  1. your right, he's no doubt the most successful coach all of paris has had since who knows when, and he brought one heck of a coaching staff with him. i just hope everyone is just as enthused about next year as I am, and hopefully they'll hit the weights this offseason. I think the hardest thing to do is for coach thompson or hudson to work with our 4 up front and fill in some of the hole that lamar theus left in our defense.
  2. Oh, well I heard from several people that they were moving up, and if not that's fine. Maryville will just have to play us in the finals instead of some other team. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  3. Though its a year away, I'm so excited! We have Marsalis Teague and Dominique Allen returning for our offense, as well as most of our defense. Our line will be rebuilding but we definantly won't have a problem, as Jim Younger will solve it. I don't know what else to say but I'm excited, and I can't wait for next season. As we all know Mel Rose (our biggest playoff rival) and Maryville (most elite team in 4-AAAA) are moving up to 5-AAAA next year. So, 'knock on wood' but I think we'll have a enormous chance of reaching the state finals next year. I'm sure that everyone will be working hard in the off-season, but I'm going crazy! So, what do you think about us? Sorry if you don't like what I said, but I'm going crazy over here. lol
  4. Eh, seems to look like Maryville has lot's of wepons, but I'm sure every member of every school's team feels that way. I felt that way with Henry County. Of coarse Maplewood beat us in the third or fourth overtime by one point. No hard feelings to Maplewood players or fans, you beat us fair and square, but I do not for one second think y'all were the better team. But, you did play harder, better, and you had the will to win, and that's all that matters this late in the playoffs. So, moving on and getting back to the subject. Maplewood has a beast at #55 as a defensive lineman. Plain and simple, if you block him, get ready for him in a few seconds because he will still be coming. Their quarterback/defensive back/punt returner/punter (#4), seems to be the bread and butter of the team. If he has a good game, then their team has a good game. Against us it seemed impossible to get him down once he was in the open feild. He's definantly fast, but thank god we had the speed of Marsalis Teague on our team or he would have scored many times. As well as #4, #2 is a pretty decent back who will definantly run hard, if he gets hit in the back field he tries to squeek it back up feild to try to get a few yards. As for their defense, their lineman are big, their ends are quick and tall, and their backs make tackles. Maplewood's main priority would be shutting down number 55 in the trenches. I think we did a good job in doing so, but I noticed every play he would go 100% as any player should, and he gave our offensive line a hard time. I'm not all that familiar with Maryville, I probably would be if we would have beat Maplewood, but I'm sorry to say I'm not. But nevertheless, I have Maryville winning this game, I don't know a score, so I'm not going to post one. And congrats to Maplewood to getting this far - I wish I was in your shoes right now. As much as I want MHS to win for us, I just don't see it happening. With Maryville moving up to 5-AAAA as well as Mel Rose, and our offensive wepons returning, I hope that HCHS can head down to the borro next year and take one back home to Paris. But yeah, I see Maryville winning, but they need to watch out for #4 and #55.
  5. ^ That's what I was thinking. lol, first off, its a message board. which means ANYTHING can be said, with or without true meaning, and... half the stuff posted on here is pointless bullcrap coming from kids from their schools who love to talk and talk. second off.. (no offense) but since my little time in being here, i've noticed boski isn't the smartest kid in the class. lol Oh, and lastly, i ask one thing of you greyrider, and that is... say ANY word but brat. rofl.
  6. Yeah, my opinion on Maplewood is that they are a good team, not very disciplined though. And I think what will make or break this game is - if Maryville can shut down the run game (which is very possible if you look at Maryville's defence), they will win the game. Number 4 and number 2 on Maplewood are two impact players on offense, number 2 has the speed and power, and number 4 has moves and just stays up. I think that Maryville will pick apart Maplewood's defence with their short, complete passing scheme. As far as it goes for the O and D line of both teams, I think Maryville will win the battle, though #55 is one heck of a player. But all in all I see Maryville pulling out with a win of 35 - 14. But, as we saw last week, it really comes down to who's more prepared AT game time, not who has the mouth a week before. Maplewood may be more motivated as Maryville see's this scenario often. Either way, good luck to both teams, and hopefully we'll see Maplewood next year. And if anyone feels different about my prediction, prove me wrong and play hard.
  7. Caleb Dunn (Center) and Lamar Theus (DT) from Henry County got invited.
