Congratulations to the Lady Dawgs on winning the District and also all of our Tournament Team our MVP and also our Coach of the Year, Coach West......Great job girls........

I am proud of the Lady Dawgs effort we played as best we could last night, considering we had 5 girls on our team that was sick with the stomach bug ,3 of them starters. They were weak but played their hearts out. I am not taking anything away from Greenfield but you are right the team we played last night was not the team we played at the beginning of the season. But Coach Willie is a good coach and you don't find many like that around here, Not one time did I see him scream, yell, or put his finger in anyone's face, he is just not that way, he remains calm and is still considerate of the girls and himself. I commend him on his coaching and wish there were more like him. I'm not saying he doesn't express himself, i believe he just does it in a different manner.. Congrats Gleason on the Win........... And Good Luck to all the Teams the rest of the Season....

First let me say Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, hope you all have a happy and safe Thanksgiving. Now, I too was at the game against Greenfield, Gleason did not shoot the ball when told not to shoot most of the time you have a tendency to do as you are told, like I said previously we lost nothing else can be said. Again we all have our opinions, and it is early in the season and we are use to being the underdog,(when has Gleason not been the underdog in 14A) but win or lose I'm proud of our girls all of them especially of my daughter, she is a good player and she plays hard. These girls may compete against each other on the court but off the court some of these girls are good friends.. I wish all the teams good luck this season......

First we don't get embarrassed, and second we lost point blank, the girls did not play ball and they will tell you that. And you are right we had 3 points at the end of the 1st quarter 7 points at halftime 11 points at the end of the 3rd quarter and 21 at the end of the game. And that's the facts. Nothing more nothing less. That game is over and so is the second so let's move on til the next ballgame. This is just the beginning of the season and like I've said before anyone can win on any given night, but you've got to play hard and play aggressive. Every fan loves their team, and everyone has their opinion and has their way of seeing how a game was played, what they see wasn't done and maybe should of been, but we are not the ones on the court. Good luck Lady Dawgs win or lose I'm your biggest fan. Good luck to all the teams this year.........

Just in case you were wandering Gleason did beat Bradford tonight. 40-33. Its was a good game, and last night against Greenfield we did not play ball, and to win we have to play hard and good everytime. Good luck Lady Dawgs and Good luck to all the Teams.

Any team has a chance on any given night, can't wait for BBall to start. And you should know to never count Gleason out, you may just be surprised at what our girls can do. Good luck to all the teams this year.

As far as I am concerned is that Gleason did an awesome job this year, and Coach Ayers and Ashley McElhiney did as well. If you have so little faith in the Gleason squad next year then why don't you just stay home. Don't worry about coming out and supporting the Gleason team, win or lose. And i also don't like the idea of you mentioning names on here of players that may or may not have done something wrong it's always the same name mentioned and she is just 17 yrs old, and their were others that have also contributed to some of the mishaps that happened on any given night. But it's always the same name so just leave her out of it. The games are over and yes there is next year and i will be there cheering them on no matter what. My daughter is on that team and there are several others that i consider to be mine as well. We may not always agree on the calls the refs make but they have to live with that, they have to close their eyes at night and remember what they have done, so win or lose i am behind my Bulldog team always have been always will be. So blame whom you wish but remember that if you were from GLeason you would be proud of the Dawgs no matter what... And remember that if you can't be supportive keep your butt at home....

First off let me start by saying Congratulations to the Gleason Lady Dawgs, you have nothing to hold your heads down for.. You have been an excellent team and played very well together, you are a disciplined team with heart and great spirit. All from Gleason are very proud of all of you. Yes we are loosing 3 great ball players but we still have a great team and young people who are ready to step up and fill those shoes. Be proud of all you have accomplished this year, we made it farther than anyone had expected for us to. Now on to the game against Middleton on Saturday night, yes it was a very interesting night we ended up being up by 8 pts and and they scored we got the ball back and lost it and in the final seconds of the second quarter they came down and hit a 25 ft jumper that brought the score to 1 with Gleason still in the lead. In the first half the fouls were even at 5 going into the locker room. Now is where it gets tricky, we only scored 2 pts in the 3rd quarter and 4 pts in the 4th, there was not a lot of shooting on either ends from either teams. We missed 2 or 3 easy shots under the goal and got called for double dribble several times,(the ball was thrown the girl dropped the ball and then when she went to dribble they called double dribble) now when on the other end the same thing happened twice (girls gets the ball drops it picks it up and dribbles) guess what no call. When the refs were asked their response was she dropped it so what was the difference why one call was double dribble and the other wasn't..Someone asked about the foul count 2nd half Gleason 9 Middleton 2..So come on get real. Yes my daughter plays on the Gleason Team and she as well as some of the others really played their hearts out. I do not know what the deal was, win or lose just call a fair game. And yes the refs did run off the court right before the buzzer sounded, they wasted no time at all on the court. Hold your heads up high Lady Dawgs you had a great season, and to those that are graduating this year we have nothing but pride for you and yes you will be missed. To the girls coming back next year good luck and always keep that Bulldog Pride in your hearts.. One more thing this was a defense game and when 2 teams can hold the other to the mid 20's then i think that says alot about both teams. 26-24 .. Good Luck to all who made it to the Boro, and no matter the calls play your ball, hit your free throws and play good defense.

Congratulations to the Lady Dawgs on a great win..You all played yours hearts out throughout this whole tournament. And no our girls don't need plaques or trophies to know they are all special, they know in their hearts, and yes they are proud of the girls who did get plaques and were named to tournament teams. Our whole town is proud of all the girls and of course our boys as well. They do Gleason proud even if they do not win, this group of young people still keep their heads up and move on. They play with pride and dignity and that does not come lightly, I'm sure every town is just as proud of their team as we are of ours. Keep up the good work and remember just take it one game and one day at a time.. And on the subject of tonights game, I just want to let Humboldt know that they have a fine group of players and they played their hearts out tonight as well..Hubbard and King are awesome as well as some others on the team (I just don't know their names) I'm not meaning to leave anyone out, but those two young ladies stand out to me..And I know they wanted it just as bad as we did..Congratulations to you all and good luck on Saturday as well.. I don't think the shot clock will be a factor. We will just have to change the way we play some of the time instead of 15 passes, we'll just pass 8...LOL... We play the way we do because we can, sometimes that's smart and sometimes not so smart.(just my opinion). But I've also seen other teams we have played that do the same thing. I guess it's just the way some coaches like to do. One thing we do need to improve on is making quicker and accurate passes..(my opinion again). I guess it's a timing thing.(Making sure the player is there before you pass it) But I'm really surprised there hasn't already been a shot clock put in..We will see...

Coach Frazier is not doing the coaching. I believe he is considered a volunteer coach...But he is keeping stats, yes he does have his inputs but in the end Coach Ayers has the final word.. Coach Frazier is well respected by all of the girls and i suppose it's hard after being a coach for so long to really get out of the habit of it. I don't feel that Coach Ayers thinks of it as stepping on his toes, he was the assistant coach and now head coach and it's new to him being in those shoes, (as head Coach). So he is learning and he is learning in my opinion from the best. Also take into consideration that Coach Frazier has had most of these girls from 5th grade, and his daughter being one of them. He is and has always been just as tough on her as he was the rest of the girls. Coach Ayers has his own style of coaching and sometimes we (parents) may not always agree with it but it is his..And no he(Coach Frazier) may not be head coach now but the girls will always look at him as Coach Frazier but they know who their Coach is and it is Joel Ayers..Also keep in mind that Coach Frazier's daughter and niece are seniors this year, so if you were coach would you not want to be there just one more year, even if you were not the head coach?... This is a good team ..Will we see him on the side lines next year? Who knows.....

The score was 51-41 Gleason..This was a very good ballgame between two good teams. I have to disagree with the post that Wallsmith carried this team tonight, yes she is a very good ball handler, i really don't think she played to her full potential until the 4th quarter. The Street girl is also a very good ball handler and i think she played well tonight. Wallsmith went to the line maybe 5 or 6 time and i believe she only hit 4? Her percentage from the line was not very good tonight..Yes late in the 4th she drove in the lane to draw the foul, but isn't that what she is suppose to do? If she can get through and draw the foul and go to the line then there is a possible 3 points. I think that both teams had their faults tonight, they both threw the ball away, and missed shots. Gleason just came out ahead.. Congratulations to the Lady Dawgs on a well deserved win... Win as a team--Lose as a team.. Sometimes some players play better that others but the win or loss goes to the whole team...

Did they have an all region team like an all district team in the district plays...? Contrats to both LAKE COUNTY AND BRADFORD!!!!

No problem...It was a good game. I was not at the game and had rather not say because like i said they were rumors....And unless i see it myself i'd rather not get on here saying something that i had heard...Its not fair or right...And if its not true then its just spreading rumors....Not fair to either teams.... I may need to clarify myself....We don't have any big girls to play inside with them...Thats what i'm trying to say... Just wanted to make myself clear so there are no big arguments about this post or to say that i am crying because we lost...Not crying in the least wish it had been different but it wasn't...this time....These teams (all 4) will match up again in Regionals i'm sure.... First off its Carroll Academy what is wrong with your spelling.....Secondly, yes we have beat other teams if you will check the scoreboard...And finally we play each team twice...where have you been every team does that.... /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> But to say Gleason is weak is just not right...They can win if they play ball...But three of the four games we lost we beat ourselves...The other team was the better teams on those nights...They wanted it more than we did...You can't expect the win if you don't play ball until the third or fourth quarter...You have to play the whole game not just two quarters...So yes the other teams were the better teams on those nights...This district is wide open....It is up for grabs......Lets see who wants it more after Christmas...Good luck to all the teams and have a Safe and Happy Holiday...To all..
