  1. Two excellent teams..I don't think being in 1st place means anything this year..Most years it probably would have meant something because the 4th place team would be good but not like the teams this year..The 4th place team this year could beat any of our teams..As of now I'm not sure if it would be Trenton or Humboldt or Union City or Bradford..I think it's a pretty good bet that Lake Co and Greenfield will be the top two seeds..but we still have Trenton and Humboldt and Union City so never know..but if we win out and yall do also..Who would you rather play?Bradford,Humboldt or Trenton..Humboldt has athletes..Trenton has athletes and they'll be at home..As long as we win the first game in the district and go to the region..even if we finish 4th..will be fine with me..Don't want an upset and stay home..! Current standings have Bradford in third, Trenton in 4th and Humboldt in 5th. Bradford still has Lake Co and Greenfield so not sure how things are going to end up..But do you see much difference in any of those teams?Would you rather play Trenton at Trenton in the tournaments,or Humboldt..or Bradford? Of those 3 Bradford might be the weakest on paper, but they would still be the team I would least like to play in an elimination game.
  2. Congrats to Lake Co. T.T. was instrumental no doubt, but in my opinion the difference was rebounding. Some of that was T.T. as well, but as a team Lake Co pounded the boards. That is an area that Greenfield should have won. Lake Co. gives up quite a bit of height to Greenfield, but Greenfield could not control the boards. Speed plays a big part in Lake Co's success as well as the talent of T.T, but we all knew that anyway. You can't stop T.T., you can only try to contain her and hope she makes mistakes. Lady Jackets, keep your heads up. Take away the positives. You got down big in a hostile environment, and you fought back, not once but twice. I believe both of these teams have a shot a deep run. Now, get ready for Bradford Mon. night.

  4. Don't forget to wish your own team luck. lol
  5. Bigster, You know you can't go comparing scores. It does not work that way. Some ESPN analysts did that one year in college football to be funny, and by your argument Troy St. should have been the national champions that year. lol Bottom line is that head to head Greenfield has the edge. That might change Fri. but right now you don't sound very objective. I pretty well said that sometimes it's about matchups and that Greenfield will bump and try to keep Lake Co from running..Fouls could be a key..But I have seen teams move up in the rankings because of the body of work during the whole season..Even if a team did win by 1 point..then they win by 3,4 or 5 points and the other team is beating those same teams by 15 points or more..have to look at that..! I seem to remember some Lake Co. fans not being too happy with people last year saying that Bradford was better even though Lake Co. beat them 2 out of 3. Head to head means a whole lot more than comparing scores.
  6. me, being a uchs fan.. i can say i'm sure lake county going to win. they are so awesome:) they should win by like 15 points! lol!
  7. I don't think that will happen with Greenfield. This is a very level headed team. They don't seem to look ahead, and they don't seem to take any team for granted. If Lake Co. wins, I don't think it is because of a let down.

  9. Lake Co. is a tough place to play. If Greenfield loses again in the regular season, it would be this game. However, the Lady Jackets are playing extremely confident basketball right now. They have a great inside game with Randolph and McMullen. Jordan Gailey has turned a corner recently. She is playing like the player everyone believes she can be. Also, Greenfield is probably the best shooting team in the district. I think they have a real shot of winning this game. I know I am a bit biased, but I believe they might have an argument for that AP #1.
  10. I am not sure if any team could go undefeated in the remaining games that you guys have in district play. You guys have a 4 game stretch of Peabody, Humboldt, Greenfield, and Lake Co. 2-2 would be a strong statement going forward. UC can do it. I don't mean to sound like they can't, but I think we both agree that it is an uphill climb.
  11. I was just looking at your predictions..You are pretty close..Did you mean to have Greenfield's name at the top spot instead of Trenton's ?I don't see Greenfield even listed..lol..Just having some fun Harper..You livened the posts up for about a week and then you disappeared..! No sir, I meant just what i said, Trenton will be in the top four. Maybe Greenfield will be above Union City who knows. So Im Back now, Mr. Bigster. Maybe Greenfield will be above UC? Really? Of course they will. With a win tonight against Halls, Greenfield will be able to finish no worse than a tie with UC. That is saying that UC does not lose another district game. It is fairly safe to say that Greenfield will finish ahead of UC.
  12. Greenfield absolutely dominated this game. With the exception of about the last minute of the 2nd quarter and then about a min. in the 4th, it was all Greenfield. Great job girls. Enjoy this one for a day or so. You deserve it.
  13. Greenfield won a big game tonight. Humboldt is a very athletic team, and they brought their A game tonight. Greenfield got down by 11 points mid way through the 3rd quarter before going on a 13-3 run to close out the 3rd quarter. Greenfield wins 65 to 58 I believe. Humboldt hit a 3 as time expired to make it that close. Ready for Gleason Monday night.
  14. For the record, there is no way that Jackson co. is 39-4 in the state tournament. They have 7 gold balls. That means in those 7 years they are 21-0. They have 3 silver balls. That means in those 3 years they are 6-3. That makes them 27-3. Unless they have a few more state titles they must have more losses than that, or you are counting other wins besides just the state tournament. Also, according to Jackson Co's website, they only have 6 state titles.
  15. You are an idiot. I hear that alot about you on Coach T and I have to agree. 7A doesnt have it this year. Jackson County is above average but not much better than the rest of the pack. Clark Range is way down and Pickett is average. Put Jackson County in 14A and they would lose 4 or 5 games. Lake County or Middleton would run Jackson County out of the gym. Get real. We'll see come march just make sure you get back on here when they play. Lake Co. nor Middleton would beat JC and thats been proven on more than one occassion. Only one time has JC lost to a team from West Tn and that was Gleason 4 years ago. I think our record at the state tournament speaks for itself. 7 Gold Balls 3 silver 39-4 91% winning percentage aint too shabby and i guarantee you no one else has that good of a record at the state tournament after 44 games! Bradford would be pretty close.
  16. Bradford is a good team with one major problem. It appears anyway that every time they turn it over or there is a shot at the opponent getting a fast break, Bradford for some reason thinks they have to foul. Wallsmith was in foul trouble because of silly fouls that she can not continue to make if Bradford wants to be playing in late Feb. and early March. There are definitely times when those fouls have to be made, but not every time and especially not in the 1st quarter. You must play with more poise and discipline. If Bradford continues playing this way, they will end up meeting Gleason in the 1st round of the region tourney. What a game that would be huh? Gleason is 2-1 against quality competition. Not sure if beating up on 13A will be beneficial for them or not. We will see. I am looking forward to Monday night.
  17. You have got to be kidding me. What is up with these school closings and game postponements? We did not even get a 1/2 inch of snow.
  18. I am considering it. If I do, I will have to sit on the Bradford side. I have friends from Gleason, but I just can't bring myself to sit there. I think Bradford wins by 7
  19. What is your prediction on the score of the Bradford/Gleason game?
  20. This post might come back to to bite you (no pun intended) in a couple of weeks.
  21. Wallsmith did not get protected against Greenfield. I agree that the game might have been called a bit inconsistently, but it was that way on both sides. Greenfield did not play well enough to win. I did walk away thinking Greenfield should have, but guess what, we let it go.
  22. We turned the ball over more than usual without T.T. in the lineup ..just simple passes throwing the ball over players heads.I will say this about the Bradford coach and Molly..Good job..He's take Molly out for a few seconds late when Lake Co had the ball to keep her from getting her 5th foul earlier and played a zone..Bradford came out at the start of the game and it looked like Molly was guarding her and T.T. did a beautiful cross over dribble and went to the basket and blew by Molly and I believe he thought..better play a zone ..But Molly played smart..Lake Co put T.T. in the back on defense for a while and Molly kept driving and T.T. basically had to just let her shoot a layup..Same as on a break away layup..T.T. ran beside her her and if she wouldnt have had any fouls..would have at least tried to stop a layup but just had to let her go and watch her shoot a layup..And Molly made several free throws..Dont remember hitting a 3 pointer all night or really an outside shot at all and that's pretty unusual..She's a smart player..I know it'll be tough at Bradford but just hope T.T. gets to play the whole game..Still dont know what the official saw on T.T.'s last foul that was called..Even the Lake Co coach laughed in disbelief at the official about that call..I really think coaches have seen T.T. enough now and maybe say to the officials before the game to watch for T.T...sure looks like she could be called for charging..At least against Greenfield ..whether I thought the calls were right or not..would be called one way or another because of contact..Last night I think a couple of the call were very questionable on T.t.I believe a 5 year old would have hit harder..And the last call..still can't believe that..And I thought Molly could have been called for her 5th on a couple reach ins and late in the 4th quarter going for rebounds ..thought she got away with a couple..But I can live with that...Anyway..Bradford played what I thought was their game..at their pace and didn't play man to man,,so I kinda feel good just getting a win..But at the same time..I think Bradford could play better than they did last night..Both teams can..Bradford has to feel good about Greenfield and Lake Co coming to their place and a tie for first place..I believe that's about the hardest place to go on the road and win..But still..I'm going to predict this now..Humboldt upsets one of us..I know Greenfield beat them at Humboldt but wouldnt surprise me to see Humboldt win at Greenfield if they play well and cut down on turnovers..And an even better chance against Lake Co and Bradford at their place..I could be wrong about this Humboldt team..but I saw more talent from Humboldt than an 18 point loss..A lot of good things if they play like the athletes that they have..! Now Bigster come on man. Against Greenfield those were definitely charges. She was putting her arm into the players and pushing through them. Actually T.T. could have fouled out in the 1st half against Greenfield. She is a good player, but she is playing out of control right now. You guys might be building her up just a bit. After watching the top teams in the district, it is my opinion that Molly is hands down the best player in the district right now. It is not even a question. T.T. still has some maturing to do. She will learn that if she continues to play that way, she will stay in foul trouble for her career. It also looks like she needs to develop a pull up jump shot. I am sure she will, but I have not seen it yet.
  23. I didn't listen to the game....What happened for G'Field to lose such a big lead ?? Well, I counted about 7-8 uncontested shots under the goal that Greenfield missed. Also, quite a few lazy passes in the 2nd half. The best way to describe the lazy passes is that it was like a girls version of the alley oop only way under thrown. U.C. actually played pretty consistent from start to finish. They scored 20 in the 1st half and 25 in the 2nd half. Greenfield scored 18 in the 1st quarter. Only 13 in the entire 2nd half. They have got to put teams away when they are on the ropes. U.C. is a very good team, but Greenfield tried to give them a Christmas present. I will also say that late in the game Greenfield got a couple of crucial calls to go their way that I am not too sure about, but thankful for none the less. We are not used to the whistles going our way in Greenfield. lol
  24. I wanted Greenfield to win as bad as you did, but I did see the officials call Molly for traveling twice. My beef with refs is that they would let them get physical one minute and then call ticky tack the next. You gotta call one way or the other. Greenfield will be fine.
  25. I completely agree with you. You guys might have the best scorer in the district, but if Greenfield can keep Wallsmith from taking over the game, then Greenfield should win this one at home. Also, the Lady Jackets are so deep that they will be able to keep fresh legs on the court for the entire game. Should be a great one.
