Sg by about 10...one of the scrappiest bunches I have seen in a while. Hampton better realize that last big win dont mean nothing now.

Those were a little questionable but she made contact on both of those plays. I am referring to the ones that decided the game at the end. 2 or 3 calls that sent SG to the line where there was pretty much no contact and then the more than obvious walk that would have been called at any level of basketball. I really don't know how they missed that one? That was a huge play that I think put SG up by 2. That one would have been called on LeBron. Good luck to SG.

Yes...South Greene won by 4. Game could have went either way. Some very questionable calls on the last few plays of the game really helped the rebels but I guess that should be expected with the type of officiating we have got this year. Congrats to the rebs though, they are a great team.

Hopefully 1A championship will get to be played tonight. Looking forward to a good game between South Greene and Hampton. No matter the outcome, I could see these 2 playing again.

Hampton Girls are rolling after that stupid loss to Unaka. Crushed Unaka at Hampton and then had big wins over NG, University High, Cloudland, and they just blew out Unicoi by 30 last nite. I know the Dogs would like another shot at HV but won't get it.

Ukoit2....if u would get ur boy some Duke shorts to warm up in he would score about 10 more per game!! Lol

Kim Sweringen is back and played against Johnson Co. She hit her head taking a charge against Unicoi Co and I believe she may have had a mild concussion.

Lady Dogs played South Greene pretty good and hung with them for most of the game until losing by 12. Had cut the lead to one point close to the end of of the 3rd qter. Tried to run a defense in the 2nd half they had never run but I'm sure the coaches felt that was their best chance to win the game. Dogs came out 2 nights later and beat Chuckey Doak by 10. Chuckey Doak is a really good team and the Dogs were behind down there by around 30 at one time so that shows how much they have improved. They also played both teams without Kim Sweringen which really hurt with their lack of depth to begin with.

Hampton girls played really good defense against Happy Valley but just made a lot of mistakes on offense. The last minute of the half really killed Hampton when they turned it over 3 straight times and Happy Valley scored 7 straight points.

Their defense was some of the best I've seen in a while. You can tell they work on it.

Yeah I don't know if it would have made a difference either but Coby is the one best equipped to guard Good on Hampton's team. I just would have liked to have seen the matchup. I definitely think his defense plus what he would have contributed on offense would have made this one a nailbitter. Just my opinion anyway.

Good played great against the dawgs. Really not much the Dawgs could have done different besides straight up double him every play which would have left one of their other shooters wide open and I'm sure he would have found them. I'm not saying the dawgs would have won but I really would have liked to have seen the dawgs play them with Jones on the floor and full strenth. May not have mattered but I think it would have.

Dogs won by about 12 over South. Foul trouble helped South get back in it a little. Dogs played pretty well and much better than the first 2 games. Eliz had to hold on to beat Greenville after seeming to have the game under control. It was tied late in the game after a furious comeback by Greenville. Eliz got rattled quite a bit in the 3rd qter and that is something you rarely see from them. They finally got things back in control towards the end.

I know Hampton girls play at 430 both days. S. South on Friday and Cherokee on Saturday.

Lady Dogs...OK gonna be VERY young. Played with 4 sophomores and 1 freshman for while in the first couple of games. 3 girls are gonna have to score a lot of points IMO. Kim Swearingen, Alexus Grubbs(soph) and Tatum Street(soph). All 3 started multiple games last year. Street had 17 against Chuckey Doak with Grubbs and Sweringen scoring about 8 each in a game they lost and did not play very well. That was about all the points they had but those 3 will have to produce. Madi Wear(jr) started some too last year when she came off her injury. She brings a lot of size(6'2) along with Megan Garland(soph) who is also 6'2 but is still a little raw but coming along well. Hope Bridgeman(soph) is probably the future point guard and shoots the ball well and handles the ball well she just needs some experience. Cheyanne Tuelle is freshman that has started both games so far and looks like she could be a good one. The Dogs strength is that they can go really big with 6'2, 6'2, 6'1 across the front line but they are a little short on outside shooting. Ball handing could also be an issue.

I'm really sorry you are ticked off but if you believe any school public or private can get to the state tournament in 2 years of existence without recruiting we may need to reexamine who looks kind of stupid here? That said, I didn't mean anything bad about LEAD they had a good bunch of kids.

No it wasn't even close to that....don't go full potato on us here. Hampton got sloppy a little but made the plays offensively and defensively to get the win. Lead will have to recruit a little better next year.
