Sure will! Alcoa WILL run for 250+ yards against Milan. JaRon Toney will finish with between 100-150 yards. Alcoa will only throw the ball 4-5 time max. PLUS, Alcoa WILL hold Milan to 14 points or less! I'm not scared to put it in black and white. I stated Alcoa would win 28-14 last year. Everyone said Milan would score way more than 14 points.............yawn......samething this year. Alcoa will produce sub- stained drives taking 6-8 minutes off the clock. This by simply pounding the rock right at Milan's line. Nothing fancy. BUT, something Milan WILL not stop. Alcoa will control the LOS and make Milan take it. See if I am not right! Since some of you East Tn folks like to correct word usage and spelling, I will do the the same. What the heck is "sub-stained" drives? I know what "sustained" drives are, but I have never heard of a "sub-stained" drive. Is that a drive that was stained beneath the surface? lol I couldn't resist. lol

Okay. Remember you asked. While walking back to my vehicle after the game last year, I was discussing the game with a friend. Several of Milan's band members, along with what I thought were Milan fans, commented that Milan was a young team and they were not used to playing in that kind of game. They also stated that Milan did not play like they had during the season. Kinda what you stated above about executing. Again, these are the kinds of excuses that I am talking about. I again would say that Milan's lack of execution was due to a very good Alcoa team (both defense and offense). Rather than stating the obvious, seems like Milan fans wanted to excuse the loss to their lack of performance alone, rather than Alcoa just being the better team. Therefore, I tagged LAME excuses. Again, this was last years game and has no bearing whatsoever to this years game. If I remember correctly, we held your vaunted run game to about 3 yards per carry last year. Was that because of our defense or because of your lack of execution? Just wondering. Now don't give me some lame excuse like I have already read on here before.

In the playoffs, Milan played #51 Stewart Co with a 6-5 record, #64 Oakhaven with a 6-6 record, #8 Camden Central with a 11-2 record(quality opponent), and #24 York Institute with a 10-4 record. Total record of teams played in the playoffs: 33 wins and 17 losses. Overall, the 2 teams ranked the highest and with the best record that Milan has played is #14 Crockett Co at 11-2 and #8 Camden Central at 11-2...if you look at these 2 teams closer, you will see that Crockett Co played the #88 ranked schedule and Camden Central played the #58 ranked schedule. Milan has also only played away from home 5 times this year and 1 of those being at 0-10 Gibson Co. If you look closer at Milan's schedule(ranked #46 toughest in AA by the way) of teams played, Milan's wins, and opponents wins and losses...it is not as impressive as thier record indicates. Now, with that being said...I think Milan is a very good football team and has a great set of linebackers! Being 14-0, is a big accomplishment and Milan is very deserving of being where they are going to be this friday eve. I am simply trying to provide some facts and records to back up some statements from us "uneducated" East Tennessee fans as to why we think Loudon(notice the O and not the E in the spelling) and CAK could compete and possibly beat Milan too. Lets look at our Tornadoes for a minute. We opened up on the road at #1 ranked and defending 4A kentucky state champions(15-0) Bell Co who is 13-1(only loss to Alcoa). The next week, we played #1 ranked 6A Maryville(who in some polls are ranked in top 50 in the nation). Maryville is 13-1 heading into thier state champ game with thier only loss a 41-24 defeat by Alcoa. We then played #13 Loudon which is another one of our big rivals before playing the Fulton Falcons whom were the preseason #1 team in thier class(AAA) in the state(currently #16). We then played through 4 games of opponents who had below .500 records. We finished up against McMinn Central who was ranked #8 in the state when we played and then for the region championship against #3 ranked and undefeated CAK. We played #36 Tyner 6-5, #5 CAK 10-2(both losses to Alcoa), #13 Loudon 10-3(1 loss to CAK and 2 from Alcoa), and #9 Elizabethton(1 loss to CAK, 1 to a North Carolina team, and other to Alcoa) in the playoffs. Our strength of schedule is #2(dont see how!!!???). Also, 6 of the "chump teams we demolish" every week had schedules ranked in the top 20 toughest...including CAK at #14! For that matter, Loudon also played a tougher schedule than did Milan. Loudon also went on the road in the playoffs and defeated previously undefeated Polk Co whom was ranked at #3 just 1 spot below Milan. All of this is some evidence and some facts that help support our OPINION of why we think CAK and Loudon could play with and beat Milan. However, like I said earlier Milan is a good team(just like CAK and Loudon), is 14-0 and going to the state championship game...they just get the break of being on the other side of the state! Now that we have given some things to back up our side...PLEASE, do tell us the stats and reasoning that back up your statements about us playing "chump teams" and that teams in your region would beat teams in ours???? Again, just to provide factual evidence of why we think CAK and Loudon can play with you: All of the stats you posted above were obtained against the #46 ranked schedule in AA that included 4 games vs single A teams, 6 games against teams not ranked in the top 50 in thier class, an 0-10 team, and only 4 teams during the regular season with a winning record. --- Lets look at CAK 1st: they scored 342 points in 12 games = 28.5 pts per game! They gave up 172 points in those 12 games = 14.3 pts per game! COMPARED TO MILAN: they are averaging 10 pts less a game and giving up 4 more points a game...MILAN has the #46 ranked schedule and CAK has #14!!! CAK is this close to MILAN with a schedule almost 4 times as difficult, and playing the #1 team in the state twice(which was thier only 2 losses and who has the best defense in the state). CAK also played 4 teams ranked in the top 10 in thier class and 1 team ranked in top 4 in lower class. --- Saying CAK can beat MILAN doesnt sound like such an upset now, huh? --- Lets look at Loudon: they scored 339 points in 13 games = 26 pts per game! They gave up 132 points in those 13 games = 10 pts per game! COMPARED TO MILAN: they are averaging 13 pts less a game and both are giving up 10 pts per gm on defense. Again, Loudon played a tougher schedule per rankings and played CAK once and ALCOA twice. Loudon played 4 teams ranked in top 4 in the state...3 of those games on the road!! --- Lets look further at Milan: "In 14 games this year, Milan has given up 140 points. That is 10 points a game. We have scored 549 points in 14 games. That is 39.2 points per game." -- Schedule strength in AA is #46. The 2 best teams on Milan's schedule were Camden Central who averaged 29.2 pts per gm and gave up 14.5 on the #58 toughest schedule...a margin of victory of 15 pts per game on the #58 toughest schedule! Crockett co averaged 33.7 pts per gm and gave up 13.5 on the #88 ranked schedule....the avg margin of victory against the #88 ranked schedule is 20! CAK and Loudon dont look too bad huh??? I believe the "uneducated" fans in East Tennessee are more than justified in thier opinion supported by these facts that CAK and Loudon can play with and possibly beat Milan! The reason is that there is no common opponent. How do you know Milan would not do the same thing against that schedule? Did CAK and Loudon take starters out of every game at the half? Deion24 thanks for the props.We(Loudon) beat a 6a,2 5a,and 3 4a schools.There were no 1a or 2a schools on our schedule.Milan's schedule hasn't prepared them for Alcoa.Ask Elizabethton about that.If their not in Region 4 they just don't understand. Well we did not play any 5a or 6a teams, but there are not many to choose from and we have many historical rivals. We did play four 4A teams, and JCS is not a class A team, they are division 2.

GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!!! Looking thru a one way glass..huh! Options made the best post when said it was in poor taste but no one is ever happy when a kid gets hurt. York came in manhandled Milan as much as Milan did York. The turnovers were the difference in the game and thats part of it. Get over it. The "Dawgs" won. Now go get your silver ball and be happy. Talk about a one way lens. You never man handled Milan. That is too funny. We won the battle up front consistently all night long. It is always a problem when someone meets a team that throws as much as you guys do because it can't be simulated in practice. However, the adjustments were made, and we fixed it. Numbers dont lie...All that yardage didnt come against the cheerleaders... Now, you know as well as I do that the bulk of your yardage came in the 1st half. We have already complimented you guys on the way you played. All the trick plays, the 4th conversions, etc. Good job. Milan made adjustments and shut you guys down.

In case you don't know...CAK had 2 losses both to Alcoa and Loudon had 3 losses; 2 to Alcoa and 1 to CAK. Common factor is that Alcoa topped them both but that when playing either outside their district or against bigger classifications they won every game. I did not say that Milan would beat them or that Milan was better. I said that for a person to say that, they would need some kind of statistical evidence for it to be in any way objective. You guys are calling Milan fans cocky, but all of you from east Tennessee seem to be saying a lot of cocky things that can't be backed up period. How can you say that just because Louden and CAK only lose to Alcoa that Milan would lose to Louden and Alcoa. Don't forget, the only team we have lost to in the past two years is Alcoa also. If you would read the posts you would see that we are not worked up because someone says Louden and Alcoa are as good as Milan, but they are definitively saying they are better than Milan. There is no stat that you can produce to back that up, and since they do not play each other you can't make that kind of statement and be objective about it. That is what works us up.

No one can argue that year in and year out the best football is in blount co. The thing that gets us is that everyone over there jumps on Alcoa's and Maryville's coat tails. Many of our middle of the road teams over here in W. Tn would be play off teams in the east. I know that statement won't be taken well, but the truth hurts sometimes. I am so ready for gameday. Then all this talk will change. Someone will get congratulated and someone will do the congratulating. I honestly believe Milan will be the ones being congratulated.

Thanks Korn for your comments. I would love to see Loudon or CAK play Milan; I think both would beat them as both teams are excellent. Have you seen Milan? We aint too shabby either.

(sarcasm obviously) I would imagine that you were probably one of those kinds of fans with your own team. I for one have not heard any Milan fan say that we can't be beat, but if you expect any of us to concede a game before it is even gameday then you my friend are crazy.

I am not for sure what you are referring to as "Smoke and Mirrors" on that play. A good fundamentally sound QB and Center know that when the "A-gaps" are unoccuppied that you walk up and execute a silent count. After the tap by the QB the center then snaps the ball and blocks the nearest defender. The ball was snapped between the centers legs as was ever other snap during the ball game. At least understand football before you get on here giving lessons. Then don't act like one. Don't expect to get on here and bash players, parents, and fans and not expect backlash yourself. The statement was in reponse to one of your fans saying you guys gave us a beating physically. It was in poor taste, but not meant to say we were happy about, but to say we banged heads with you guys for 48 minutes and came out clean. I believe they retracted and most everyone understands how it was meant. Milan played very well in the second half and took advantage of our mistakes. Good luck to them in their pursuit of the Gold. We did take advantage of your mistakes, but it was mistakes that were caused by Milan. I hate it when the defense does not get credit for the TO. Sometimes they do make plays. Just wanted to make sure everyone knows that Milan made those plays. They were and are the better team. That is not to say that York is not good, but Milan was the better team.

Sorry, wrong answer, but thanks for playing. Do you honestly think with Milan in the red zone and a score making it a one score game, that coach Rankin is not going to have his starters in? You are crazy if you believe that. At no time were all of the starters for Alcoa off the field. Im glad you saw last year's game get ready for the same ending only it won't be as close of a score this year. I did see last year's game. I was there. I don't believe it will be the same outcome this year. I think Milan wins by 10.

Well I remember that game and Williamson was very impressive, but I don't recall that there was ever any real concern on Alcoa's part It is easy to say that 1 year later, but it did not sound that way with about 4 and a half min. or so left in the game and we were in the red zone. It seems you and many Alcoa fans have turned last year's game into the typical fish story. It just keeps getting a little bit bigger. That's o.k. with us because all that matters is we got beat by you guys last year, and now we want a 2nd chance. We will see how this one turns out in about 4 days.
