  1. Giles Co. has a very good offensive front. Motts and Strickland are two outstanding players. Christopher at tight end is a great blocker. Birdsong was also very good for them earlier in the year. I don't know if he's back or not but he has to be noted. They will face their steepest challenge this week against David Lipscomb. #79 and #35 are a couple of very good ones for the Mustangs defense in their monster front. I know last year Giles tried to come out and bully them by doing some Stack-I stuff. I wounder will O'Connor's plan of attack this time around involve unleashing Bo Wallace and letting him throw it all over the yard.
  2. This upcoming week marks "Senior Night 2008" at Mike Jarreau Field on the campus of CCCHS in Ashland City. Creek Wood and Cheatham Co. will square off in a region battle that has become quite the rivalry in a short period of time and it should continue to be a region rivalry for the next 4 years following the 2008 season. Cheatham Co. comes into the game fresh off of an exciting win in Columbia this past week against Spring Hill. The win places the Cubs in a position at which they control their own destiny as far as the TSSAA State Playoffs are concerned. Creek Wood is in the mix but they need help, in the form of someone other than Cheatham Co. having to knock off Page, due to their overall record. This is an exciting game and it will be no different this season. The game will be broadcast LIVE on the Cheatham County Cubs Football Fan Page. You can visit by going to http://www.cheathamcubsfanpage.com/fb to not only listen to the game but to also view the notes heading into the game. If you are in the stadium and want to listen LIVE then bring those radios. The station is WQSV out of Ashland City and the radio dial is 790 AM. It is "Fall Break" which means that school is not open this week so I want to encourage everyone to come and support these teams. I hope that the break does not drive away what would normally be a good crowd.
  3. DeKalb Co. & Station Camp are going to be for the Region 4-3A Championship. Both teams still have an outside shot at a region title themselves so White House is going to have to play their best ball yet to get it done. Best Wishes!!!! Sycamore vs Macon Co. this next week is for a playoff spot IMO. Both teams have beaten PC and with Sycamore having added Greenbrier last night they took a huge step in the right direction. Macon plays Sycamore this upcoming week and Greenbrier the following week. Greenbrier won't matter because they are not really in the hunt now. Too bad for GreenbrierCat2 & Co. I'm sure White House will rest their "top guns" in getting ready for the playoffs (games that truly matter) that week. Pearl Cohn will be back I promise you all. They are young and injured and are going through a tough year. I wish them the best. Their game against Greenbrier this next week is to determine who will finish in the basement in the region this season. WOW!!!! THE REGION 4-3A PICTURE IS VERY CLEAR NOW!!!!!
  4. For a postgame recap featuring interviews with Cubs head coach Cody Finley as well as some of the Cubs players I want to encourage everyone to tune in to 'Cubs Coaches Show' which will start at 8:30AM from McDonald's. Next Friday is "Senior Night" for the Cubs at Mike Jarreau Field so I am sure it's going to be an emotional week upcoming for both the players as well as the coaches. Creek Wood is a very big game in many ways.
  5. DeKalb has a great offense but if they have a demise then it will be their defense. Poteete is good but he can't be "great" every single week. We are talking about a 16-17 year old kid now.
  6. Congrats to Gordonsville on the big WIN!!! This should just about get the Tigers to the playoffs I imagine.
  7. This sounds like it was a great game between two outstanding football teams with a couple of good quarterbacks putting on a show. Congrats to Giles Co. on the "W".
  8. I thought he was great too when we scrimmaged Waverly back in the second week of the fall.
  9. Knoxville Catholic vs McMinn Central David Lipscomb vs Dyersburg A LOT OF FOOTBALL TO BE PLAYED BETWEEN NOW & THEN.............
  10. In 2005 Macon Co. won and went to the playoffs. In 2006 Sycamore won and went to the playoffs. If Sycamore wins then they are playoff bound. If Macon Co. wins + beats Greenbrier in their next game then they are playoff bound. The Prize?????? The TSSAA State Playoffs (likely opponent being McMinn Central). WHO WINS THIS REGION 4-3A BATTLE OF PLAYOFF HOPEFULS???????????
  11. Post #37 shows my prediction and that says it all in this one. Sycamore humbles Greenbrier and the Bobcats are going to miss the playoffs for the 2nd time in 3 years. Great Job Sycamore. You guys are in the postseason with a win next week at Macon Co. Go get it done!!!!
  12. Down 18-7 at halftime the Cubs found themselves just 24 minutes away from postseason elimination. The seniors really stepped up in the second half. Garrett Potts hit Zach Wilson for a long TD pass. He also connected with Tyler Adkisson and Tyler Anderson on long pass plays. The offensive line played well and Shawn Montgomery ran the ball hard posting another 100 yard outing. On defense the Cubs pitched a second half shutout. Justin Batts & Zack Bush both played their hearts out. Bobby Fitzhugh and Kendall Chambliss really stepped up their games and played major roles. Thanks to Spring Hill for everything. Coach Scharsch is turning it around and you guys will be a real factor for years to come!!!!
  13. It's "do or die" tonight...........especially for the Bobcats. Greenbrier has lost to Station Camp & DeKalb Co. If they lose to Sycamore then they are going to need for Sycamore to lose to both DeKalb & Macon + Greenbrier is going to have to beat Pearl Cohn, Macon, & even White House just to get into the postseason. If Sycamore wins this one then all they have to do is beat Macon next week and they are postseason bound. They would own wins over Greenbrier, Macon, & Pearl Cohn (the region's 3 worst teams). Macon Co. is waiting in the wings set to play both of these teams in the next two weeks. If they can somehow beat them both then the Tigers will be playoff bound because they have already beaten Pearl Cohn earlier in the year. I SAY THAT SYCAMORE IS ABOUT TO DO ONTO GREENBRIER WHAT GREENBRIER DID ONTO THEM LAST YEAR /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  14. Well Sycamore is going to be motivated as well and they aren't going to just lay down and let the coaches and community that supports them down. Sycamore High School............."10 Years & Counting" /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  15. That's it all the way /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  16. There's nothing wrong with it at all. All I am saying is that if you need "CoachT" just to get geared up for a game that determines your playoff fate as much as this one does for both schools then you might want to take up cheerleading or join the band/choir.
  17. If that were the case then Urban Meyer would be in Smithville. He can run it and throw it deep (with accuracy).
  18. Learn how to spell "if" as well. You make negative comments on every thread you post under. Look at how you attacked DeKalb Co. on their thread under the main football forum. You are the one who is pathetic!!!!
  19. He made fun of the stadium. He made jokes about their past years. Also he said they'd be bad again when Poteete is gone. He tried to compare them to Station Camp (a much larger school). What does any of that have to do with the 2008 DeKalb Co. football team when it comes to their performance on the field???? Notice the first post did say "THIS YEAR" which doesn't mean the past or the future. It means 2008. What I see in 2008 is a team that is 5-1 and will be 6-1 after they hammer Upperman tomorrow night. It is like I said about people with irrelevant opinions on the other thread............. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  20. Yet they've been to the playoffs 6 years straight AND they also don't have 100 people who don't have a clue about football on here shooting off at the mouth everytime you turn around. People like GreenbrierCat2 have views that are simply irrelevant I have come to the full conclusion that this is true. I have been attacked by him and you time and time again this week without nothing been done by a single mod here on CoachT. Now the waiting for justice is over. I am taking my own justice just as Sycamore will do at home tomorrow night. Sycamore: 28 Greenbrier: 14 It is funny that some of you don't even know when your own player's senior year happened to be yet you speak as if you are experts /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" GOOD JOB /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  21. I just wanted to say good luck to the Firebirds. Hang in there guys because it's been a tough season with youth and injuries. Coach Brunetti will get things turned around there I am sure. 22. Cool. Maybe we cab get him to do a halftime interview tomorrow night. He used to own a Chevrolet dealership in Ashland City. The #4 Kodak ride winning the 500 twice and the 400 once at Daytona are my greatest memories of Sterling. He would have won the title in 2001 had he not suffered a neck injury in a crash during the fall at Darlington. That paved the way for Jeff Gordon to win his fourth title.
  23. They missed the playoffs just two years ago at 3-7. They are playing like any "normal" Greenbrier team would perform. Those teams from 2003, 2004, & 2005 were all teams that had talent and their region foes weren't quite as strong. Since everyone caught back up to them the Bobcats have been back to their normal ways. AVERAGE AT BEST!!!! I will say that primarily to GreenbrierCat2 since he decided to bash on DeKalb Co. somewhat yesterday. They missed the playoffs just two years ago at 3-7. 24. Springfield, Portland, Macon Co., and now Pearl Cohn All are teams that are on a 3A team's schedule /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> Maybe everyone else should schedule them /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  25. Post something relevant..............FOR ONCE /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
