  1. Congratulations cleveland!!! Does not matter what level or schedule, to go undefeated coaching teenagers is a accomplishment. It is hard to get your players to stay focused and consistand over the duration of a season. Dont care about rankings or others schools chance this was a great season. good job coach and good luck.
  2. soccer needs to go to contracts and have fines for teams that cancel like football does. Teams that cancel are showing that soccer is still not an important event in high school sports. This is a shame because the level of players and coaches has got so much better, but we dont respect our own sport by doing this.
  3. what was the west v. o.r result
  4. Hardin valley coach made the team run because they left trash on the bench and not because of the performance!!!!! Maryville has a fast athletic team and i thought it was a fun game.
  5. really who cares because it was just a friendly. seymour has a well coached team.
  6. why was play started from the center circle after. I must not know the rules!!!!
  7. people must have missed the breakaway goal scored in the last minute putting hva up 2-1. they did play to direct, but are still just learning to play together on their first year.
  8. was watching the tn against ky high school football senior all star game and was wondering if this could happen in soccer or does it already? Would this run to far into the summer or mess with club schedules? can we play a different state?
  9. was brandon tarr hurt this year or get red shirted because did not see any stats for him
  10. maryville, west, farragut, bearden, l.c and Catholic could win most districts any year. This district is crazy!!!!!
  11. this is discussed every year. cak and catholic are great teams, but do have the easiest road to a state chamionship. Not taking anything away because some years you could have won at any level, but the level they play agaist takes away some from these championships. And to throw this out there- For the hype brandon tarr gets i have seen him play at the club and high school level several of times and he is a very good player, but i think a bit over rated. He does not compair to daniel kelly!!!
  12. i agree with a lot of these one of the best players left off this list is a boy from mcminn co. - the sweeper , i think his name is steven. also - i think mark sherrod at carter is for sure one of the top ten players in knoxville.
  13. considering our limited fan base for high school soccer (unless farragut is playing bearden)is a home district tournament match an advantage or not??? i would rather play at the better pitch!!!
  14. Sorry , when i started this it was not about which division is better or more competitive. But again name a top naia team in the nation that is all americans. thanks. point proven!!! This was started to give more opportunities to our kids.. so i don't care which teams are better. I talked to the athletic director at UT today and he was great. He thinks for money reasons that UT will not start up another female program for about 5 years and then push for men's soccer. I asked him why we are so far behind the ACC and Big ten and he said that the sec sports are all fully funded unlike the other conference and that you need 4 schools in the sec to make it a conference sport. He is up for the idea and is pushing the other schools to jump in with south carolina and ky. He also is onboard with taking football out of title nine and making the other sports equal. However, he mentioned that this is not a battle for the NCAA it is a battle with congress!!!! p.s - again i am looking for ideas to fight this reverse discrimination and don't give a crapt if you play for some small college and have had a good year.
  15. I agree the top ten in d2 and naia and d1 would all be playing at a great level. However, there is a tremendous drop off in naia and d2 after the top 10 to 15 in the nation. But this is not my original arguement. Schools in d2 and naia that compete for a national championship every year are loaded with international players!!!! My arguement is title nine is hurting american born boys. D1 takes the best american kids, but in tn that is not the case because we are limited until we change the rules on title nine.
  16. Mohammed Bowers- state odp team, state champion east tn select team, karns high school
  17. bigG, i realize that these private smaller schools have great soccer. However, when it comes down to money a kid from tn can easily come closer to having a full ride at say e.t.s.u than a private school. Plus i am not worried about the size or division, i am worried that our boys in the smaller sports like soccer are not getting a fair shake!!! Look what happened to western ky and vandi's program. they were financially unstable at these schools and soccer was the first to go not football that cost millions to run. STUPID!!!!!!!!

    Title 9

Title 9 is hurting boy's soccer in this country and i can't believe that there has been nothing done about it. Our boys in tennessee are at such a disadvantage in recruiting because i think there are only two public university's with soccer programs in tennessee. (memphis and etsu). This law is reverse discrimination and is killing the men's game in this country. To believe in 2008 UT does not have a program!!!!!! what do you think?
