As the season gets closer, hopefully this cold weather will leave us soon!!! I am ready for some BASEBALL!!! Lets hear from all you dedicated fans from Central, Polk, Meigs, Sweetwater, and Sequoyah! How has the offseason went for everyone? Has anyone got to practice yet? The Chiefs have suffered two setbacks. We have two kids (R. Coley and C. Arp) that have arm troubles and look to be out for the season.

Sequoyah High School Basball Boosters will be hosting the Second Annual Wood Bat classic Showcase Tournament 18U & 16U (Travel Teams and High School teams Welcome) 4 Game Min + Championship games 16 Teams Max Cost= $450.00/team + 1 Dozen of Baseballs Several college scouts will be represented! A list of schools will be provided once they are committed. Games will be played at Sequoyah High School and Hiwassee College All proceeds go to fund the new lights at Sequoyah High School Basbeall Field! It is great to hear that Big Bell is playing at Tusculum. He will be a contributor before his 4 years are up. That is a result of his determination and hard work in the weight room. If we could just get these young guys to understand that we would be so much better. One of the freshmen partents said they could begin working out after the first of the year but I am not sure if that has happened yet. Helms, Dyer, Arp, Bowers, and maybe a few more are in baseball and will join the team after baseball is complete.

Lord help us!!!!!!!! Not another Sequoyah post. Let me sum it up; Yes the weight room is open, no, no one is showing up and Yes, if anyone did show up I'm sure they worked really hard. NEXT!!!!!!! You know, if it is such a bother for you to see another Seqouyah post, you could just go on past it and not even click on it. As a matter of fact I'm sure the Sequoyah fan base would rather you do that than interrupt the thread with remarks like that. But then I'm sure that these topics are much more enjoyable than the ones on your thread; "Does this purse match my eyes?" or "Do my thighs look fat in this skirt?". GO CHIEFS!!!! AMEN!!!!

Monroe County Mudcats is a 18U Showcase Team. We will be playing in Georgia, TN, NC at multilple colleges. This is a great opportunity to showcase you skills in front of many college coaches. We are based out of East Tennessee. We are looking for great athletes that have great attitudes and want to compete at the highest level! Who should make all county? When will the official all county team be announced. Odell should be a slam dunk for County Player of the year!

They have started working out this week. yesterday I heard they about 30 in attendance. On Tuesday they only had about 10.

Sequoyah did loose 5 seniors last year. I think this years team will be improved. This team will have young depth. They have a strong Junior and Soph class. The incoming Freshmen class may be the most talented in recent years. The Madisonville Middle School Team went undefeated this past year and many of these players have played competitive baseball for several years. The future is very brite at Sequoyah the next few years! Go Chiefs work hard this pre-season! Order of Finish McMinn Central Sequoyah Polk Meigs Sweetwater This could be the most balanced this district has been in the last few years! Anyone can win it this year!

Yea, keep running that mouth about Sequoyah. You have to realize we started from scratch 3 years ago when coach K came on board and have improved each year. We split with Polk and Meigs and Sweetwater last year. Sequoyah Junior class is similar to Polk, it is pretty strong. We will see what happens on the field this year!

Does anyone know when these players will be announced?

I think the plan is to get started soon! I not sure if they have. Tic Tock the clock has already started for next year. We can not afford to do as we did last year or the results on the field will be the same. Work hard guys! This will be a large senior class with a lot of good underclassmen support. With a lot of hard work this offseason this can definitely be the most improved team in the state for next year. Hit the weights HARD, don't wait until Aug and try to make a difference. Winning starts NOW throughout the offseason. We must get BIGGER, FASTER, and STONGER! GO CHIEFS!!

What does everyone have coming back?

Have all the teams in District 5AA been eliminated from the playoffs? And/or are the playoffs over? All have been eliminated but the playoffs are still going on

When will the all dristrict players be named?

Congratulations to the BEARS on making the playoffs!!! I think they will make a solid run in the playoffs. It all starts tonight. BEARS will win 35-14! We are proud you and bring home some respect to Monroe county!! From a Chiefs Fan!!!

Do not know about that, but does anyone know why Coach Satterfield did not stick around to be with the seniors after the game? GREAT QUESTION! I think this week will be a good one!
