  1. After Chatt A&S beat RBS by 36, yes 36 points, I would not count anyone out this year. RBS overcame a 15 point Clarkrange avantage to win by 2 and JC only beat them by 4 in the Region so I wouldn't overload my rear end if I was a certain knucklehead.
  2. Jackson County has 6 State Championships not 5. One in 73 then 4 in a row in AA then one two years ago when Laken hit the winning foul shot When the post you're referring to was made, Jackson Co. had 5 championships. Clarkrange has 8 state championships and 1 runner up
  3. Glad somebody finally came out and said it. You are 100% correct. Sad testimony on something that should be solely performance based.
  4. FL, you are correct. My initial post was to point out to someone who wasn't even at the game that JC beat CR without Heady and that singular incident contributed more to a JC win than anything else. Heady was missed as much for her defense as offense. Had she been in there playing the "4" JC would never have been able to pass the ball into a wide open post for easy points. The inexperience at that position was clearly evident in the second half. The "Mollyless" comment was strictly to point out how well the CR girls played with their star player on the bench. Alot of teams would have wilted but the CR girls showed tremendous character and really stepped up and played great team ball. It was a great game without Heady but with her....who knows. I think I do. My further posts were pointed towards the inbred, illiterate hillbilly who obviously lacks basic English comprehensive skills as he wrongly interpreted the intent of my initial post. His continued derogatory commentary simply displays an individual in need of a "life" as his personal insecurities and lack of any type of accomplishments in his own pitiful existence apparently leave him to believe that he must somehow try and live vicarioulsy through a high school girls basketball team. He thus lashes out at anything he perceives to be a "shot" at said team. He is a very sad individual who has done nothing to boost the acceptance of or appreciation for a very good program in Jackson County. O86 is correct in saying that one individual's comments makes it impossible for anyone to say or think anything good about JC. Personally, I do apologize to anyone who might have been offended at my offensive jabs but when you deal with a bottom feeder you must sometimes state things in a venacular that trash understands, to wit; he is a piece of s....
  5. Ditto. And by the way, you're still a piece of s.....
  6. First of all we all hope Ms. Heady is ok and returns to the court soon. But lets get one thing straight Jackson Co. was beating you with her in the lineup so don't act like because she went down the outcome would have been different. Mollyless CR? You've got to be kidding me, CR was good before she transferred in and will be good when she's gone. They have alot of talented players you must be her mom or dad or related to her to post something stupid like that! Both teams played hard and both are very good teams. Mollyless CR give me a break so whats your excuse the first half then KGM? Sorry that dog won't hunt And you're still a piece of s..... I am sure a classless bum like you couldn't care less if Molly is Ok or not. You probably smiled when she went down considering you're a piece of garbage. Everyone knows you and everyone in JC loathes you. If there was any moderation on this forum you would have been gone long ago. JC is a good team but they nearly lost without Heady playing anyway. With Molly playing the outcome would have been significantly different. JC looked pretty good the first half, not so much the second. Without Molly CR was up by six and the game went back and forth the entire second half. Now why don't you do everyone a favor and step out into traffic. Looks like i hit home with the "are you her mom, dad or related to her" post. Now you're attacking me as if i've done something wrong, hmmm i smell a rat!!! You're the one that has tried to make her larger than Clarkrange not me by saying the "mollyless clarkrange and now you're just trying to deflect the obvious. I'm sure she would have impacted the game but lets look at what is the TRUTH! Jackson Co. beat Clarkrange earlier in the year with a healthy Molly Heady by 10 and it wasn't that close. Jackson County was beating Clarkrange at the half when she went down with the injury. Clarkrange is a very very good team and let me emphasize TEAM not a one person show. They are very capable of beating JC as we were last year but weren't able to, just like the year before when JC beat you ALL 5 times we played but CR could have easily won any one of those games but didn't. The best TEAM won just like last year. CR was the best TEAM. Did i mention T E A M? So mom, dad, aunt, uncle how about you give a little credit to the other players on Clarkrange because they ALL played hard! Mollyless Clarkrange you've got to be kidding me!
  7. Yes, they did take advantage. Advantage of the fact that Molly Heady, one of the top players in the state and CRs leading scorer, went out of the game on the last play of the first half and did not return. Funny how you failed to mention that small fact. We hope her knee injury is not serious and that she can return soon. Without Molly the Lady Buffs still played hard and the subs stepped it up especially freshman B. Rains. We are all very proud of how the Mollyless CR girls played, taking the game to the wire. First of all we all hope Ms. Heady is ok and returns to the court soon. 9. They've already exploded, on Pickett County. CR is fine. The only problem they have is defense. If you've watched all the games you'll note that they score plenty of points they just don't stop the other team from doing the same. They are getting beat on simple stuff like back doors, easy picks, etc. Somebody is always out of position at the wrong time. They also have a tendency to fade in the latter stages of the fourth quarter. They were only down by 2 to Forrest, Upperman, and Blackmon into the fourth quarters. I don't remember how close they were to JC and they certainly should have beaten TN High. For some reason they've been down by just a few points into the fourth and about the last third of the game fade away instead of fighting back. They just need more grit at this stage. Dickens is playing better every game and is a huge contributor. With Reed at point they need more defensive presence from their players at the two and three positions. With Reed, Heady, and Dickens they can beat anyone in the state but again, they need more help from the other two positions.
  10. She transferred to play for a winning program and to experience playing in the region and state tournaments. As as result she is now a district, region, and state champion and has received numerous personal awards which would have never happened at Monterey. As a by-product she received much more exposure and attention and signed with TTU after her junior year. Again, none of this would have happened had she not moved. Same for Leonard. These are simple facts that you cannot ignore as WE are using bandwidth now to talk about her, thus more exposure. How many people were talking about her being one of the best if not the best players in single A when she was at Monterey? None! Just look at the posts here about her since she moved. Obviously, she is receiving more exposure, it's right in front of your eyes.
  11. Each was already recognized as one of the best in Class A before transferring. Whether such transfers diminishes any success can be debated but that can't be, lack of exposure wasn't a problem. As for signing, I'm sure their college coaches were more interested in what they could do in AAU against other players with college potential, not what they could do against the average high schooler even in a good basketball area. Sorry, disagree. Had Heady stayed at Monterey she would have simply been the best player on a lousy team. That doesn't count for much. Coming to Clarkrange exposed her to girls just as good playing in a program geared to win. Tasha Phillips complimented Molly greatly as Tasha was usually doubled up allowing her to pass over to a single covered Molly who scored, and vice versa when Molly rec'd the double. At Monterey she would have been doubled all the time and not been nearly as proficient scoring, passing, etc. Her numbers would not have been nearly as impressive and and any college coach, had they even looked at her, would have had to think about her with regards to potential not production. At Monterey she would have seen her team bounced from the district in the first game (probably) and she could have enjoyed the region/state tournaments from the stands. She would not have rec'd the accolades she has, would have never been written up in the Herald/Citizen at all, and not have been nearly as highly regarded as she is now. The very same can be said for Leonard if she had stayed at RBS. Neither would have been state champions as they are now, and neither would have been as highly touted as they are now. Those are the facts. BTW, name one stater for Pat Summitt that played on a bad HS team? Name one from TTU or MTSU that came from traditionally horrible HS programs? They don't exist.
  12. Sorry, not hollow just another victory. Clarkrange blitzed PC last night and won by 19 and it could have been worse if the JVs didn't come in. Why would girls with talent transfer to PC to play? If they have the talent and want to be recognized they will go to the better programs where they will receive better coaching and more exposure. That's a simple fact of life. Molly Heady is going to TTU on scholarship. Would that have happened at Monterey? No. Laken Leonard is going to MTSU. Would that have happened at RBS? No. PC has three all state players. Where have they signed to play college b'ball? Probably no where. Getting a scholarship to pay for college is a big, big deal as most parents struggle to pay for their kids if it's coming out of their pockets. You should appreciate that and not belittle other programs that are historically better for obvious reasons: better coaching, more recognition, more championships, more players receiving scholarships. They were playing Jackson co. with last year's Miss Basketball...a transfer from Red Boiling Springs, and one of the teams favored to win the state this year. And, yes, PC should have beaten them, but didn't play for the first 12 minutes like they can. The rest of the way they did outscore JC. The score could also be Jackson Co. 59 Pickett Co. 56 RBS 10 and last night Pickett Co. 58 Clarkrange 35 York 18 and Monterey 24 There has to be pride in having your own homegrown girls playing for you, instead of building teams with tranfers. Winning like that has to be a little hollow.
  13. Just another stupid post from the "master." Dickens family built a new home and moved to CR so she can play wherever she wants. That's the only transfer from York. There are four middle schools in Fentress County. 8th graders can go to either of two high schools when they are freshmen, CR or York. You can't transfer from the 8th grade, dufus. Any 8th grader with any talent is going to come to CR. Wouldn't you? Why continue with your lies?
  14. Just like there is in Jackson Co. And RBS for the matter. But see when it happens at JC its "recruiting" and the CR faithful blew up the message boards and so did you! Oh but when it happens at Clarkrange with Heady last year and the 6 new transfers this year including one of York's starters from last year and by the way speaking of that how does a player get to transfer to another school "in the same county" and not lose eligibility? Something is fishy with that or maybe Rogers has so much pull with TSSAA that they just let him do whatever it is they want? I guess the Sleeper girl was considered a "transfer" to RedBoiling as well right muffin? Isn't it a little early for the "moron" of JC to make an appearance? Your jealousy has no bounds. Did you also see the photo of Coach Rogers with Pat Summit shaking hands on the cover of the Fentress Courier? Very nice photo by the way. Maybe she's helping him find players, huh. Of course in your twisted mind she probably is.
  15. Clarkrange didn't have any trouble with anyone they played. I don't think Cannon County could ever give them a game at anytime. The JVs looked pretty good with all contributing. CR did get a little lazy against Lebanon when they were up by 29 but it's hard to stay sharp under those circumstances. Overall, CR will be very tough again this year but not nearly as dominant as last years team.
  16. The PC girls should do fine with all the talent that is returning. 7A will be a shootout this year as four teams; CR, JC, CC, PC are all loaded with pretty much equal talent. CR will have Kelli Reed, Molly Heady, Carly Dickens, and Suzy Cooper so they haven't lost much in talent but they have lost plenty in experience with four graduating seniors. They looked great together in summer camp so I expect them to be a major force as always. JC really didn't lose anyone and getting knocked out of the state tourney by PC will have them ready. PC got a taste last year so they will not be as green as they sometimes showed last season in some games. I think the sleeper is CC. They are well coached and with the younger team they had last year being one year older, could really do some damage in 7A. But, if I had to make any predictions, expect Lamar Rogers and Jim Brown slugging it out in the end as the two premier programs in Class A always seem to rise to the top.
  17. Untrue. York gets most of the talent that lives in Jamestown proper. Brandi Brown for instance. Can you imagine if she had come to CR over York. At least one or two more State Championships for CR. Instead she went to York and took them to the state tourney. Now she's at MTSU and this year she scored about 16 points against the Lady Vols. It is much more difficult for CR to get the talent out of the north end of the county. If there was only one school it would be a powerhouse albeit in a higher classification. Of course CR is already at powerhouse at Class A.
  18. Well, you are incorrect as usual. I don't know why you even post as you are NEVER correct about anything. Girls from Fentress County can play at either York or Clarkrange unlike other counties that have one high school, i.e., Jackson County which has nearly twice the enrollement as CR. CR has to compete with York for local players and vice versa which actually makes it tough for each school. There is no zoning. In reality the only county school in Fentress is CR. York is a state supported institute funded due to a promise the state made to Alvin C. York to always do so. You remember Alvin don't you? Maybe you think he transfered into Fentress Co. as well /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> York is a very unique school with regards to funding. Clarkrange has only had two out of county transfers in the last decade, Ashley Howard from Wartburg and Molly Heady from Monterey. That's it. All the rest of the hundreds of players are home grown Fentress County girls that grew up here and played here at one of the many elementary schools in the county and ended up at CR. So, as usual, you don't know the truth, not that you'd care as you and many others on here just cannot believe that Lamar Rogers can continually produce outstanding teams with players from a high school with less than 300 enrolled. Sorry to dissappoint you but he is really that good. Regarding Carly Pickens, it was assumed to be a foregone conclusion that she was coming to CR to play basketball. Her decision to go to York was a big surprise actually and I would not be surprised if she ended up coming to CR. As the crow flies she actually lives closer to CR than York. We will see what happens but she would be a welcome addition to the Lady Buffalo team.
  19. 7A will be very balanced next year with CR, JC, PC, and CC all fighting it out. Should be an interesting year.
  20. That's true but that team was not nearly as dominant as this years. The 3-peat team won each of their championship games by only two points so they did not overwhelm teams like the team of this year. It's all good fun to talk about but we will never know.
  21. Yea, it's probably their head coach. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  22. How big of a child are you? I mean really. Nothing you've said has any validity at all. As soon as these championship games are over it's chaos as the trophies are coming out, pictures are being taken and everyone is rushing to get to the next game. It's a shame that the TSSAA doesn't do a better job of allowing the winning team to actually take in what's just happened. They don't get to cut down the nets, nothing. It's always been that way and I always wonder what's the rush. They're only playing three games so why not take a little time and let everyone enjoy the win. Instead it's rush here, go there, stand here, pose there. Ok, get off the floor. Total chaos. The CR team did not disrespect anyone they were just going with the flow and standing where they were told, doing what they were told to do, etc. Redog you are 100% wrong and your comments unfounded. Spread your lies and jelous comments elsewhere like back in shool next week when spring break is over. Obviously you're not an adult.
  23. Although the '04 Championship team is my personal favorite I would have to say that given this years team's record and how dominant they were that they are the best team CR has ever produced. Coach Rogers said as much in the newspaper. There has only been one other high school team in Tennessee history that has gone 39-0 and that was back in 1966 so the argument for them being the best CR team and possibly the best Class A team in history, is a strong one. They certainly have the best record all time. I don't even think they played 5 on 5 ball back in '66.
  24. I must assume that you are either a child/teenager or just someone wanting to stir the pot. CR this year was the best team the program has ever put on the floor and arguably the best single A team to ever play in the state. They have lost four seniors that were the nucleus of that team and they cannot be replaced, ever. These girls had been together forever starting at South Fentress Elementary. Molly and Kelli will do all they can but next year CR will not have a point guard to speak of and certainly will not be as good at the 2 guard which you call wing. Hannah Green was, IMO, the most consistent player on the team and the best all around player they had. You can't replace her with a sophomore. CR will be a very good team next year but nowhere near the caliber of the this state championship team. How could you even begin the believe that?
  25. You forfeit your life too easily /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> It was Maxwell who made the three. CR was up by two points with Hannah Green on the foul line for a 1 x 1. Green hit the first and only needed to make the second to secure the win. She misses, Leonard gets the rebound and starts down the court dribbling the ball practically over her head. The CR faithful of which I am one screamed for the "carrying" call which never came. Leonard passed off to Maxwell and she hit the three at the buzzer to put the game into OT. Yes, I remember it like it was yesterday. Best game of the year IMO.
