Isn't Independence hosting a tourney on Jan 2nd that is also allowing JV to wrestle at it?

After some checking around, I have found out that their have been a few teams who had wrestlers working during the summer months with the Greco/Freestyle club "Knuckleheads". Clarksville HS- had the Isbell brothers (Chad and Brandon), Michael Perry, Tyler Page, and Justin Morrissette. Dickson Co.- had the Shepard brothers (Greg and Ryan) and Ben Knox... I also heard rumors they had a few guys down at the Greco/Freestyle club in Ashland City but this is unconfirmed. Rossview HS- had Tyler Todd, Yusuf Yunis, Tyler Bond, Cary Miller, Anthony Henry, Devonte Arrington, Cameron Beatty, Ryan Cavin, and Patrick DeMilia. Coach Woods from Harpeth said he had at an average 10 to 15 kids wrestling during the summer as well. Lets hope this summer practicing pays off for all these guys and hopefully converts to wins... we shall see!

Now that the New Region 7 has been put together and the annual coaches meeting has been completed... does anyone want to venture as to how next seasons action will play out? Will Clarksville HS dominate or will Hendersonville HS prevail? Or maybe there will be a darkhorse thrown into the mix? Also, this Region has been split into 2 districts... any predictions on who will win the district action?

Here is one thing nobody has talked about... I have talked to several area coaches near Nashville and all of them have expressed how happy they are that they do not have to pay the Hotel Bill out of their booster clubs account (one said they spend upwards of $1200.00 for the 3 day event) because they will be able to get up every morning and drive to the event. Many have already told me what items they will be able to buy from the extra money their booster clubs will be saving. Another cut in spending for these teams is the transportation cost... I guess one of the differences now is instead of 90% of middle Tennessee Wrestling teams having to spend all that money for hotels and transportation only the Chatt teams need to start ponying up the money. Call it an Economic Stimulus Plan for the Middle Tennessee teams!

Is Knoxville Catholic part of the TSSAA? Also, during the off-season is a coach from a high school allowed coach in the corner of one of his wrestlers during an AAU event? The reason I am asking is because I saw the coach from Knoxville Catholic coaching his wrestlers at the State AAU event in Crossville, TN this past Saturday... March 21st....

I am sorry but this is the biggest load of CRAP I have every seen or heard!!! How the heck do these narrow minded rule makers expect for these youth teams to practice?? They, for the most part can not afford mats or a place to put them and for these out-of-touch people with TSSAA to think they have the right to regulate such actions is completely wrong. I can understand keeping the Coaches out of the place but to punish these kids make no sense! First of all TSSAA does NOT own the schools... I do! I am a Tax payer! And if I want the schools in my area to be allowed to be used by a club wrestling team then I should have the right to say so!!! The administration staff at the schools do NOT own them either... they are owned by the TAXPAYERS!!!! Once again I agree the coaches should not be allowed but the school is NOT OWNED BY TSSAA. Now if the Governor of this fine state made it an executive order that would be different... the TSSAA does not have that right... they only have the right to regulate the SPORTS AND THEIR PERSONAL... ie the Coaches Just one man's opinion!!! Sorry about the rant!

Are the rumors true that several of the Clarksville HS wrestlers have ringworm?? Can anyone verify this or put the rumor to rest? My son wrestles in region 9 and I am not wanting to take any chances of him catching this and I am very concerned about all the other wrestlers in the region...

After some looking into Tyler Todd's matches on Saturday Thomas Berry beat Tyler Todd 10-2 Brett Jaeckel beat Tyler Todd 9-8 (on a last second takedown) Tyler Todd beat Nick White 8-2 (then the coach pulled Nick for excessive violence) Tyler Todd seemed to have a good day against some of the top ranked wrestlers in the state. He may have lost to Brett Jackeal but Jaeckel is also listed on Bray's ranking. Has Todd wrestled against any other state ranked guys? The Patton v. Berry match was very exciting!! Berry was moving very good and seemed to have Patton confused for most of the match. But being a true Champion Patton pulled it off when it counted! Great Job Josh Patton and Thomas Berry.
