  1. Kennedy was awesome all tourney, nobody was even close to competing with him. He went and took over/uder and immediately threw Grieco and it was over. It seemed grieco was gonna try to throw the over/under then kennedy did and it looked like grieco was going to catch him but he seemed to smack his head into kennedy's chin and got rolled and pinned...all very quick.
  2. Reese broke his tibia dislocated his ankle and tore i believe 3 ligaments so a safe bet is late july early august depending on how well he recovers it was truly a tragic accident. And in regards to Deandre (31) and Montrey(3) they both have knee and hamstring injuries nothing too serious but not worth risking in the rest of the spring. All should recover in due time. I also saw the McMinn scrimmage and it looked pretty good for the most part the intensity and emotion was very high with a few scuffles breaking out here and there as a result of some cheap shots. Both teams played very hard although the starters were only out for i believe 4 or 5 series. Farraguts O line was down 2 starters so they didnt perform too well but the running by the backs was great and passing went well the defense played well but gave up some deep passes but got some great pressure on the quarterback(I heard he suffered some bruised or cracked ribs from that one hit). Anyway thats all i got too comment on.
  3. Anyone attend practice today? How did they look?
  4. Purty did use to play some defense but my guess is the that they wont put him at LB unless they really need him. Farragut isnt too big on playing runningbacks or receivers both ways unless they really need to.
  5. Cant wait for Spring practice to see Purty and Hudson at RB they look to be pretty dang powerful this year. Also Greg Grieco and Gabe White look like they will be a quite the force on the D line. Too bad Coach Doucette wont be able to coach during the spring hes really good at lighting that fire in the boys with some oklahoma drill.
  6. I actually think Farraguts D line will be in good shape 2 out of 4 are returning (they rotated in defensive ends) and 3rd kid saw some playing time as well last year so there is a solid 3 that the coaches should already be sure about as starters. At linebacker they did lose 4 out of 5 starters but there were two others who were juniors last year who saw some good playing time and should be able to settle in no problem. So really id say they are looking for 1 or 2 more D lineman and 2 or 3 linebackers. Trust me finding out who is going to play on the O line is much more important right now for farragut.....and finding an O line coach for that matter
  7. Would anyone care to share the name of this superstar game changing WR/DB and where he is from or are we looking to build up suspense?
  8. This team has such a great group of talented playmakers on offense it would be a shame if the offensive line is what stops them from being as great as they should be. I hope they solve this coaching situation as best and as fast as they can. I really think farragut has what it takes this year they will be better than last year, and i think people are over estimating how good catholic, maryville, and riverdale are going to be i just dont think they really have the size and talent as the other bigger schools that have been in 5A much longer have. Im more worried about bearden and db just because of devrin young and db's running back perhaps they will manage to carry their entire teams. On another note i have recently stopped by the newly done weightroom at farragut and dang it is nice as any college maybe not as big but these 20 new all in one squat/bench/platform combination things are something no other highschool has.
  9. I still believe Farragut is capable of a state champion year. The offensive line is expected to be as weak as it was last year with the exception of Will Jackson. Maybe the new O line coach they bring in will shape them into a better unit that we need. I think the front 6 on defense will be bigger faster and better than last years with 2 or 3 defensive lineman and 1 linebacker returning that played and 1 linebacker that got in a little and but the secondary is a little inexperienced but i hear they are moving some of the athletes from offense over to play safety and outside lineback/corner overall i think they will be better than last years defense which didnt give up more than i believe 14 points to anyone except Ooltewah the first game. Offensivly we have all the athletes and playmakers and like someone said earlier if browning has time he will be able to make any throw he wants. Purty and Hudson are both great powerful backs i just hope we learn to runblock or they will have a lot of trouble making every yard on their own. As of now its still not been revealed what O line coach they are looking at.
  10. I would just like to say i had the misfortune of sitting next to father ryan fans during the finals and what a mistake that was. The siblings, parents, and even grandparents are simply ruthless animals. Not only are they extremely obnoxious they are some of the most unsportsmanlike fans i have ever seen. Even drunk kids at a highschool football game arent as bad. The jeers and comments i heard from every kind of person was just appalling that someone could be so inhuman about a sport as if it were a matter of life and death. I suggest next year Baylor and Father Ryan dont compete in the State Tournament and have their own dual meet for the sake of everyone else.
  11. He probably does practice with him but how intense do you thinks Powell's practices get when all their kids are mostly first years and i dont think from what ive seen of the 215 is enough to give him a good workout anyway. Didnt Kirkpatrick beat Union County's 189 at the Hall's Invite?
  12. Yes Greenback had to bump up hooper and jeremy miller and it seems vittatoe too because of state dual weigh ins I think Justin Kirkpatrick from Powell needs recognized from Powell at 189...very good wrestler just a little out of shape because he has no one to work with at powell and some pancreas injury. Also Chris Berman from Farragut is wrestling 215 at region his coaches have decided he is better suited for that weight class and has a better chance at the top 4 than 189 but he has improved a lot with his technique and style and i believe hes capable of beating the Maryville and Karns 215 As far as 189 goes my top 4 is Miller, Kirkpatrick, John Davis, then 4th is a toss up between 3 or 4 kids. 171 seems to be a little difficult to figure out right now too. Is Hill from West going 160? And is Veum from Catholic not in there as well? Purvis from Halls should make it to the top 4 although he seems to lose some matches by making a few dumb mistakes and getting into bad position from what i saw at the Halls Invit. Ridenours brother from Maryville could be a contender there too.
  13. Good picks maybe a few left out here and there, but also i think theres a couple kids who are planning on going down a weight class for region right now. I guess we will have to see next week.
  14. Im glad to here that coach tate is in fact coming back he was a great line coach for Farragut when he was there and wasnt afraid to push the kids and make them work during practice. His hard nose style is what farragut needs.
