I really didn't expect this much out of Robinson. He is a LOT better than I thought. I knew he would bring toughness and be a banger but I did not realize he had the offensive skill that he does. Coby is bringing a little bit of everything. He plays really good defense, passes the ball great, hustles, and then scores when they need him to. I have noticed they are putting him on the other team's best perimeter player a lot too which helps to keep Cody fresh by not having to guard that guy all the time.

I agree with that. It does seem that everyone knows their roles very well. I think the key was Stanley buying into that and doing his damage from 15 feet and in. He has been playing well and is a very tough matchup for opposing teams. He is so quick that most opposing bigs have a tough time with that.

Not sure what the talent looks like down west but you should watch out for Hampton. They are really rolling right now. I personally think they are a step up from the talent that has been coming down there the last several years from Northeast TN. Not very tall but they shoot it well and are pretty athletic at most positions.

Dogs really are clicking right now. It seems they can get points from several different places and everyone is playing team ball. Coby and Tristan are both playing well now and look to have knocked the football rust off. This really helps with having more options. The dogs seem to really like playing defense too which is important.

Lady Dogs beat Rockwood 57-41.

I agree king...This conference is very balanced this year. I could see any of the 4 top teams finish in any order. I knew NG would be a tough out. The league winner could have 2 or 3 losses.

There are a lot of excuses when u get beat. Youth, refs, injuries, etc. Sometimes they are true. Cyclones are a young bunch though where most of their talent comes from the sophomore class. SH proved it was the better team. I thought this one would be a little closer than the last one and I believe it was. SH is still the better team. I agree also that Eliz would be better if they pressed some but that decision is not up to me. Good luck to both teams cause I think both could make a good run come tourney time.

Lady Dogs won by quite few vs university high. Played pretty well.

Hampton absolutely gave their game away. Played well in the first half and got up 15 at the half. Just quit after that and played not to lose. Olevera was not there again which didn't help either. Depth was already a problem and this made it worse. Tough loss for the Lady Dogs. Gotta play for 4 quarters.

Landers will roll over SS IMO. Hampton will have their hands full with Daniel Boone. If meigs shoots like they did yesterday they will win the tourney easily but I don't know if they can shoot like that again? They were ice cold on day one but didn't miss against Hampton. They are very well coached too. It will be interesting to see how they shoot today.

Not sure what time the landers play but I would think it would be late. Hampton plays at 530 today after losing yesterday so I would think it would have to be after that. Hampton ran into a really hot shooting meigs Co team yesterday. #4 for meigs is a player for sure. Scored 30 of her 43 points in the 2nd half. Definitely the best player I have watched this year. She has signed with Lee University but rumor is she has been offered by University of Kentucky and is going there? Hampton needs to regroup.

I think hampton is the favorite too but if they don't bring it one nite some of these teams could beat them on any given nite.

I agree with the gap between Eliz and everybody else but I have to disagree about there being a gap between Cloudland and the rest. I actually would rank Hampton and Cloudland as 2a and 2b and it could go in either order. Hampton has played the tougher schedule by virtue of playing Eliz twice and Science Hill. Both Cloudland and Hampton lost to South Greene. I believe Hampton would only have one loss with Cloudland's schedule. Cloudland did win the one tournament they were in but beating up southwest Virginia teams doesn't really tell us anything. Even the good teams over there are not very good as compared to TN teams. Cloudland is good but they would need to do a little more for me to say they are a level up from Hampton. I actually think Hampton matches up really well with Cloudland when they play head to head.

I'm not joking and I have watched both teams play. I just said it wouldn't surprise me. If I had to pick a team to win it would be Science Hill. I just think it may be closer than what u "experts" think. I think the toughest matchup for Eliz is actually Tarter and if SH can get out in transition. Some of the other girls for Eliz have improved but the twins need to have a good game for Eliz to compete and I think they will.

I think the Cyclones give the Hill a much better game this time. It wouldn't surprise me if they pulled the upset.

Back to the subject of the thread. The best players I have seen in upper east Tn this year are Zeke Clarke at Eliz, Cody McClain and Stanley Valentine at Hampton, Patrick Good at Crockett, Logan Carrier at Unaka, and the Songster kid at Science Hill.

South won't give you guys any problem.

No offense to the landers because they are a good team but In my opinion it wouldn't be that close. I might be wrong but just my opinion. From what I have seen you have Science Hill and Eliz girls and then everybody else. The 3rd best team in this area could be a number of teams.

The Hampton girls really played well after they got started. Looks like they will have a new style too.

Lady Dogs played pretty bad at SG especially in the first half. I hate to blame the refs but you know what you are going to get down there. SG is a decent team. Dogs made a good run towards the end to cut the lead to 5 or 6 but couldn't get any closer.

I thought the refs were gonna keep SG in it there at the end when they cut it to about 5 or 6 points but the Dogs went on an absolute barrage and played maybe the best 5 or 6 minute stretch i have seen them play this year. Very impressive. You could tell the big "and one" slam by Stanley got them going.

Better hope hampton boys are 20 points better than south greene. I didn't remember the refs being this biased down here but they are absolutely pathetic. Worst I have seen in a while.

Yeah, you can tell he is just trying really hard but things will start to slow down for him when he gets a few games under his belt and he will be able to relax and just play. He has a good looking shot but u can tell he is just a little jacked up when he shoots. As soon as he relaxes they will start to fall. Won't take long.

Hampton is starting to come together in my opinion. Stanley needed some help on the boards and Robinson has been doing it. Camillo does his job there too and does a good job boxing out. Future is really bright for the Dogs because that JV bunch is a handful. Probably more talent there than I have seen in a while. Coby is really going to help this year too. He made a couple of mistakes against the Cyclones but I thought he really played well against Happy Valley when they needed him.

I really like Brandon, but not real good coaching there at the end. You have tell ur guys not to foul with 3 seconds left. Should have also backed off just a little bit when they were up one with less than a minute left. All they had to do is just get one stop and they did not have to foul. One stop wins the game. Hate it for them cause they had a really good chance to advance.
