  1. yes great job against clarksburg with younger guys steppin up in the playin role. and SC is always trainin young coaches because no one has much of a chance to stick around, in every sport. the only coaches that have been able to stick around through the highs and lows are the bramletts, and coach holliday has now solidified his position. other than that, fans become to get irritated with how things are goin and the trigger gets pulled a little too quick. but i have faith in coach holt and hopefully this win against clarksburg will be a motivation booster in the harpeth game tonight. good luck rebels
  2. good reply ksgovols... ok Stewart County fans, I'm from SC and as a fan or parent...you should never turn on your own players or coaches. Hes a rookie coach, but has been improvin over the season. if he was coachin the same way and we were winning more, notin would be said...but because SC has lost a lot of close games, the record isnt as good and it all gets put on the coach. become a true SC fan and respect your players and coaches no matter what happens
  3. lol i just wanted to help you out a little, get things stirred up
  4. im going by the way the 2nd half unfolded, fouls were pretty even in the 1st half but not the 2nd. i agree with you on the holding jersey part but that didnt take place as much as the foul at the high post. the thrown elbow shouldnt have happened, but there was a waverly defender all over him and a foul was never called. so he lost his composer. in my earlier post i was intending more towards the 2nd half of the game. when all this crap is goin on and there is only 4 team fouls on a team that pressed "most" of the game, its a joke. they would call tick tack fouls on SC and wouldnt call the same thing the other way. and u cant say they didnt call call the fouls on SC cuz waverly was in the bonus fast, whereas SC couldnt get in the bonus. but anyways, im done talkin bout this game...more games to be played and talked about...unless other ppl wanna keep it goin
  5. is this message board for boys basketball or girls basketball, keep to the subject. Im talkin bout the boys game. seriously how can you say that the calls didnt go more towards waverly in the BOYS game. only 4 fouls in the second half called on them with 2 min left?!? i mean crap, yall pressed all game and dylan smith couldnt even catch the ball at the high post because he would have a guy or two on his back every time he caught it. he even went to the ground a couple times with someone on top of him and there not be anything called. now im not sayin it wouldve changed the outcome of the game, im just sayin that the refs were definately not on SC's side last night. when someone is on another guys back preventing him from catching a pass, its a foul...but never called our way. on the other hand when waverly got a fast break layup and we graze a shoulder or jersey or give a little love tap, the ref would call it. im just sayin they need to be more consistant. now since your obviuosly stuck on the girls game considerin that your there mainly for that game anyway, the refs didnt do much better. the difference though is that game it was bad both ways. but im wonderin how a girl from waverly can go to throw the ball in and never be out of bounds. she threw it inbounds without being out of bounds and the refs doesnt pay any attention and waverly comes down and hits a 3. talk about bad reffing. thats jr. pro stuff there. and i know what the clockkeeper said might not have been the correct thing to say but officially it is not his job to make sure players get into the game. the referee is supposed to blow them in and it was their fault for not looking at the scorestable. yes usually the clockkeeper does it but the thing is, he doesnt have to because the player cant always be seen sittin on the ground out of his sight. but the player is always in the refs sight. thats all i have unless you give me more to backfire with. o and ksgovols, i guess your startin to get your controversy stuff you've been wanting since its now january and tourny comin up soon. good luck to everyone in the district
  6. First of all, ksgovols, i understand what you mean now by mathematically during the season, but i was thinking come playoff time. any team can win come february, and thats what i was thinkin of...not during the season. as for the game tonight between waverly and sc, it was rough. SC started hot but started to play scrappy with too many turnovers and missed opportunities. it was a 16pt game but was close most of the way with SC never really out of it til the end. What i think is funny is how everyone says that when they come to SC they play 5 on 8...SC's 5 against the opposing team and the refs. tonight it was the other way around, SC had no shot at gettin to the foul line because the fouls were lopsided. with 2min left in the 4th quarter, waverly had 4 team fouls while SC had 10+. Coach holt made a smart move in the second half movin dylan smith to the high post to help open up the offense, but could never get goin because he had 2 people gettin a piggy back ride on him every time he touched it, and it was never called. but if waverly got a fast break (which happened way too often) the ref would call a foul if SC grazed a players jersey with it being more of an anticipation call. i understand if the refs wanna let them play, but seriously call it both ways. SC had 1 or 2 guys foul out and i dont know if waverly even had a guy in foul trouble and thats with waverly pressing full court the entire game...doesnt really make sense to me. and another thing, the ref allowed waverly players to stand in the lane forever, the only reason it was ever called is if someone yelled it for 5 seconds. but anyways, with that off my chest, waverly played extremely hard and were very focused on the job at task. they did well penetrating the gaps in the zone and bustin the open shot, as well as drawing contact (something the refs only saw on one side of the court). if waverly ever gets goin, they can be deadly from the 3pt line and is a lower seeded team that could go to the top in the tournament. good luck to both team the rest of the season and good job on a hard fought game
  7. The guy from Stewart County your talking about is probably Dylan Smith. As for the MC-SC game went the other night, SC just let the game get away from them. They let a guy hit 7 3s knowing that he was the only scorer on centrals team. SC started hot and had things goin good til the end of the 4th, but thats how it always seems when SC plays at MC. SC always leads until the 4th and either gives it away or alomost gives it away. of course there were a few questionable calls at the end, one being an over-and-back call when SC never had full possession across the line (1 foot), and the ref later admitted he messed up the call. then on the final SC possession, boone smith and taylor craig had shots at the gamewinner and there was obviously some contact but it wasnt gonna be called, even though those same fouls were called earlier in the game...but owell that game is over and lookin forward to a 3 game week. As for who still has a chance come playoff time, i dont really see how you can count SC out. even though they are 7th, they have lost a lot of close games and beat your harpeth boys. if SC can get on track and play with the heart they did that night, they still have a chance to do some good. still a lot of season to be played with it being such a tight district. and i agree the coacht trash talk and everything has really slimmed down this year but hopefully it will step up come playoff time. i think a lot of it has to do with the big decrease in talent like u said.
  8. well ksgovols, i wouldnt say that throwin the ball at the other player is a foul under the circumstances that it occurred in the game. everytime that an SC player threw the ball at a harpeth player was to make it out of bounds on harpeth. i jus see that as part of the game now. you can pretty much beam someone with the ball in the face and not have a foul called on it as long as you are fallin out of bounds or something like that. And i agree with you that most charge/blocks are judgement calls on the refs, but the one i pointed out i have no clue how they called a block considering that he was completely set and still with the ballhandler lowering his shoulder. but owell that game is over. we all know that the refs were bad both ways. and by the way i believe we used to have the same rule about the student section a couple years back but the size of students sitting there has decreased big time a lot of ppl there were former students before going back to college. but like you said, it is still anyones season. top to bottom anything can happen. its gonna come down to injuries and what team is hot going into the postseason
  9. Ya i agree with most said bout Stewart-Harpeth game. Stewart dominated mostly throughout the game and the officiating was horrible, but not jus towards one team. And im sure that people will complain and say that harpeth had a lot more fouls called on them, but when you press all game thats most likely gonna happen. SC played well as a team and Harpeth didnt seem to want it enough. trey put up 29 but if you was at the game it seemed like a quiet 29 because he didnt look to score like a normal potential MVP would do. And with Trey, i think he should have fouled out at the beginning of the fourth. I know of 3 calls that shouldve been charges instead of blocks, most notably the baseline drive on Dylan Smith, because he was set for a good second or 2 before the whistle blew. that wat kept harpeth as close as the scoreboard said because they made a run after being down 11. But all around i agree that the district is completely down compared to years past. not as much star power or college prospects. And this was by far the smallest Harpeth team (with very little depth on the bench) that I have ever seen and seem to only have 3 players that can score, which is unusual for Harpeth. SC had a lot of role players step up and have big games and had balance scoring. I congradulate them on the victory but want to remind them not to get to high on themselves cuz its just one game and there is still a lot of season to play. keep this momentum goin throughout the rest of the year and you just might be able to make sometin happen. Good luck to both teams throughout the rest of the year.
  10. Well I would complain about the game if its as bad as everything i have heard but i didnt see it so i dont wanna comment on something i dont know much about
  11. hah well we know that you are either from houston county or know "the quickest guard in the state."
  12. ya that was 2.1 seconds with a college player with a quick release. this was 1 second with a high school girl that doesnt have that quick of a release. big difference there bud.
  13. ya but thats not wat we r talkin about...we talking about an inbound catch, 2 dribbles, and a shot
  14. ya its 0.4 seconds but with that much time u dont rele even have time to catch and shoot. Its like the shot dereck fisher had with the Lakers a fews years ago and he didnt bring it to his chest like the girl from houston. to have a release like that girl did, it would at least take 0.7 seconds on that alone....plus you got the TWO dribbles, even if it was one it wouldnt be possible. and yes its the same lady working the clock that has always done it. but it seems to me that even though the clockkeeper started it a tad late, the ref should still know that it is impossible to do all that in exactly one second, jus like they know that it is impossible to score with less that 0.4 seconds. but anyways that game is in the past and i just wanted to start this topic up to get other peoples opinions on it. Good luck to the rebelettes throughout the rest of the year and there WILL be payback when houston county comes to our house. WE ARE SC!!!!
  15. Yes the clockkeeper did mess up, but the ref should know off hand that it is impossible to dribble twice and shoot it.
