  1. I played for coach Shanks when I was at UTM. He is a great defensive coach. I'm glad to hear he is still in the game. I had some great times at UTM and learned a lot of life lessons the hard way and still found a way to get two degees. Thanks coach Tom Andrews Fullback 92-93 UTM
  2. Are they putting down sod? If so over the whole field? I hope they are improving the drainage around the field. I remember many a night spent standing in the water on the sideline if there was heavy rain. It has been improved over the years but if they are putting down sod it should be improved on know. Not the best weather right now to lay sod. Glad to see some work getting done.
  3. Grundy may not have any titles in football but there is still a rich history here. There have been great teams here including the team in the late 60's that won 9 or 10 games, the late 70 that had one of my brothers as a lineman who block for a soso QB Pick and some running back named jerry. I think they could play a little. The team in 83 who had no shot at beating Marion and all but about 50 fans remained when we were down 21-0 at the half. Can't remenber what happened next I would have to ask a different brother who always reminds me that his team beat Marion. There was the 91 team I played on that was the first from Grundy to make to the playoffs in the two team format form each district. That was a great game we both played down there that year but we came up on the short end 14-8. Then the 93 team improved on what we did by going 10-3 most likely the best team Grundy has had. Grundy improved again in 99-2004. Brewer rebuilt Grundy and made it to the playoffs in 99 and 2000.the 2000 team had six freshman play in the second round playoff game and KC took over that team in 01 and when they were seniors only got to the second round. I worked for KC. Learned a lot. Some good some not so. There is history just not titles and not the consistency. Hope that will improve.
  4. If Dillon has made gains like that then he has done a great job! Hopefully he has learned to stay off his fourwheeler. I hope he takes this year serious and is able to play somewhere next year!
  5. You haven't been spending to much time in class have you. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Make sure to get a schedule to me or dave. I've got a little extra free time this year and would like to see a game or two. Be careful not to study to much.
  6. Played and coached against coach Brown during my time at Grundy. Those games against Bledsoe were always hard fought. Luckily we were able to win those games back then. Best of luck to coach Brown. Many Grundy folk will never forget the trip to York when the officials didn't show and we waited for some to come from another game. We got home around 3-4 that morning but at least we got the win. Better double check with TSSAA and make sure you've got your officals Dickie. /roflolk.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflolk:" border="0" alt="roflolk.gif" />
  7. This is Tom Andrews. Nick came and talked to me today and we talked about football. He said he felt the program needed to go in a different direction at this time. I would like to wish Nick and Grundy Football the best of luck in the upcoming campaign. I would also like to thank all the players, coaches, fans, and parents that I have worked with over the past thirteen years. Again Best of Luck.
