  1. i am pulling for LA as well but don't go and say you think you should get more support from the upperman bees. i mean you were the team that sat in the stands and cheered for station camp in the region tournament when our boys team was playing. where was our support. we got it from dekalb and other district schools. but the majority of your fans cheered on station camp, so let's not go down that road. i'm sure it's hard to get support from the bees when they are so dissapointed right now. these girls to me are still one of the top teams in the state, and for them to know that LA (who they beat 3 times this year) is playing for the state title probably is a hard pill to swallow. but that's what tournament time is about. the best teams do not always make it to the dance. marshalll county found that out the hard way as well. (man to me this is one of the weakest state tournaments i have seen in a while). with the exception of gc.
  2. don't count out the Upperman bees either. they did not lose anything last year and had a very impressive record. i believe they fell to goodpasture last year in the tournament. someone correct me if i am wrong, because i may be. this team has lots of seniors and i would put them in the top three of AA ball even though they haven't played a game yet this season. however, lead off man #10 christian, has a broken hand and is gonna be out a while, they still have loads of talent.
  3. congratulations LA!!! good luck to you all in the state tournament. you have a team that you can be proud of, and the upper cumberland has a team to cheer on cause these guys have a dang good shot at winning that gold ball. wished la and upperman could have played again, but it just wasn't meant to be. i hope you guys get to play brainerd first, if so you win by 20 - 30 points. (trust me they are pretty bad) we just didn't show up at all. anyways, represent 7AA well and bring a gold ball back to the upper cumberland, and back to livingston. it's baseball ball season in baxter!!!! lol!!!! go cats!!!!
  4. First off i will guarantee you that brainerd will not bring the gold ball home. i have not seen any of the teams besides livingston and brainerd play that are in the tournement. however, if brainerd has to beat livingston to win the gold you can forget it. i mean forget it in a big way. sorry but being totally honest here. mark it down if they play, livingston will beat brainerd by 20 maybe 30 points. Upperman played a very bad game. i believe #10 ethan christian was the only one who played like he wanted to get to the state. i realize some of the kids were sick, but you got one shot to go to the dance and they just were no shows. i give the big kid #40 credit for brainerd, he is a really good player around the basket. he killed uppermann by himself. however, brainerd is the worst shooting team i have ever, and i mean ever seen. it is hillarious to watch them shoot!!! another thing can someone tell me why the refs were high fiving and giving brainerds players thumbs up during the game. i am not making this up, surely you heard the entire crowd going off on these occasions. just not used to seeing that from officials here in middle tennessee. the officiating was horrible, but it always is in chatt. however, we beat ourselves last night by just not competing. believe me livingston fans, brainerd would probably finish 3rd or 4th in district 7AA. you have nothing, and i mean absolutely nothing to worry about with this team. watch them in the boro' and you will wonder how in the world they beat Upperman. but like i said earlier, you have to show up and play, and upperman just never did. all LA has to do is stop #40 and it's over by half time. oh and some people were saying that the guard play would kill upperman, but our guards simply kicked brainerds guards butts all night. it was the inside game that propelled bhs to victory. anyways, don't spend too much money going to the boro brainerd fans, it will just be an overnight stay.
  5. congrats to cannon co. for making it to the semi's of the region tournament. however upperman wins by however many they want.... 20, 40?? second team will play as much as the starters in this game. i also see la beating a pretty good station camp team by 10. go bees!!!
  6. Now it's getting serious and aren't we lucky to see such great basketball in this area. I for one am proud of how district 7AA has done this year in the post season. Hopefully we can get two teams to the boro as well. my predictions for the semi's are really off the wall guesses. but at this time of the year anything can happen. to me LA and UHS are the best teams in the tournament, but Jenkins by far best player. (had to say this too: he is one of the most under control and calm headed kid i have seen in years. nothing seems to rattle him. and is the story about him staying after a tough loss and shooting all night true?? just curious) Dekalb is playing pretty good right now and are a scary team to play in a lose and go home game. However, i think the cats take care of business late in the game and win by 10-15. SC and UHS is gonna be a dog fight. I think the game comes down to how well JJ's supporting cast plays. I will take the bees in this one as well by 10. (foul shots late give them the ten point win) this sets up a great re-rematch with LA. i think i could watch these teams play every night. what a battle they have when they step on the floor. i sure would like to see them play each other 2 more times!!!!(if so you know where that would be and what would be on the line) i know i'm getting way ahead of myself, but hey a guy can dream can't he?
  7. I have had the opportunity of seeing both play numerous games in high school, and hands down jenkins is the better player. to be honest i have seen a lot of basketball through the years including the likes of vincent yarborough, kirt hastings, tony delk, ron mercer, tony harris, jermaine copeland, trey pearson, penny hardaway and many others. these just come to mind because when i seen them play they were simply amazing. however, after watching jenkins play i have to say that i have not seen a better high school player in this state ever.. don't knock me on my list of players i mentioned just some i felt fortunate to see in high school play. anyways brewer was pretty good in high school but much better when he got to college. jenkins however, can just take over anytime he wants. he has an amazing attitude and work ethic, but his ability to get open, make shots and get to the basket are like none other i have ever seen. just my opinion.
  8. thanks for clarrifying. why so rude about a kid getting hurt king?? and why should he have gotten to the goal when threes were falling like layups?? doesn't make sense i'll take a three any day over two (who wouldn't).
  9. you know i go to the game expecting a great game, and i got way more than my moneys worth last night. i guess when you get caught up in a game that much, it's not the best of ideas to jump on here as soon as you can, or you might say something you regret. there were things i said earlier that i would take back if i could but can't now. however, as far as the refs go i would hate to have known i had to officiate that game last night. it was an amazing crowd with an amazing atmosphere. i don't remember who said it but i disagree with the remark of "why did baxter go to the floor with a monster". the reason i disagree with that statement was because dustin was on the floor and about to get rid of the ball when ramsey came in and hit head to head with him. not blaming refs or making excuses, but i did think that play warrented a foul. might be wrong but looked bad from my seat. as for king stating that #10 (whose name by the way is ethan christian) isn't a speedster just a shooter??? if he can't move then why didn't LA just put a guy on him? i mean after six threes isn't it time to guard him if he is just a shooter, or should you go ahead and let him hit eight. also don't say that the south paw never plays like that, cause the kid can play. he had 18 at halftime in the last game between LA and Upperman. Carrin struggled last night i agree. i've always wondered why he doesn't seperate from ramsey when he gets the ball and just go around him. just an observation. i see the hate that some fans have for one another between these schools, but imagine the support these two teams could have if this district actually cheered for one another. what an amazing student section that would be!!! just an idea (i know it won't ever happen). also gotta give props to west last night. to me he saved livingston last night, with some great shooting. if someone knows maybe they can help: when the teams went in at half it was 38-37 UHS. but when the 3rd quarter started it was 38-38. i never heard why, just curious if anyone knows. thanks!!
  10. some of you la fans are the biggest cry babies and complainers. all you do is make excuses. yeah we won, but we would have won by 30 if the refs weren't terrible, oh shut up!! you guys won the game because you played better. and quit picking the upperman girls out of the crowd and calling them out. watch the game morons. you noticed how all there is on here is la fans. is this all you have to do is down grade other teams. grow up and be proud of your team, if they are so good quit making excuses for why they barely beat upperman. in my opinion they barely beat upperman because they are no better than upperman. i take upperman any day on a neutral court. and if some of you la fans were honest with yourself, you might be leaning that way as well.
  11. I hate hearing all this stuff about that wasn't livingston that played the first game. Was chase dunn and crew not on the court? i was there and i'm sure i seen them all playing. Now i don't doubt they played a bad game but don't say that was a different team, or it wasn't the real livingston. true they didn't play to their abitity but it was the same kids on the court that run other teams out of the gym... right?? anyone who knows a thing about basketball or sports in general knows that night in and night out you gotta play. this same livingston team was pushed to the wire last year when they faced upperman in the district championship. so they knew going in to that game what they were facing. the same goes for the remarks made saying that upperman only squeaked by macon co, therefore livingston will kill upperman. this is true they were fortunate to get the win, but when you start comparing stats and who beats who by how much your argument doesn't have a leg to stand on. if you feel there is credibility in those kind of statements then you are saying that macon co should beat livingston???? i mean after all upperman did barely beat macon, but beat livingston by 12. i along with anyone else that has a brain knows that would never happen this year. (i haven't heard anyone say it about macon co. yet but upperman fans could make the excuse, "oh well we played the night before so we were tired. or after the livingston game they may say"well that's our third game this week and we had no energy left") These are the excuses that i hate hearing and you won't hear me say that if we get blown out friday night.(which with livingstons depth could happen) i just get tired of hearing people make excuses, saying we played bad, or the refs were terrible. Upperman flat outplayed livingston the first meeting(only a fool would not agree). does this mean that upperman is the better team???? NO. it means upperman was the better team on that night. i have seen and know the loads of talent on that livingston squad. And even though i am a bee fan i have to say that livingston to me is still the team to beat in this district as well as the region. As far as the game tomorrow night, Upperman better come prepared and rested up. They have been playing really well lately and i look for this game to be a good one as well, as long as they stay with livingston in the first quarter. UHS can't afford to let LA jump out on the early or they could be off to the races. As i have said before, and i still feel, that Uppermans starting five is just as talented as LA. However, when the bench play comes into effect it's a different story. LA is deep and hardly drops off at all when the subs come in. just my own opinions, i love this time of year for high school basketball. oh and isn't it getting repititious seeing LA and UHS every year (boys and girls) dueling it out for top spots in 7AA. good luck to both and no matter what, i want 7AA to make a statement in region tournament and represented by two teams in the BORO!!! GOOD LUCK ALL.
  12. What a game. this year 7AA is gonna be taking two really talented teams into region play i believe. I thought livingston played descent but their shots were not falling. that definitely hurt them. however, i gotta give the bees credit they played their hearts out. i knew that these teams were closely matched in the starting five. it's definite that la has the upper hand when the subbing occurs though. good to see #10 ethan christian playing like he is capable of playing tonight. he and #24 dustin baxter basically carried upperman to their 13 point lead in the first half. and great to see the rest of the kids pick it up for them in the second half. these teams will probably see each other at least two more times. gotta love the rivalry we got going here. did anyone else think the officiating was terrible tonight. i mean it was just awful i thought. (both ways). anyways la will definitely be ready for revenge next time they meet up so upperman better be getting ready for the rematch.
  13. King i was just stating that i have seen upperman get 20 point leads early. never did i say that i thought they would do that in this game. that would be a pretty stupid statement. i agree with you that their bench will definitely outweigh the bees. UHS has two players that can contribute off the bench, that's about it. however, their starting five are pretty tough when they play together. i also never said they were more talented than livingston, i just stated that the talent level in the starting five is closer than alot of people think. (with the exception of dunn). hey king, i haven't seen la this year will they bring a big student section like they usually have at home?
  14. I have a feeling this is gonna be a great game. Definitely an intense game. I admire and enjoy watching livingston play they have a great bunch of players and are topped off with an outstanding player in dunn. Having said that i honestly think that these teams are very similar in talent. Dunn is gonna be the best player on the court no doubt, but i think uppermans starting five are pretty dang talented. The only problem is you never know what team is gonna take the court. you got the team that jumps out to a twenty point lead in the first quarter and then has to hit free throws in the closing minutes to pull a win out. then you got the team that lowers their heads and gives up before half because their shots are not falling. you got the team that let's their temper get the best of them and are likely to get a technical. or you got the team that just doesn't want to pass to the open man. however, i have seen this team take the court and totally dominate some pretty good teams. Actually, Upperman has been playing some good ball as of late. (maybe their peeking at the right time???) Upperman has good size, good speed, and some good shooters. I hope the last team i talked about shows up so this game can be enjoyable. Never the less, i'm sure i won't be able to sleep tomorrow night because of the recurring chants in my head of "hog-eye", and "go beeees". anyways this is great upper cumberland basketball!!!!! 7AA gonna make some noise this year. good luck to all.
  15. yeah it seems at times that upperman has two totally different teams that take the court each night. However, i really think they are playing really well right now. Not to mention they have a load of talent and have some good size. i look for upperman to keep rolling and win by 20 at least.
