  1. Technically it's Beech Senior High School. BSHS has a nice ring to it.
  2. I remember a certain Oakland team losing their first game at Patriot Stadium in '99. How'd that season turn out? Sometimes a kick in the rear is needed.
  3. HC's kinda always been a run first, second, and third team. Haven't really had a true pocket passer since Winchester played. They any good at bubble screens or some short passes?
  4. They also platooned both offensive and defensive lines at will. Just because the names don't show up on the starter sheet, doesn't mean they didn't play as much or at the same level (which they happened to do). The substitution was the same for most other positions with little to no slip in talent.
  5. Henry County is pretty much the same team as last year but with more experience. I wouldn't be shocked to see another 15-0 season.
  6. I'll be here in Cookeville awaiting you guys' return.
  7. Dunno if it's been mentioned anywhere else, but congrats to Dennis Tharpe Jr. for being named to the Tennessean's All-Midstate Team!
  8. Or that the HC defense wouldn't stop them. Oh well, it all worked out in the end.
  9. well, it took the sleeping giant a while to rise…but came out victorious in the end. Yet again my HS alma mater wins at my undergraduate (and now PhD) alma mater. Couldn't be more proud!
  10. this Tyson guy for Alcoa…dragging ppl all over the place.
  11. It'd be really nice to watch the Alcoa v. CPA game on TV, but it's not showing on MyTV30 (You only had one job!). Edit: says it's starting in a minute…so we shall see.
  12. Current weather.com prediction says rain should be exiting just after 7P.
  13. Weather.com is showing that the rain should die down by game time. Only special weather advisory is for flooding in low-lying areas. Some of the streets here in town are covered. http://www.weather.com/weather/hourbyhour/graph/Cookeville+TN+38501:4:US
  14. Nothing on TSSAA's site. TSSAA officials said the other day that the games would be played no matter what.
  15. It's a beautiful cold & rainy day here in Cookevegas. T-minus 4h 52m.
  16. IT'S GAME DAY, BABY! Be safe driving, Big Red Nation. IT'S TIME TO ROLL RED ROLL!!!
  17. In about 24 hours, we'll all leave this to rest…either by celebrating a championship or for a great season. ROLL RED ROLL!!!
  18. I noticed that driving directions were printed in the PI today. I'd recommend skipping exit 286 (willow ave) and taking exit 287 (Jefferson). Willow is going to be PACKED since most of you guys will arrive during rush hour and when Tech students head home for the weekend. Jefferson will still be bad, but not like willow. Even better would be exit 288 (hwy 111) and taking the 10th st. exit.
  19. I said this last championship game...the doubters will doubt. I expect a good game, but I'm pulling for The Red Swarm. If HC plays to their potential, they'll be fine. BTW, when the Div. II teams showed up today, they were led by police escorts. Kinda nice gesture.
  20. Hoping to hear this announcement again:
  21. This is from today's Tech Times campus informational email just FYI: The TSSAA high school football championship series games will be hosted on our campus Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Dec. 5, 6 and 7, and faculty, students and staff will see one major change in parking arrangements this year. You will see parking teams monitoring lots and collecting money on the perimeter of campus. For instance, teams will be stationed at 7th Street if you are entering on Peachtree Avenue. Visitors will pay a TSSAA parking fee, but all faculty, staff and students with university hangtags will be waved through. WARNING: If you arrive on campus before 4:30, you must park in the designated areas or you will be ticketed.
  22. Hadn't heard this, but I'm not surprised. Don't remember him playing this season at all. University records show that he's still enrolled as a student.
