We can do no worse that tie for 1st in the district and we've already done what FCS could not and that is beat Clay County so if i was you i would be worried about just winning a game in the region and if you get that far well then that region semi matchup against either JC or Clay is where the season ends for the private school. 7A is much stronger than 8A this year, it wouldn't surprise me a bit to see 7A sweep the 1st round of the region.

Your right about Clay County being a tough place to play. Their fans really get into the game but JC's fans travel well we usually have more at the game than our opponents. This will be a packed house which makes it a great atmosphere. The key in this game is going to be how JC's other players step up. Clay will have to focus so much attention trying to stop Godwin from getting the ball that JC's other players will have open look after open look. DMac always plays great against Clay and he is again the x factor like i said the last time. If he brings it and JC's roll players (P Ragland, J. McDowell, J. Goad, H. Leonard, T. Jackson) have good games then JC will be tough to beat. Clay County cannot matchup one on one against him so i'm sure they will play zone thats all they can play. but clay always plays well at home and no matter what they will be very tough to beat and wouldn't surprise me if they win the game. Trent Boles is as good as they get at the point guard position and is very deadly from behind the arc so JC will have to step it up and keep him from beating them. I think these two teams will play atleast one more time in the district championship and have a good chance of playing in the region championship as well. FCS is the one team especially if this new recruit is any good that will be starting play in the region tournament, that can play with these two teams. Because they recruit so heavily year after year they are loaded with talent which gives them a definite chance to win. I still think JC wins the district because i don't think Clay can go into Clarkrange and win but if JC plays like they did against LA then it won't matter. That team beats anyone in Class A now the one that played the 1st half against Monterey gets beat by just about everyone in Class A. If Godwin gets another monster dunk to ignite JC then it could get ugly fast but i still say its a close one till the end.

Quit dodging the question. Where did the new recruit come from that is sitting on the bench and not eligible to play until region? What player is going to lose their hard earned playing time because of it? The kid moved because of the new coach right? Is he a sophomore or a junior?

Oh so now you admit that you have "transfers" that make up FCS's team huh? I would bet he isn't paying tuition what do you say??? Something is really wrong with a program that would allow a kid to play after having to sit out all year long due to illegally moving from one school to another. A "transfer" is someone that actually MOVES to the new schools area, a RECRUIT is one that just shows up to play and does not MOVE from where they were living. So what are you going tell the kid that loses playing time due to a new recruit coming in at the END of the season that hasn't played with the team all year long yet the coach is going to let him take time away from a player that has worked hard and earned his PT? No way this coach will last if he does this kind of stuff. I heard he was an AAU coach from Nashville so i'm guessing this will be the norm? I think TSSAA needs to look into this situation to make sure he is paying tuition. I am almost guaranteeing he isn't.

Jackson County rolls into Celina on Tuesday for a showdown against Clay County. If JC wins they win the district outright with a 7-1 record in the district. If Clay wins they will have to win against Clarkrange to force a coin flip otherwise JC would still win based on a 6-2 record vs 5-3. Clay will try to pack it in against Godwin and try to keep him from getting going and JC will put alot of pressure on Clay's guards to get some easy baskets off of their vaunted full court pressure they put on teams for the entire game. JC got off to a slow against Monterey but Godwin's slam dunk over Monterey's players seemed to rip the roof off of the building and JC went on to win easily. It was the sickest dunk i've seen in a long time, should be on youtube before long i'm sure! Clay played a tight game against Gordonsville going into overtime to win so this game is setting up as a classic battle between two very good teams. I got JC winning a nail biter 71-67. Who you got?

You don't have any kids that left Jackson County to go to FCS i can promise you that! Your ignorance is very prevelent by your post and it shows your true colors. Not one time did you acknowledge the fact that there is a clear violation of recruiting on FCS's part with the kid that isn't eligible to play due to having transferred from MJCS after last years district tournament. You arrogant idiotic rants that insinuate you have 2 players from JC on there only fuel our fire. I hope we meet you in the region and when we do it will be the end of the road for FCS. So answer the question, why is this kid sitting out until the region tournament? How long has he been at FCS? Where did he come from? MJCA??

Yeah and that Gold Ball is coming back to Jackson County so get that out of your head right now. You need to get out of west tn and see some real womens basketball up here in middle tn if you want to see the best all around point guard. She resides in Jackson Co. and her name is Caroline Warden!

Its a known and proven fact. There aint that many good athletes around that little farm area where that school is located at year after year. Ya'll got kids from all over you people try to deny it year after year. FCS is competitive in every sport finishing close to the top in their district and region just about every year. So lets get off the subject you recruit we all know it and thats why we love beating you so much and pulling for anyone that does.

JC AND CLAY

This team isn't last years team by any stretch. They have a couple new recruits in that have helped but they aren't as big as they were last year. They are a quality team though very athletic and will be a tough team to beat come tourney time.

Yeah i hear ya seems like we heard that the last time we hosted CSAS, they were suppose to beat us by 20-30 that year if i remember right and i do. Keep on thinking that Swanson. JC will not get beat on their home floor in a substate game. All you have to do is ask the CSAS faithful about their last experience when they came to Jackson County

Grace can score i will give you that but he doesn't block shots, he doesn't rebound, doesn't have very many assists or steals, all he does is sit out there in that zone on defense,that RBS plays and waits for the other team to shoot so he can get the ball back. Yeah he can shoot and he can score but thats about it.

You would be correct, the last time i seen them play was when they came to Gainesboro for a substate game and went home with the L. Which is what will happen this year if you don't win the region down there.

Class A - Jordan Godwin - Jackson County - other than maybe Smith from Clarksville Aca there is no one more deserving or even close to his talent.

This was a fun game to watch as a fan and an emotional game for both sides. LA wanted to avenge their earlier loss and JC wanted to do something no team in JC's recent history has done and thats sweeep the season against LA. Both squads got after it and gave their all on the floor. Bodies were crashing the boards, flying around everywhere and it was a very up tempo game. The one thing i have to say is if JC would bring this kind of effort every night from here on out they go to the state tournament and have a legitimate shot at winning it. They have a tendency to play down to their competition as witnessed by the Clarkrange game. But back to the game, how can you not get excited at that game? I seen their coaches cheering and i liked it. Heck our asst coaches meet our players at half court when they do something good and hi five them! I think thats awesome!! Now i don't think this guy is near the coach that Melton was but if the kids respond to it then he will get better and they will play hard for him. Hogeye is a divided nation right now, ya'll need to bury the sword and support the coaches and young men you have playing because whats done is done. Those kids played hard and so did JC's players. There were hard fouls, intentional fouls, body checks, hand slaps and everything else on the floor but at the end of the game there was mutual respect on both sides. Don't ya'll like the nicer me???? I was just trying to be nice since i got kicked off the boards for a little while for speaking my mind is all. Now about this game, LA was danged lucky to win it and if you was there you know it!! JC lead the entire game up until about 3 or 4 minutes left and then they took the lead but JC came back and tied it twice. LA is a good team i've said that all along but at halftime JC had them beat and after 3 quarters JC had them beat but i guess thats why they have 4 quarters and not 3. Hats off to LA they won fair and square but i will say this much i've watched these two teams play twice and i can guarantee you that if they played 10 times it would be close in all 10 games and both would probably win 5. One thing i WAS right about was Godwin would be the best player on the floor and he WAS! I told you they couldn't guard him and they couldn't and if any of ya'll say anything other than that then you're just flat out lyin!! When this kid wants to play no one around here can play with him period. He may not be Mr basketball even though he should be nominated for it, but he's pretty darned close and he stands alone as the best player in the upper cumberland and that includes cookeville, sparta livingston upperman and anyone else you want to throw out there. but as a team LA won and thats all i gotta say about that. This was a very fun game to watch though, a lot of action from both teams and both teams really got after it. I thought every shot was contested from both and the refs stayed out of the way for the most part and let them play. Yeah you have a point no he wasn't! Didn't know that Smith lost to York so yeah both teams are pretty even on the embarrassing loss thing. Should be a good game!

Well i'm sure rabbit, bigbaby i mean bigdaddy and all the others from LA are laying in the weeds waiting to see the final of this game tonight. LA is the favorite and should win this game but JC proved they could beat them by putting a good whippin on them at LA earlier in the season and we all know what ensued after the gamee with their coach being railroaded out and a new one ushered in due to daddy and uncle buck being on the school board. So i'm sure LA is wanting this game pretty bad tonight and if the same team that played against Clarkrange shows up it will be pretty bad!!! JC needs to play another great game to have a shot at winning this game but in my eyes if they play hard and make it a good game then we'll be just fine. The worst we can do is 1-1 which we would have all taken at the start of the year! I'll see ya'll on the flip side....

I don't think it should matter what grade you're in as long as you are in high school. Miss Basketball is given to a young lady that is the best in that particular year. It shouldn't matter how many points they've scored in previous years, it should only matter in that one year what the player has done on the court. There are many young lady's that would be very deserving of the award but i'm telling every one right now that Jaycee Coe from Jackson County is one of the best players in the state regardless of the fact that she is a freshman and regardless of what division she plays in and she is on one of the best teams in the state that plays a very very high level of competition. She may not win it but i promise you she should be in the top 5 and is very worthy of consideration. Those of you that have't seen her play, make sure you get a seat up close at the state tournament and those of you that have seen her, well i don't need to say anything. When the opposing team puts their best player on you and face guards you all night long and you still drop over 20 a game you're pretty special

You would be mistaken. Clarkrange only plays matchup zone and nothing else. JC is not invincible and they haven't done anything yet except win some games. We'll see how it all shakes out soon enough. My dream is to have JC play RBS in an elimination game and RBS get sent home as a little payback!

Well if FCS's girls are that bad that trousdale county can beat them then look out. TC cancelled the game against JC because the girls coach didn't want to play us again but after a 55-6 half time score i wouldn't want to either no sense in it.

Lets put them in order #1 Jackson County only one loss against Class A schools #2 Friendship Christian the #1 team in District 8A #3 Clay Co. they've beaten FCS already and have alot of talent #4 Clarkrange after knocking of JC they have vaulted to the 4 spot #5 Watertown athletic and could be a spoiler come tourney time #6 Pickett Co. They've beaten RBS so i give them the nod over RBS #7 RBS after losing 2 key players they drop out of the top spots they have no bench
