  1. Things are going to tighten up in District 13AA. Only one game separates first and second and then several of the teams in the middle of the pack. Will be interesting to see what happens today and wouldn't be surprised if there weren't some district upsets. Really don't know if you can call any games as upsets anymore as everybody is on basically the same playing level. Don't expect the top teams to be the teams in the end. Too many good teams!!!!!!!!
  2. Dyersburg gets their second chance at Westivew today. Should be a good matchup. Westview in the district lead but could tighten things up again with a Dburg win. Go Trojans!!!!!!!!!
  3. Gibson may have the best team from what I've heard. Dyersburg slumping right now but I expect them to come back strong. When Westview and Gibson play it could be a very big game as the winner could gather a grip on the district to that point. The View seems to be riding on a high right now but give them time besides their coaching lacks a little to be desired. Crockett playing better too. Crockett and Obion may have the best coaching and youth in the district. Other teams in this area to look for. Camden young but playing good ball. Can't overlook Huntington with their pitching talent What about you Wild West: You been watching any games? Anybody else got predictions for this area? I've only seen a handful of games and relying on info i hear.
  4. Westview got hot at the right time last year. Everyone will bring their A game this year and there won't be any surprises. The other region brings some heavy opponents as well. Ripley, Covington, and Haywood will be tough to beat on any day. Should be very interesting come tournament time. Can't leave Gibson out of the race either. They appear to be playing good softball.
  5. I agree that Sunday should be a sacred day. Finishing the tournament on Saturday should not be an issue. Better for the tournament to finish at midnight then to continue into Sunday morning. It seems like it has gotten this way with all sports due to the fact that all sports seem to require kids to play all year long. The problem is that things have gotten too demanding. This should be an easy fix. With a 20-25 team tournament you can finish late Saturday night and I gurantee you can still make your money. I do agree that the ministry at the field is better than nothing and I'm sure God is happy that this happens but my opinion is that God would rather us be at Church than at the field. As mentioned, people could start to think that they could miss every Sunday and simply substitute prayer and a reading to replace it.

    CONFIDENCE

I obviously misread. You never should accentuate the negatives. Positive reinforcement on confidence and success is where a good ballplayer is made. I just believe that the tweaking starts here and then moves to mechanics.
  7. I think this will be a two team race in the end between Dyer Co. and Dyersburg. I don't think any of the other teams will be able to compete with these two teams in the end. Pitching and hitting too strong. Westview has not really played anyone and I have heard that there are significant injuries to OC which will prevent them from doing any damage this year.

    CONFIDENCE

I don't know if your post is due to the fact that maybe you never had confidence or don't know how to teach it, but confidence is at the front of any good ballplayer in any sport. If a player has no confidence they cannot play at a level that is perceived as acceptable anymore. No offense, but a tweak here or there is bunch of nonsense. The tweak can be with there confidence. Which is easier to fix? Hey you're dropping your back elbow or hey you just need a little confidence and belief in yourself and everything else will work out. You will be amazed by how much kids succeed when they have confidence, elbow dropped or not. Now maybe from your experience no one is able to carry that concept to a successfuly manner but attacking the word itself obviously shows a lack of coaching ability or a lack of knowledge of the word. When a child is confident all things are possible. Would rather have a kid saying at the plate " I'm fixing to crush this ball" confidently then " I think I can hit this if don't step out or if I keep my shoulder up or if I keep my weight back. Confidence can and should be preached!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    TRINITY?

I heard a rumor today that the Renfroes left or are leaving Trinity to move to Knoxville because their father changed jobs... Is this true or just a rumor? If it is true, which school will they be attending now? Anyone know the details? Thanks! I just wanted to repost the original question. This appeared to be an innocent question by PIGLETox23. Obviously there are fans upset about the possibility of them moving which would obviously end their chances at at State Title. Yes, they are outstanding players and yes the rumor is that they are gone after this year. So the question was answered and get over it. If you can't take questions as simple as this then don't get on here. All of that being said; Best of luck to TCA this year!!
  10. Wow, I have read these posts from start to finish and I'm a little shocked by some of the comments. How about we start worrying about how the fans act and not everyone else. It's hard to get good officials from the way the fans act all of the time. If we are going to judge coaches on how they act then lets judge the fans on their attitudes. I would be more ashamed to let my kid sit in a crowd of fans then to let them sit on a bench with the coaches at most games. Just look around sometime and see who's acting the bigger fool. While we are on coaches. The rumor had it that that there was a big uproar earlier in the year between Dyer Co and Liberty. Heard there was profanity being shouted out and no T's were issued out that game, but you're right. Let's get upset because the team got beat and because a coach was trying to defend his kids. Heard there were several bad calls leading up to that not just one incident. Dyer County and OC have terrific teams. Don't even understand the point of these threads. Talk about the kids and how hard they work and quit worrying about the coaches and the officials.
