Cookeville is hot right now i'm taking them at home by 5!

No the associations higher ups didn't like the fact that he didn't throw Uppermans coach out of game one night about two years ago so they basically fired him. He is now calling games in East Tn and let me just say that the loss is the teams and fans in this area. He is and was a very good ref and so is the "Casey" guy. Some of the people that control the association of refs need to take some of their own advice and check their ego's at the door. These two guys were an ASSET so why they are refing somewhere else is beyond me!!

From all that i have gathered it was the wife of Clay Co.'s coach and another woman that was thrown out of the game. However for FCS1984 to insiuate that the ref's decided the outcome of the game is ludicris!! The game was AT FCS and while i wasn't at the game i have been to many games on the visitors side at FCS and the home teams gets most of the "questionable" calls to go their way especially if its a team from 7A. Why that is i don't know but it just seems to happen that way. Now having said that i'm sure that arguement can go both ways when FCS comes this way. We have some very good refs in this part of the state if you don't believe me just go outside the area and you will quickly find out how lucky we are. However i will say that we have suffered two VERY BIG loses the past two years in our ref'ing community. One being Mr Conaster and the other being Casey (his last name escapes me big tall dark headed ref) both are two of the best ref's to step on the floor and one thing that i have always found to be constant in the games that they call is that no matter whether you were at home or away you were ALWAYS going to get a fair shake!!! Its a shame that the "powers that be" that are over the ref's let these two go. They were an asset to your community mr melton and believe me i have nothing to do with the ref's just a fan of the game....

I hear that game time is 6 instead of 630 is that right??

Should be a great game tuesday night as the Ladies in blue head up to Sgt York country to play at the home of the Lady Buffalo's of Clarkrange. I noticed that C'range is playing a game on monday night before they play JC at home does anyone think that will have an adverse affect on how rested they will be? My prediction is JC by 11 but thats just a guess !

Wow Clarkrange is playing a game on Monday night and then turning around and playing us on Tuesday? Hmm thats interesting....

LA has the best team in 7AA this year hands down. They would rival White Co. for the best team in the Upper Cumberland although i do believe that White Co. would beat them should they ever play. LA will win the district this year i'm just wondering how they will do in the region sure would like to see a boys team make it to the state from around here again!

According to the state guy there were only 8 foul called against PC in the first half as opposed to 17 against JC in the second half it got out of hand quickly! 16 fouls were called against JC and at one point it was JC with 15 fouls and PC with 3 and at the end they called 4 meaningless fouls against PC. I was at the game as was the rest of us and when you can hold and and hack without anything being called then defense is much easier to play is it not? PC was the better team and it showed but the ref's made it alot easier by putting JC's starting five on the bench before the first quarter was halfway over with. Put PC's top 4 players on the bench for most of the first half, and what do you think the outcome would have been? Be honest in your assessment when you reply please. and just for you info #11 did knock down one of our players right in front of our side going down court. It was one of our younger players not sure of the number but he sure took his arm and hit him right in the back now the young man from JC did retaliate back when he got up with an elbow but i thought he should have got up and knocked his teeth out but thats just me i get a little excited sometimes.

should be a great game and if you ask me this one will be played out again in the district and region championship as well and most likely for the Gold Ball!!

PC was clearly the better team on this night, however if you mean TC as in the big guy from Pickett Co. being out of the game you have to talk about most of Jackson Countys starting five being on the bench since mid way through the first quarter. You are right there were alot of fouls called in this game but very few on the home team. I believe the stat guy said at one time before the "make up calls" at the end of the game were made the foul count was 33 fouls against JC and 11 against PC now thats fair if you're a PC fan! At one point there were 4 of the first 5 out of the game due to having two fouls and no matter what anyone wants to imply the refs in the game were so one sided it was rediculous. All of us in the stand noticed how dirty the PC players were there was more than one occassion where they would take shots at our boys going down the court but no calls were ever made! My wife was screaming one time at a ref that watched #11 for PC punch one of our players in the back and knock him down going down the court but he just looked away, how is this kind of play tolerated by the refs, why do they allow this team to get away with play like that? On the way up i heard how dirty one of their players were but it looked like the whole team took cheap shots all night and nothing was ever called so i guess its ok for them to do it? Like i said on the girls thread its no wonder that the fans from Byrdstown talk bad about the ref's because they will never get refs to call games for them like they do at home. I'm sure it seems that all the calls are going against you away from home because no team is going to get a fair shake there from all that i have found out and why is that?? Why do refs deliberately make calls like that? They were so scared of PC's coach it was obvious. Everytime he ranted and raved they would go stand by him and not even pay attention to the game...It was truly amazing to me....

Look no further than the coach that is at the particular school!!! Up here in the Upper Cumberland two of the best of all time reside in Clarkrange's Lamaar Rodgers and Jackson County's Jim Brown. Shelbyville's Rick Ensel is a legend in high school girls basketball....

It seemed to work if you ask me. From all that i have found out the foul count in the boys game was 33 to 11 at one point and during the first half all but one of JC's starting five were on the bench with two fouls!! Then during the girls game the coach was standing out on the court demanding the ref talk to him so they actually STOPPED the game and didnt allow JC to shoot free throws till this coach got finished saying what he had to say. Thats not suppose to happen is it?? The three refs working it were very intimidated by the boys coach from PC you could tell everytime the guy had something to say they would quit ref'ing the game and walk over and talk to him. This is why PC fans always complain about the refs because when they are AT HOME they get EVERY call in the book its insane if you ask me. Now having said all that the refs didn't beat the boys they just played bad however i they didn't give the first five a chance to play in the first half either so go figure?? Had it gotten close they would no doubt have called in favor even more in my opinion. PC shot foul shot in the second half and the thing that stood out most was all JC had to do was look at PC and it was a foul and the PC players could hack and hammer all night long and there were no calls or calls that were made that wouldn't affect the game at all. This was one of the first games i've attended this year and have never been Byrdstown before but man its not wonder they complain when they leave that place!! No way they get them calls away from that place or am i wrong on this ??
