  1. Not to take anything away from anyone but Kelli Cowan should have been named the district MVP for the regular season. She has 102 more points this season than anyone in the district (477 total points this season to #2 Shaquetta Branch from Stratford with 375) and has only scored in single digits 3 or 4 games (meaning 8 or 9 points). Also, Whites Creek did not even have a player on the all-district team this year and pearl cohn didnt have anyone on the all district team last year. The reality is some coaches even though they are the adults in the situation are going to act on their feelings instead of what is obvious. Just the way life goes...its not fair sometimes. Congrats to CPA on their victory over East. May we all be cheering for our 10AA teams as we move into the region tournament! Friday night at 6:30 first round of region Hume Fogg @ Macon County David Lipscomb @ Sycamore Goodpasture @ East Lit Westmoreland @ CPA
  2. Absolutely! She deserved the recognition! A game is not won or loss in the last 45 seconds...but a young lady that deserves her moment should get it! It's more than just wins and losses. It is about the players! The girls played hard and it just was not in the cards Friday night. If you know a lot about the game you know that it was a free throw contest and East did not win on the line. End of story...let's keep this thread about Sharonda and her achievement! Way to go Sharonda!
  3. Congratulations to senior Sharonda Brabson for scoring her 1000th career point on Friday January 22, 2010! She is the 2nd girl EVER in the history of East Literature Magnet high school to score 1000 points. We are very proud of you! Keep up the great work!
  4. I could say that FRA has definitely been a big surprise! Great shooting from the outside and Hart's girls execute extremely well. They play so hard! As far as East Lit being the biggest disappointment, their overall schedule was very tough- MC, Upperman, Riverdale- they were in all these games except Upperman. As far as district play, foul shots are killing them- they went 3/16 against CPA and missed over 10 in the FRA game when they lost by two. Just have to learn to play under pressure. The three guards they made a run with last yr- 2 graduated and one moved back to East TN with her family. Their fourth guard and starting point guard has been injured for 2 months. Guard play is inexperienced and lacks a true point guard. Anyone in MLK gym during district play last yr could say they know when it counts. CPA is a great team with athletes and well coached. Same goes for Hume Fogg. Pearl and MLK have speed and athleticism. Lipscomb is Lipscomb- need I say more- they work hard, do what they are told, and will bust their butss every night! Eakes = Ezell and they hustle for every loose ball and steal possible. the fun will continue on Tuesdays and Fridays for the next couple weeks but the only thing that counts is the first round of district so play on and play hard. This district will be extremely interesting to watch...Go 9AA
  5. Tennessean said they took it down because there was a glitch in the stat program and it was counting some games twice. Because the glitch could not be fixed and the information posted was inaccurate they removed the option. Hope this helps!
  6. East Lit over Hume Fogg CPA over FRA Lipscomb over MLK Ezell over Pearl Good night in 9AA
  7. Yeah...I think East Lit got the short end of the stick especially their two post players. Read the editor's note in the beginning of the magazine- it explains the hows and whys...but kudos to those who were mentioned- they have earned it. Now everyone in 9AA work you tail off and prove the critics wrong!!!!!!
  8. How about "great game east" How about not crying over good solid tough basketball. Give an underdog a chance...these girls deserve respect! This is the 2nd game East won at home. (check the schedule mr. basketball- the other win was against MLK) What should be acknowledged is the fact that Ezell returned their leading player to the game after being advised not to. (Not to mention the play was a jump ball.) I was sitting right behind the ezell bench and heard the trainer... If a coach is more concerned with winning than a players health, they no longer understand the reason behind coaching and mentoring young women. Did you play basketball ever in your life ???? btw...east hasn't even played FRA at home yet?!?!? Your sources are inaccurate
  9. Congrats to the Lady Eagles. This team just moved up from 1a and is very young. Congratulations on a huge victory. What a crazy district. Hume Fogg over Pearl by 23 wow! Lipscomb by only 3 over FRA. This district tournament is gonna be a doozy.
  10. You should not have woke up shpshter93.. East Lit over Ezell by 7.
  11. Mr./Mrs. Shpshter93, First of all, you are being generous on the Ezell, FRA score. Ezell will win this game by 20 or more. The Pearl, CPA prediction is a tough one, but I think you are on the right side. Hume Fogg will win, by how much, we will see. Lipscomb, East....I think you are wrong. The last time they played, East was down by 2 with 2 minutes left. East lost to Pearl on Tuesday by a shot at the buzzer. Pick of the week. East over Lipscomb 45-40 Go Lady Nights!
  12. Attended the Pearl Cohn and East Lit game tonight..What a good one. The smallest girl on the court hit a shot at the buzzer to win it by one. Pearl 46, East Lit 45 Prediction. Ezell 68, FRA 40
  13. I am a 9aa fan as well and checked the Tennessean website Friday at about 9:15 and all the girls scores were in. Everyone should make a phone call tomorrow and give them their thoughts. 259-8010
  14. Most all of the Nashville schools are in 12AAA and 9AA McGavock, Hunters Lane, Lipscomb, Pearl, Mlk, Hume Fogg, Stratford, East Lit, Maplewood, Ezell, Whites Creek....etc. Yesterday in the Tennessean, there were no box scores from any games in these two districts. I remember being in high school and being so excited to see my name and my teammates in the paper. I callled down to the ol Tennessean yesterday to see what happened and to see if they could get the scores into the Sunday paper and the only person available was Joe Biddle. Here are some of the box scores the chose to cover Lewis Co. vs. Loretto, Collinwood vs. Zion Christian, Clay Co. vs. Red Boiling, Moore Co. vs. Cornersville, Warren Co.(ky) vs Pickett Co., Hampshire vs. Summertown, Hickman Co. vs East Hickman ....and on and on just look at it. I hope this was a mistake.
