  1. you are correct i didnt play at beech or any other school in sumner county! and i was at the game and i recall 1 to the whole game from the pg i remember 2 missed free throwss from 22 and i also remember 3 straight forced shots by jj. i remember dunn scoring 26 points and a coaching staff that didnt know who to guard him or change defence. like honestly the most althetic kid in school history d1 signing jj why was he not guarding him? a zone? well ill help you there not to smart! and if i was one of the coaches i would really watch what i say cause i can defiently let everyone on coacht know whichcoach is which on there little names you want to go there DISS78, wreagle71. i didnt think so its all over i just hope for jj sake he realizes why he never got his dream of making it to the borro
  2. well its pretty obvious you just stated your a coach maybe you should check out that game film and see if its accurate cause yourstatement was not! and as for you saying talk about jobs maybe you should start teaching and be get of coacht! and as for telling me what i do wrong about my job well that would be hard to do when i make what you make a year in about 2 months! you always have a comment about other players besides taking the blame! and as for the team before this staff taking over how good was there record well number one how many years were they open? number two they actually played REAL teams and number three if spivey was there till even this year sc would have been in the boro bank on that! you always seem to blame the players cause you never have a rebutle i would personally like to see Shafers coach get tht job cause nothing will change and as for all the wins again it wasnt jenkins that one that region championship it was a TEAM like everyone knows a TEAM beats ONE! but jj good luck and I excited to see what you will accomplish in the SEC
  3. yea they did and 08 blowing the game wow it was amazing how bad the dissions the coaching staff made! it should have easily been another sc wh title on the line but thats what happens when you have someone coaching that knows nothing! larrybird i see you post alot on here are you a sc fan or parent
  4. Im not a former player seems like everybad post about the coaching staff you always have something to say are you a coach there? this years team was a one man show are you blind? the team was nothing compared to years 06 through 08 and honestly the 06 team was one of the best! the coaches once again didnt play the right players i would have loved to see a coach with a brain be there that year! but its all past sc has blown there chances so maybe one day they can get a staff to get them to the boro
  5. I wish JJ the best he had a great high school run. In my opinion he lost his chance at a trip to the boro last year. Unfortunately the coaching staff didn't know how to handle the amount of talent they had. The had much more talent both last year and his freshman year. Instead of depending on one they could have depended on 6. A team atmosphere always beats an individual when talent is even. In 8AA only a few teams could play with SC over the past couple of years. The individuality that was allowed by the coaching staff set them up for a short run in the post season. Up 20 in the first and substituting provided LA with a run and momemtum. The dream was shattered by the coaching staff. Not only was JJ not able to make it but many other kids missed an opportunity that would have lasted a lifetime. Hopefully SC will get another chance in the future. As I recall they did make it to Sub-State without JJ. They played much more team ball when he went down and had more success. Not sure how the coaching staff missed that the following year. GO STATION CAMP
  6. As a Station Camp fan I was embarrsssed by the lack of class shown on this evening. I will never understand why a team is up by 30 in the fourth quarter and continues to press, running up the score and trying to make sure your best player scores over 50 against a team that was clearly over matched. Is that really an accomplishment given the circumstances??? What were you thinking????? I hope the coaching staff realized how pathetic their actions appeared and at least apologized to the opposing coaches. The Greenbrier kids played hard the entire evening and didn't deserve to be humiliated. It was also a pathetic gesture to start all of the seniors and then sub for one of them with less than 45 seconds gone in the game. What a great reward for a kid that has practiced and played four years at SC. You really showed how much you appreciate these kids tonight. Greenbrier is a team that SC beat easily on the road. Playing all of the seniors for 4-5 minutes in the first quarter wouldn't have lost the game or even placed the game in jeopardy. I would be willing to wager they would have been winning at the end of the quarter. RKUCANTCOACH /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Jenkins played a great game. I wish it would have been against a team that had more talent or on a night when they needed those points to win.
  7. I was at the WH/SC game and wasn't overly impressed with either team. WH won, Gaines and Barnes played good. WH may struggle against a team that can pressure them and force them into an up tempo game. SC looked awful, they substitute way too much rkucantcoach and do not have good guard play. They were able to score a whopping 47 points /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> in the game with a finely tuned offensive attack, led from the sidelines by HCSM. Jenkins, West, Terrell and Brown could lead this team to the "boro" but they don't share enough time on the floor together, great job COYSM /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> . Well sometimes they get a minute or two then rkucantcoach substitutes before the players have a chance to break a sweat /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> . If SC is in the top 10 it would have to be on Jenkins reputation alone. He is a scoring machine. If anyone has watched this team recently they wouldn't rate them in the top 10 or 20. I agree that Livingston, Dyer, Howard and CPA deserve to be in the top 10. Not sure about some of the other teams.
  8. I think a new coaching staff would help although I am sure WH loves the coaching job your doing. In one of my earlier post I predicted that you have to score to win. When the other teams can focus the majority of their attention on Jenkins and not worry about guarding at times 4 players on the floor it makes it pretty easy to play defense and much more difficult than it should be on Jenkins. They have struggled against some 1a teams that they could have drilled with the right players on the floor. SC has the players to win the district tournament , region, and make it to the "boro." Unfortunately a share of the regular season district championship is probably the best SC can do since WH probably won't lose in a down district unless the SC coaches wake up and realize how they are hurting the team. Maybe 2nd or 3rd best is good enough for this coaching staff. rkucantcoach seemed happy after the game.
  9. Congrats to WH. Great win to start off the district. I bet you hope to see SC play the same players in the next game. The SC coaching staff continues to sit two of the top 4 players on the team. It amazes me that terrell and brown don't play 3+ quarters each game. They both made the all region team last year but aren't able to get nearly enough minutes a year later. It didn't take your coaching staff long to figure they don't need to play defense on some of the SC players. Defensively WH made it difficult on Jenkins last night and appeared to have a solid game plan. I'm still trying to figure out the SC strategy. I have figured out that at the end of quarters even if we are down by 8-10 Jenkins has to come out, he must be tired. Good luck the rest of the year and I hope we get a chance to play with our best team when we come to WH. Unfortunately on the SC coaches make that decision not the fans. It would make for a more competitive, fun game for both the players and fans.
  10. I am not tearing people down. Just questioning the the game plan, substitution pattern and willingness to WIN big games. I want to see coaches getting more out of players not less. I want to program to grow and build upon last years successes. Have any of you every heard of positive reinforcement. You should have since your quoting lack of self esteem and low self confidence. Not sure how you think I am building myself up. Nothing to be jealous of either. You may want to read and understand post verses getting so defensive.
  11. I am not speaking negatively of the players on this team. I have never said Jenkins is a bad player. I think he is a gifted offensive player and only wish him the very best. He will be great in college as well. I bet that he would like some help some help so that he doesn't have to work so hard for shots. I believe he could score 30 a a game taking less shots if more players were involved in the offense. My concern is they have at least 15 kids on the team that probably dream of playing in the state tournament. I am sure John shares that same dream. Think about how many kids get that chance compared to all the kids playing high school basketball. It is a memory that will last a lifetime. My belief is they will not make it as a one man show and others will need to be involved. If you don't like that statement too bad, I have seen it happen many times. The coaching staff needs to instill confidence in the players let the best players compete. That doesn't mean they shouldn't subtitute and give players a break. I have seen John on the bench when the team is down 10+ points. Everyone that has had an issue with my comments please explain that to me. I get coaches don't play, they need to play the best to have a chance to win. With SC's talent they shouldn't have lost 3 of the last 4. I hope they can realize the dream of the "Boro". Ask any WH kid what they wil remember most from last season. Lastly, I am not Jeff Terrell. Just a fan that would like to see SC in the STATE.
  12. wait till you see the kids getting playing time and tell me he is a good coach. if this coaching staff isn't willing to put the best team on the floor and let them complete then WH will be a lock for another 8AA championship. the rotation is so bad. they get out coached every time a decent team hits the floor.
  13. I don't think anyone is hating on Jenkins. He is a great player just not a team player. If you think he passes and plays defense you haven't really watched the games. The Libscomb game at SC he couldn't get a good shot off against Clayton. I remember 22-25 ft jumpers that were way off. I seen multiple air balls against Gallatin and one of the poorest shooting performances ever. Did he have any assist other than the lob to West? How many assist does he have this year. He can't average more than 2 a game. If the defense is so concerned with stopping him other players have to be open. SC will not go far playing as a one man show. I'll get back to you on that at the end of the year.
  14. I agree. I am not sure they understand the talent level they have this year. Most coaches would love to have this talent to make a run to the "BORO". This staff isn't able to get a very athletic team to play for the team instead of self. It appears most of the kids are afraid to shoot. West is shooting but he gets to sit on the bench if he misses. #22 should never shoot outside, I am sure the opposing teams are wanting him to shoot. I get that Jenkins can score, he should based on how many shots he takes. I am only aware of a couple of players that shot more. Pistol Pete and MJ. The Bulls couldn't win a Championship with only MJ. I am wondering why the SC coaches didn't empty the bench at the end of the game. Are you concerned with one players statistics or the team. I would hate for a key player to get hurt when the game has been decided.
  15. Not a good showing for the Bison. Down 17 -2 before I could my seat warmed up. Jenkins didn't look all that great against the Green Wave D. After starting 0 for 4 they were down by 10. I would be surprised if he shot 30% from the floor tonight. A couple of air balls with a hand in his face. Much tougher competition in AAA. Luna's team was much more prepared and disciplined on both ends of the floor. Newbell and Sweat were able to defend him without help. Points were spread among many of the Gallatin players and they work the ball to get easy shots. Not fade aways and off balance 3's. Another lack luster performance from the Bison who have now lost 3 of their last 4. Who have you beaten? Massey needs to figure out how to get this team playing to there full potential and stress the importance of shot selection and each players role on the team. What is going on with Terrell and Brown? They played well last year and have been non-existent so far this year. Terrell runs the offense well but must become more of an offensive threat. Brown needs to regain his confidence and become a scoring threat for this team to advance to the state. This team has 4 scoring options Jenkins, West, Terrell and Brown. Two defensive stoppers in #22 and #24. Learn to play more as a team and utilize the strengths better and this team can go far. Any coach could win 20+ with the talent mentioned above and the strength of schedule. Based on the performance of this team over the last 3 games a trip to the "Boro" seems to be unrealistic especially with lineups and substitutions that make absolutely no sense. Review the game film and learn that you must have at least 3 of the 4 mentioned above on the floor at all times to score points. The winning team is the one that scores the most. Hope the Bison can figure it out or the season will end sooner than expected.
  16. When do they play again. I heard they had no idea how to play against a 1-3-1. Doesn't Beech play that everygame.
  17. One person will not beat 5. When one player is accounting for 45% of the scoring those teams aren't as successful when playing against solid competition. I don't need film to understand substitution patterns. If you know b-ball understanding substitutions, players skills both strengths and weaknesses are visual within games. Luna gets alot out of his team and the will play tenacious defense. Teams win not one man shows. This was evident is the SC run late last year. I have talked to coaches that said SC was better and more difficult to defense when Jenkins was out. It isn't all that hard to plan a defense around one player. If more players are contributing it is much more difficult to defend. Ask any coach. I am not saying Jenkins shouldn't get plenty of shots. The few games I have seen he could get other players involved. You have to wonder about what is important if your team is up by 20 and the star is still launching 3's. As far as the Bison playing hard they didn't appear to want the Lipscomb game as much as the competition. The were out hustled for most of that game and beaten by a team playing as a team. Thanks for your comments
  18. Station Camp has only beat one solid team this year. They don't play as a team and the entire offense is centered around Jenkins. I am not sure if they run an offense other than get the ball to Jenkins. If SC was in a tougher district they would be an average team possibly losing as many as they win. If you disagree look at the resume of the teams that they have beaten and who has beaten them. It appears that they will be significantly better than everyone in district 8AA with the exception of WH. This district is down compared to teams of the last several years. They won't make it out of the region as a one man show. I have to give Gallatin the edge even on the SC home floor. Both teams are athletic. Gallatin will dominate in the paint with Malone and Newbell. As good as Jenkins is on offense he doesn't play alot of D. He will not be able to stop Malone or Newbell. I expect them to have great games. How many shots will Jenkins have to take to get his 30? It won't come easy in this game. The defensive pressure will be extreme and easy buckets inside against 5' 10 players will not be available against the Green Wave. I would also give the coaching edge to the Luna. I would say having him on the bench is worth at least 6-10 points. His substitutions make sense and he always has players on the floor that are an offensive threat to score. SC at times doesn't have anyone on the floor that can score. The strength of schedule will make a difference as well. Gallatin is used to playing against very athletic teams. SC has played against teams lacking talent. Gallatin 67 SC 58
  19. I was at the game and it was very sloppy in the 1st half. Beech should have been up by at least 10 and was down 2. Station Camp was bad in the first half and even worse in the 2nd.
