I agree! as long as the girl's work hard and improve in the offseason, they have the ability to accomplish alot!

They might not have been this time last year, but I would definitely agree you with right now. The state of our program now is undoubtedly better than this time last year. Let's hope the same can go for football.

Just for fun, how do you think they stack up for next year? Go ahead too, and break down each individual team.

If this is a basketball county, than why did we lose a well respected assistant coach today? (still a rumor) I have to disagree with you also because the Fball stadium is packed on Friday nights, and all of their fundraisers always do well, so I believe there is support by way of time and money. What more should we want as Football fans? Of course more wins, but let's be realistic how many more wins, considering its been like 15 years since we have even been to the playoffs? By the way, my Tar Heels are on fire!

Ok, I have spoken against decisions privately not publicly that have been made by our past administrations throughout the years, but I will not be on this forum and go as far as you Patriot. However, I will question the issue where I heard a very dissapointing rumor today about the absence of an assistant coach @ CCHS, in which I hope its not true. But, I appreciate your dedication to see our programs @ CCHS improve to a competitive level and I hope you continue to feel the way you do about change in our small town. But, please leave any personal issues out of this because it puts us in a negative light. I'm all about CCHS, and for us to grow we have to improve our persona just as well as our win/loss records. Wildcat, keep your wllingness to help CCHS also. I do not feel you have "bashed" our new coach, just called his record into question. Every coach should call his/her record into question theirselves, so they are reflecting in an attempt to improve. So, I hope Coach Shrienk does not get his feelings hurt by anything we have said here. Furthermore, I hope he is actually smart enough to not even read this public forum because he (like Warrior) should not get wrapped up in this sea of opinions. As for me, I believe we could have possibly done better in terms of hiring a "smoking gun" of a Head Coach, but to be realistic, 3-17 is pretty much realistic for where we are right now @ CCHS. So, Coach Shreink I wish you the best of luck and I'll be there on Friday nites. I'm not sure about your background, but if you have any inkling of staying here and providing these kids some much needed stability, I would suggest you talk to our young Baskeball Coach for some advice, I have heard he is more than willing to help you. (That's what 1 trip a week to Terry's Kitchen will get you).

I have not and will not bash anyone on this site. So I do agree with you, this coach does not deserve that. However, I don't see where he has been "bashed", if so, it has not been by me.

Thank you for contradicting yourself! by saying "He is spinning his wheels there. That is why he would go to a 3A school. It's a better job", then stating "I don't have a horse in this race but don't think for a minute that there are 50-60 top notch applicants for this job. What's Cannon County EVER done"? So please tell me how Cannon Co. (which I love and have supported for decades) should be a place that would interest this superb (but yet 3-17) coach? Forgive us for being skeptical, but no one has bashed this man. Yes his record has been put into question, as well as his motivation for wanting to come here, but he is a coach-he's gonna be questioned, that's the spotlight you put yourself in! Since "What's Cannon County EVER done?" is the pulse of the communtiy (and apparently the midstate) why should we not be skeptical on why he comes here? I hope he is an excellent man, teacher, and coach. Therefore he can come here and straighten out our mess, but I and others reserve the right to question 3-17! Little ole Cannon Co, was at least 4-6 last year.

We are in the same boat in CC too! Steve Heath, Tony Stinnett, and even John Callow never missed a beat covering CC athletics, now I think it's terrible! They wanted Coach Dodgen to call in his scores, but yet they couldn't come down to cover one single game this year. I'm dissappointed in the DNJ now, but they done a fine job for us in CC for almost 20 years.

I agree. If we can get a quality FBall Coach in here and surround that with Dodgen and Rigsby I believe we are in great coaching shape @ CC. How are the girl's doing in AAU? I've not heard.

I agree, on top of that he's got 5 different AAU groups going this spring! We've not had tht piece to the building puzzle in a long time. He told me the other day that he believes he's got some talent coming up. So, a young team that still has some youth behind it. BTW, I heard he was contacted by Warren and Coffee, any truth to that rumor??? I hope he stays and they leave him alone.

No disrespect to Coach Couey, just stating facts-his overall record when he was with us was 4-42 in two years. I just don't see him as the fit at a program like Oakland has right now, maybe later though.

Who's Turnbow? He's not from here I'm pretty sure, so why is he on your radar? I do not agree with the Riverdale comment because a winning program is a winning program. Also, what "Philosophy" are you actually referring to? I heard 5 people have actually sent resumes, and 1 has interviewed-anybody hear the same?

Your right-Coach Bartcsh should have been fired! If its true, and you cannot explain the immature text messages Coach L told me that you sent Coach Bartsch, then he should have been let go for ever allowing you into CC Football! Do not attempt to give us a "woe is me approach" after the fact. The D-Coordinator admitted to the back-stabbing comments, so if you are not his son than you just don't know all of this. And will I believe 1% of the "liar's table" rather than believe a son taking up for your father. No, I do not have a personal tie to Coach B, you, the Principal, the AD or anyone elso for that matter. But, unlike the majority of you, I have a personal tie to CC athletes. And you Mr. Spartan, can have a world of success at Community and I will be the first to applaud you, but do not belittle us in CC by thinking we will only believe you, when you were uneducated enough to leave proof of your misdoings. To Miss Collette: I appreciate your strong-willed approach to your beliefs. That is the way it was around here 30 years ago. Unfortunately, I fear those times are gone and people are only left to "call the shots" from behond closed doors. I do not attempt to "call those shots" but yet show my SUPPORT. If that support should be in question by anyone else (Pondexter=Johnny) than instead of attacking me , A PLAYER, or the anyone else in a cowardly approach, I emplore you to learn a lesson from Wildact and be productive with your support. By the way "pondexter" if you are who I was told you are, you will definitely leave personal lives out of this!-such as I, as we are all nowhere near perfect. To Warrior: move on, stay away, concentrate on your program, because you are still not getting it. I believe he was a fine Coach, and believe the same now. I was just stating issues where I disagreed with him, but still always supported him. Speaking of changing your position??? you were stalking Warrior @ the beginning of the year, then all of a sudden you were the head of his fan club. Stop stirring the pot, you can read my posts and understand exactly what I'm saying, if you don't understand then ask me. There is no way you can take any of my words on this board ever to be any different than to support our coaches. Disagree sometimes-yes, but always support them.

I don't believe it matters where you are from, that makes someone a quality coach. A good coach just has what it takes. They understand people, they motivate kids to strive for more, can discipline and are disciplined. They also have to be prepared to make it thier program thier way of life. I've only spoken to him a couple of times, and not since the season so don't take my word for it, but I believe Coach Bartsch had all of these but the first quality, and unfortunatley here at CC that is the most important. Because that is most important, our most successful coaches have been from here...Parker, Harris, Gannon, Bush, maybe even Rigsby (too early to tell). No offense to Coach B, he had my full support.

Again, we ae in agreement Wildcat. The D-Coordinator was and is loved by the kids, thats a complement to him. But, its my opinion that Coach Bartsch took a PR beating when he let him go and that filtered down to the kids and he lost the respect of the kids (even more). However I don't believe the DC would be a good idea, even if he was certified, because he stabbed our last coach in the back, as well as his son did too, so I think he would do the same to our next HC. Then, we are all back to square one again looking for a new HC. I would like to see the people within the school (not the community) who understand what it takes to build a program be allowed to help in this hiring decision. There are a couple in the building, I'll let you decide who you think that should be. But, they should be resources tapped into, to help decide this very important decision. DO NOT LET PARENTS AND PLAYERS IN ON THE DECISION-MAKING PROCESS! By the way, Good luck tomorrow nite girl's and congratulations on making it to the region semi's! My point was simply this: This is an internet resource that everyone has access to, therefore you were out of line by bringing up her personal life. I stand by that opinion, heck its not an opinion, its the rules of this message board. You are obviously an educated man, woman, parent, teacher, etc...? so you can read the rules for yourself. I have news for you both, I have had "lil johnny, lil jill, grandbaby johnny and jill" filter through those atletic programs and I am still here! And Lord willing will be for yet still quite some years. And now I digress, since you doubt my motives for my reply, I will give you my take on all this now, however remember my opinion is based on all watercooler hearsay, I have never seen a practice,stepped inside the fieldhouse, or spoke no more than 50 words to the coaching staff: 1) IMO Coach Bartcsh deserved another year. 2) Coach Bartcsh was 4-6 and that was just fine! especially given the injuries he was faced with 3) He and Mrs. P never were able to build a working relationship together (due to both thier faults) 4) It saddens me to learn that Players, and Parents hold so much weight as to make hiring and firing decisions. 5) Why was the AD not involved in this process? 6) We all need to stop the negativity, because we need to hire a new coach and keep the good one's that we now have...ie...Dodgen, Rigsby 7) I appreciate all including Patriot and Pondexter who are supporters, however my support and Wildcats are obviously a main-stay for years and years. That's what our young athletes need is stability! So please the two of you keep up your support, but please keep personal attacks aside.

So if that's true, I will now ask you to re-read my last post and this time consider it directed towards you too. We can all disagree with a Coach's X's and O's, or an administrations decision, but personal attacks have no relevance nor business being apart of this conversation! I do not agree with decisions that have been made in terms of athletics and academics at CCHS for many, many years, but I do respect a person's personal life. Also, Mr. CoachT will ask you to do the same! Spare us from being the Soap Opera or Laughing Stock on this forum, please!?

Thank you for making us all in Cannon County look like a bunch of classless idiots! Your post should be taken off of this thread and you along with it. I've enjoyed reading your comments all year until now. As for the rest of us, we can continue our conversation about the state of CC athletics and do it in an appropriate manner.
