Well Lake Co. did not win by 16 and they did not win by 12. In fact, they did not win. Honestly, Lake Co. looked outmatched in the 1st half. They are a great team, and as all great teams do, they made a strong comeback. they even took a 2 point lead in the 3rd quarter. Greenfield rallied. Lake Co. would cut the lead down, and Greenfield would extend it back. The 2nd half was like a yo-yo. In the end, Greenfield won the game. It was an amazing game. I am very proud of the lady Jackets. They all played really well.

Lady Jackets made a statement tonight against Lake Co. Greenfield was pretty dominant in the 1st half. Lake Co made a strong comeback in the 2nd half as good teams do, but in the end Greenfield gets a huge win tonight. The final is 58-57 Greenfield.

If Greenfield loses by 16 then Lake Co. will run away with the district. I think this will be a close game with Greenfield pulling it out.

No doubt, knowing what Maryville will be bringing to the table the next couple of years, there will defiantly be a "new sheriff in town" in class 6A! Being as this is the 1st year of 6A football, they are the 1st sheriff in town. lol

Unbelievable that you would come on here and dog your on teams player after a championship game win. To tell you the truth I know of at least 1 quarterback that he was better than. Also like one poster said earlier the play calling was really bad. Throw some screens and try to hit T-Rod down the middle of the field instead of the out pattern. These things would have helped our quarterback out a lot. Also your in dream land if you think a freshman would even be looked at before our back-up quarterback Hogan Goodson. WAKE UP!!! Honestly, I find it difficult to be critical of anything these players have done over the past 4 years under the leadership of the best coaching Alcoa High School has EVER seen. Our team plays with class and all of the side bar trash has stopped. As far as Austin goes, the comment is childish at best. The crack is made against a 16 year old kid who more than likely reads this board. This is not Volquest and I hope this kind of trash will stop. The kid just led us to a 15 and 0 season that includes a victory over Maryville who will be the 6a state champion in 3 hours. I think the QB played exceptional. I thought maybe he would make a mistake being a 1st year starter as well as young, but he had great composure. He was as much of a reason for your win as anybody. If he does read these boards then I want to say from the Milan fans that you played a great game man. No matter how good you are, there is always someone that will find something to say. Your freshmen play varsity? Huf, if you would remember Milan started a couple freshman back in '01. I believe these 2 freshman starters were QB #17 George West and HB #32 Rod Smith True, but for the most part, freshman don't dress with varsity. George West was a good one as well as Rod Smith. This kid Alcoa is talking about must be pretty special too.

Huf just let me say that Milan MORE than deserved to be on the same field with Alcoa, you guys proved it last night. Fans will be fans, but please don't think that Alcoa strayed from a gameplan and not play the game the way they wanted to. Were there breaks? Yes! However great teams take advantage of them. The O line play has just been so good that people forgot that Alcoa also plays outstanding "D" Do we brag? Of course we do, but flip it around and think about it wouldn't you? I never thought Alcoa strayed from their gameplan. Also, I think you have a fine offensive line. I just envisioned more from all I heard. Maybe Milan's line had something to do with it, I don't know. I know 2 things for sure, 1) you guys are awesome, and 2) it was a great game.

Show me on the Alcoa thread where I said that Alcoa did not cause our turnovers. You won't find it. I gave them credit for them. I said it wasn't a domination. Alcoa beat us 21-0. We scored 8 more points then that in the 2nd half against York. We made adjustments against York, and they worked. Also, I have never been the one to start these things, but I will most certainly defend my team against sore people such as yourself. The sad thing is that your team had been out for awhile when Milan/York met. Are you serious? Give us your address, and we will send you some kind of award to put in trophy case if it will make you feel better. Not looking for nothing but respect to York as an opponent. Most did but not you. Many of the fans refused to give Milan credit for the win. It was well if we played the 2nd half the way we played the 1st half then maybe or if we don't turn it over then maybe. You are right for once. We will be back. I did not act like York did not belong. Before the game, I gave my prediction. I said we would win by 5 or so TD's. We won by 4. After the game, I gave my opinion. York played an excellent 1st half. We made adjustments. We got some turnovers. We won. Then York started making excuses for the loss. If this or that had not of happened. Guess what? It did happen, and it happened because of Milan's D. So I got a bit upset because of the insanity of it all. WHatever dude. You win. York should have played Alcoa. Milan was so lucky to get into the playoffs. Maybe our luck has run out. You know with a Defense that is obviously sub stanadard and an offense that could not compete in your district, I guess we may have to wait a few years for another playoff appearance. Livingston would have given them a better game too. I guess Milan is not so good after all. The only thing I said that was close to a negative was that I was not impressed by your O-line. It is not that they were not good, but they were built up so much that I was expecting it to be more. I don't believe any defense held you guys as low as we did in yards, 1st downs, and forcing you to punt. I would like our chances against anyone in class 1-5 except for Alcoa obviously.

I don't think BigDaddy is from Alcoa. Someone said that they weren't impressed with our o-line. Apparently you didn't see all the holes they were opening up for Toney. You also don't realize that without our o-line we don't get 3 td's. Our defense was awesome last night, but without our o-line we don't win the game. This year's team was just that: a team. Toney may have gotten a lot of attention, but he's the first to point to the o-line. Milan's d was pretty good. Now that we've actually seen Milan in person, I'd say CAK-Milan or Loudon-Milan would be 2 really good games. It would be interesting to see who would come up on top of those games. Loudon was able to put 3 points on our 1st string, and during our last game CAK was actually beating us at 2 points in the game (7-0 after the 1st play of the game, then 10-7 before we pulled away). Maybe Milan should've taken that field goal instead of going for the td. Oh well...watcha gonna do? Again, was disappointed that so many Milan fans left in the 3rd quarter. Come on, this is the state championship game! Anything could've happened when the score was 14-0. One td and Milan was back in it with a blocked punt or a fumble recovery. Very disappointing. Congrats to Alcoa for an undefeated season and a 6th straight title! Can't wait to see them back in C'ville next year! Hey, huf: Last night Alcoa did what Alcoa's done every game...run the ball. No razzle dazzle plays like years past, just get the ball and ram it down the opponent's throat. The game was just what Alcoa fans expected. Milan does have a good defense...was it the best we've seen this year? I'd say it's close, just wouldn't go out on a limb and say it was the best. Look, I know I came off pretty bad last night, but I still say it was not dominant. Also, they way you guys talked about your O line, I was expecting Toney to be able to dial his yards. That did not happen. I saw plenty of 0, 1, and 2 yard runs last night by Alcoa because of the lack of a hole. For about the 5th time, I agree that you guys were and are the better team, but to say that was a dominating performance, that is misleading.

Watched the same game as you I reckon. Never said you didnt deserve to be there....But are you not going to admit the whole place knew Alcoa was gonna run the football? Is it beyond your abilty to admit that Milan is a 2-3 TD underdog to Alcoa. Twice. What about those goal line stands, you crammed everybody in including the tuba players out of the band to stop the run. Couldn't do it. 21-0 is total domination. Obviously on goaline plays it is going to be more in the box. All I am saying is that without the 2 big turnovers inside the 10, the game would be more like what the stats look like it was. Yes we got beat by 3 touchdowns, but anyone that knows football knows that the score is not always indicative of the type of game it was. You guys proved to be the better team. You caused a couple of those turnovers outright. Very good team and obviously the best in the state, but to say you dominated is just plain crazy. most of those stats came from one pass play in the 1st qtr. and the rest came on the first possession of the 2nd half. And you say look at the stats....well you didnt talk stats last weak. you talked D, well you got it. the golden er silver goose egg. How bout that for D...3 scores in this game was very indicative of total domination. I did talk stats last week. However, I am not getting into last week's game. Ask Loudon if they think they got owned in their playoff game against you guys. I would bet not. And yet Loudon did not outgain you or get more 1st downs. That 1st down stat is pretty impressive because I thought we would win and not have more 1st downs. If you take that pass play out in the 1st half, we still have almost the yards you have. And we had more than one drive in the 2nd half.

The F5 is the most dominate small school the state of Tenn has ever seen 6 straight does not lie I am not disagreeing with that statement either. The performance tonight was not this "dominating" thing though. Especially the way you guys talked it up. Saying how you were going to run it down our throats and put up 45 point on us. It was a very evenly played game with the exception of 2 turnovers inside our 10. Any objective person would have to agree. I am not saying that Milan was the better team. We were not. Everyone is giving kudos to the Alcoa offensive line, but I was not impressed one bit with them. This Oline that I heard so much about and you amassed 168 yards. Not too impressed.
