well as other teams such as M.C., even Riverdale he said has been better, lose their pride and with that goes the inner desire to push themselves as a collective whole to that 110% to win. We have 3 or 4 kids that busted their guts every game...that was it. I have played sports for 25 plus years and I KNOW what it means for a whole team to give 110% to win and when only a FEW give 110%. It is very frustrating and only those know deep inside that aren't giving. Betcha anything, they are the ones that are going to be the first ones to get defensive too. Deflation of inner self and having to face it, makes one jump to ones defense.
  23. Thank 82cat. That is one thing I have noticed lately. From the grade schools to the high schools from region to region in this area, there just isn't much pride in the schools anymore. Just talking smack, which isn't pride, just talk. Pride is walking tall, NOT paint balling the school, giant bonfires and rallies the night before big games where fans and team players get together and get pysched. The kids nowadays just don't truly care anymore, they talk, but don't back it up.
  24. I have no idea why you would think I am a disgruntled mom. Have never said anything regarding that. Again, this has nothing to do with any of my children, nor will it ever. Open your eyes and read.
  25. I guess, you do not know what you are talking about because Coach and I have had several conversations regarding this.
