I haven't been able to really keep up on what Eagleville does. I would say that they are the favorite due to the fact that they are 10-0 and have a home playoff game. I know that CA looked good last week against Huntland, but Huntland doesn't bring much to the table. How good is Eagleville and what kind of offense are they running these days? Back when I played they usually just ran a very basic I-formation and didn't do anything to crazy or special.

Well I was at the Hampshire/CA game the other night, and I agree with the people who said CA looked bad. They just didn't try practically the whole night, other than the last 2 minutes of the first half when they went on a run. Hampshire isn't an absolutely terrible team, but there is NO WAY that I would say they can compete on a regular basis. CA didn't play good at all, give Hampshire a little credit for trying hard and that's about it. Oh yea, and if CA wants to start winning by more then they should stop throwing up threes everytime down the the court and maybe think about driving the paint. Merry Christmas to all!

Belew was lucky to play man, he was coming off a knee injury from the anderson gm. That may be the reason why, but expect him to shine in STATE! Another reason he was ineffective was because he was being double covered every play. If Beech does that then they will leave the other receivers open and they are good as well. Especially number 7, little brother Eric Belew. Even though he is only a sophomore, he is still really good and has great hands. If Beech wants to win then they need to throw the ball. Central's secondary is sketchy and they don't stay with their receivers long enough. I think Central's run stopping ability gives them a chance to win this game. They have been on a magical run and I expect them to finish up with the story book ending. Good luck to both teams! Go Lions!

CA really impressed me during their scrimmage. They are really young and small and McEwen wasn't amazing but to come out and dominate after losing so many seniors last year was impressive. On a side note, CA did have about 6 or 7 people already injured. Hopefully this isn't a sign for the upcoming year.

That's really bold. Most valuable WR? So who will C'ville be looking to to lead them this year? I know it was Bassham and #3 last year.

Yea, that is true. I hear Matthew is trying to get ready for basketball so he can have a good year and go play somewhere in college.

I hear the Defense should be CA's strong point this year. They all got a good bit of experience last year and hopefully it will translate over. It'll be hard to replace all of us starting seniors but give them a few games and they should be just fine. But saying all this, this will most likely be a rebuilding year so don't expect much.

I heard that Workman is pitching for CA. He looked really good in his last outing against Mt. P on Monday.

Kade Morgan, number 10 for Columbia Academy, is a very impressive player. Great ball skills, great accuracy on his shots and can fly around the field. Usually plays midfield for them and is all over the field both on the offensive and defensive sides of the field. If he is already this good as a Sophomore, then he will really be a force to reckon with in the upcoming years.

CA has 4 seniors this year and no juniors. This year has been a rebuilding year for them. Should be pretty good in the years to come.

Didn't CA beat Cornersville really easily a couple weeks ago? And CA beat Richland 8-3 or something like that in 8 innings earlier this week.

I guess they are having multiple FHU Lion's Cups because there was one two weeks ago involving Webb, Boyd, Columbia Academy , Friendship, David Lipscomb, Fayatte Acad, Chester Co, and MTCS.

yea. i heard they really drilled them. CA should do really well in this district.

Without their best player? I do believe Chad played tonight... So unless they have another best player then i don't know what you are talking about. But none the less, congrats to Cully on dominating the district this year. It was nice to see the CA team show up that I had been expecting over the past few games. I was impressed that Richland was able to keep it so close throughout the whole first qtr.

CA named Mike Mizer their new coach. He was an assistant at CA back around 7-10 years ago, then went to Spring Hill and Central to help coach for a few years before coming to CA to be AD this past year. I think this will be a great fit for CA and the transition will be very easy. I wish him the best.

I have that honor as well. Haven't known a better man. I'd give anything for him. He got the most out of all of us as players.

Gentleman who headed up the middle school? Who was that? And the President left because his daughter is graduating and he got a better job offer, don't believe it had anything to do against the school. I believe that they will get somebody outside of the school for the head coaching position. Coach Mote left some massive shoes to fill. Everyone will really miss him at the school. He is a great coach and an even better man.

I am not really sure why they weren't. It just felt like there wasn't any intensity on the court from them and then not being able to hit their shots and getting in a big hole early didn't help. Every team has its bad nights so i'm glad CA got one of theirs out of the way before the tournaments start.

Yea Chad didn't play the first game against us. I wasn't overly impressed with him. Not saying he wasn't good but I don't think any one person stand out on Cully's team. That isn't always a bad thing but when they come to a really good team and they need someone to make the play, who is going to make it for them? CA travels to Moore County tomorrow night and hopefully they can wake up after their game against Cully where they didn't really come out to play. This is going to be a big stretch for the district teams because it's almost tournament time and people need to start getting hot and teams need to start the upward climb to peak at the right time.
