  1. Isn't that Leonard's "daddy" making those absurd comments. They beat some school in Florida that is the best in the world and no one else they play is even in their league, huh. Funny then that they've dropped two to Clarkrange and in both games never lead, two to Upperman, and one to Riverdale. Imagine what these schools would have done in Florida. And as far as history shows...Lamar Rogers is 29-14 overall against JC so history shows that he has won twice more than he's lost to this school. Currently, according to rankings in the Tennessean, Clarkrange is number 2 in the state in all classes coming in behind Memphis Central. CR is also nationally ranked. I guess we will see in the end what history shows.
  2. Well, CR was up by four at the half and built that to a 14 point lead in the 3d and pretty much maintained that lead going into the fourth. I do in fact believe that JC was intentially trying to slow the pace and keep the score low as everyone who's watched CR knows they get a ton of points off of transition so you don't want to get into a race with them. A slow tempo favored JC so that is what they did in the first half by slowing down their offense. The only problem with that strategy is that when you get too far behind it's hard to suddenly race the tempo and pick up the pace. Anyway, good game which was well played.
  3. Good game. JC's strategy was obviously to hold the ball on offense and try to keep the score as low as possible and then make a push in the 4th. Worked in the first half but in the third CR ran a totally different offense at them with both posts working around the top of the key and Reed moving in low. Worked great and JC had no response. CR built the lead to 14 and maintained a 12 to 14 point lead going into the fourth at which point they slowed the offense and worked the clock. The Lady Buffaloes never lost their composure and lead the entire game after the first minute or so into the game. They were never threatened. Leonard was held to 7 points I believe which stymied the JC offense.
  4. I must assume your uncle's kids use words with multiple syllables, hence your dilemma. I do agree with you on one point, go Buffaloes.
  5. Allow me to make this simple for you as obviously I need to. IF and I mean IF CR plays to their potential it doesn't matter what the other team does. I did not say that anyone's talent is so good that no one has a chance now did I. Would you like to point out where I made that statement or it is your lack of comprehensive "skills" which led to this inference. You make a bold statement by even suggesting CR will meet JC three more times. Are you implying that both CR and JC will breeze thru both the district and regional tournaments? Pretty cocky, eh. One thing's for certain and that is that they will meet in Gainesboro on the 26th. If you are too afraid of what might happen just stay at the house.
  6. Cumberland County is actually a good team regardless of the score. They have about four girls that can legitimately shoot the 3 and a very good post presence as well. As a AAA school they came into the game at 12-5 and I would not be surprised to see them finish with a very good record. Last night they ran into a buzzsaw as CR was hitting on all cylinders outside and inside. The 3s were raining down and the inside game with all three post players that played could not be stopped. Scoring was very spread out amongst the lady buffaloes.
  7. Actually, she's seeing a boy from Pickett County not CR. Teams that play CR this year do not need any extra motivation as they're playing the best team in single A so anything said on a silly message board is irrelevant as everyone that plays CR will bring their A game. Going undefeated is also irrelevant as all that matters is how you finish in the end. Your comments concerning skill make no sense. JC squeezed by RBS in the first game then blew them out in the second. They were blown out by Upperman in their first meeting and barely lost to them in the second. All that shows me is inconsistent play. JC does not match up well with CR as I said. If CR loses to anyone it will be because they underachieved much like the Titans did agains the Raven last week. They won every statistical category and went up and down the field on the Ravens but penalties, fumbles, and a bad call lost them the game. The Titans are still a much better team then the Ravens but who's sitting at home and who's still playing. That's why they play the games but if CR plays to their potential every time they take the floor they will not lose. If they do not they will lose. They don't have to rely on their opponents to have off nights or bad games but whoever plays CR had better hope that CR does.
  8. The CR mindset is fine. HS girls don't look at games like older fans do. These girls all know each other and for the most part like each other. They play together in AAU and summer leagues. As a matter of fact, one of JCs starters from last years team was at the CR game last night wearing a CR t-shirt. They all compete and play hard but they don't lament over losses, only their mommies and daddys do that. CR and JC are both fine and will both play hard when they meet so again, it will come down to who has the most skill and who puts that skill to use on the court. I have never seen any CR player "lay back" and they do play JC like they play everyone else but JCs defense is better than everyone else's except CR so the CR players have to be patient and work the ball on offense. That being said, JC does not match up well against CR at any position. Leonard and Phillips are a push so when you look at the other four CR has a huge advantage. CR will only lose when CR decides to lose.
  9. It's not about the JC mindset it's about skill and CR is better at every position plus CR is much better now than in the first meeting with JC and while they have won every game except the first one with JC by double digits they have been pushed harder by other teams, especially in the Christmas Tourney they won. I've have been hoping that CR would not become complacent given all the blowout wins but they seem to be 100% determined to put everyone away so the killer instinct is still there. CR should beat everyone left on the schedule and the only team that can beat CR is CR.
  10. Clarkrange won the last game 74-39. That's a 35 point blowout. Stone has never beaten CR and I doubt if they will Friday night BUT, that's why they play the game. The Lady Buffaloes are going into the game 18-0 and confident plus Stone never seems to be able to put it together against the CR defense. We'll see.
  11. I don't think any amount of money would get Larry White to retire that jersey :^)
  12. She started playing varsity for RBS while she was in the 8th grade so this is her fourth year of playing high school basketball but, a great accomplishment none the less.
  13. I should have clarified that with Coach Rogers as coach Clarkrange is 28-14 against JC . They are also 68-21 against Clay County, 74-1 against Monterey, 52-10 against Upperman (Baxter), 64-8 against RBS, 72-20 against Pickett County, and against rival Cumberland County 22-11. The only program around here that has bested CR is Livingston Academy. CR is 4-13 against them. Livingston Academy has always been tough. Overall though, not too shabby.
  14. Even though it was my honest assessment, I do regret making those comments regarding JC's current line up here on an open website. They were uncalled for and simply a knee jerk response to someone's ridiculous rantings. So, again, I apologize for that but, just to set the record straight for the master stat keeper (mtsf) who never has any stat correct, Clarkrange is 28-14 against JC alltime even though JC has won the majority lately.
  15. You make your posts here about the same time every day. It that the only time Mommy lets you use the computer?
  16. CR looked like they were just going thru the motions tonight. Pretty lethargic effort. No fire in the team at all. I thought they were sleep walking most of the night. They are not buying into what Coach Rogers is doing which is coaching for the tournament. He wasn't coaching against CC tonight he was trying to force them into their sets and transition offenses. He is trying to make them run his offense smoothly which they are struggling with now because each of the starters just wants to shoot it up and get the game over with. Some of them are not understanding that they are coming off the floor after taking a shot, even if they were open, because he wants them to execute the offense. He knows Molly Heady can score whenever she wants to and that Tasha or Kelli can take over if needed but they have to understand that to win it all you have to be perfect in in your sets and run the hi/low and motion offenses crisply and efficiently. He is being redundant for a reason. Do any of you remember in the movie Hoosiers when the coach told the team five passes before anyone shoots and the one kid starting shooting when open anyway. He got benched even though he was scoring because he was not running the offense as prescribed. That's exactly what is happening with CR now. I hope they know why Coach Rogers is pounding it into their heads and forcing them to run it correctly. He's not holding you down girls he's prepping you for the "run" to come later. Please understand that. Don't get lazy because you don't feel you're getting your touches or being allowed to shoot. Listen to the coach.
  17. No, actually it was a 10-15 point game that ended up being nine. CR lead the entire game and never looked threatened. They were ahead by ten on more than one occasion and kept JC at bay BUT when up by ten or more the ridiculous calls started which resulted in JC getting much more looks on offense than CR. Yes, they went to the foul line more in the 4th because JC started deliberately fouling to try and get back into the game, duh. Also, Heady is just one of the players on a very good team. When CR beat Oliver Springs by 16 it was Tasha Phillips hitting 21 points and Heady in support. You can't come to one game and declare who is and is not this or that. And, the only reason I KNOW the refs were up to something is because in one of their pow-wows one of them made the comment, "we've got to get this game closer" right in front of the CR bleachers and many fans heard it. Once that spread around the CR faithful were up in arms as you probably heard if you were there. I don't know if he was trying to be funny but comments like that are hogwash. If true they are criminal. I did not mean to hurt anyone's feelings on this thread, especially the good fans of JC. I've sat with many of them at games and they are good people and some of the best fans in the district. I only get carried away when you know who starts his trash which is the only reason he started this thread. So, I apologize to the good folks and wish I could take back the comments on JC's team as they were unwarranted. Sometimes you forget you're talking about high school girls but this moron always gets under my skin (I'm sure that's the only reason he posts anything anyway). For those interested CR beat Coalfied tonight by 24 and Kelli Reed got her three point shot back as she was scorching the nets tonight for sure. On the Clay County tomorrow.
  18. When I saw this stupid thread and who started it I knew it was just the same sad individual trying to stir the pot like always. Problem is that this year he can stir but he ain't got a stick. After getting smoked two games in a row I hope JC concentrates on their entire schedule this year and not fixates on CR like "sad sack" dufus MTSF apparently is doing. In short, JC's team this year is not very good. Good defense but not alot of skill on offense. No bench either. Don't obsess over CR, you have many teams on your schedule that can beat JC. Also, JC is NOT CR's arch rival. That would be Clay County. JC's arch rival is Livingston Academy. At least that's the way it's been for the last decade or so. And, if you ever come to any other CR games you'll see the fans always cheer and clap for the girls just like they did Friday night regardless of who they play. JC was just another team on the schedule. Nothing more. Get over it.
  19. What game were you watching? Clarkrange is easily a 15 point or better team than JC. Horrible officiating is the only thing that kept this game from being a blowout and anyone with eyes could see how this one was being called. The refs did all they could do to keep JC in the game but every time CR got out to a 10 point or better lead the nonsense began. Tasha Phillips spent half the game on the bench in foul trouble on some ridiculous calls. Other than Leonard the entire JC starting lineup was so nervous I don't see how they made it out on the floor. One of them was actually in the restroom throwing up before the game. Overall JC has no offense other than Leonard and the occassional three pointer from #50. They also, for the first time, have no bench. They do play great defense as they always do but with no offense they are the weakest JC team in ten years. State finals? You must be joking.
  20. Nonsense. JC has a bigger talent pool (twice the size of CR) which has always resulted in a stronger bench for JC. Brown can usually go eight deep and not miss any production. He is smart enough to figure that out. Coach Rogers has to contend with York for players within the county while JC gets everyone in their county. Superior coaching my toe Screaming and belittling your players doesn't equate to coaching.
  21. MTSF is just a "tool." Big mouth, no class. Certainly not representative of most JC fans.
  22. Well, anyone at the game certainly cannot say that CR ran up the score considering the 2d and 3d stringers played half the game. You cannot fault them for wanting to play their best. Coach Rogers had many different lineups in the game at various times so they could all get used to playing together. The 2d string was in with five minutes left in the first quarter so no, there was no attempt to run up the score. He only has 15 players you know and when the non starters get in they want to play. I guess he could have taken some of the former players out of the stands and put a lineup together, huh.
  23. Yes, Coach Rogers has never intentionally run up the score although you cannot fault the second and third stringers for trying their best when they get playing time. They won't back down. What about that freshman Susie Cooper. She's could start now just about anywhere else in the district. CR is twice as deep as they've ever been and have some serious talent backing up the starters. The starters are as good as any team I've seen play so RBS had better lace 'em up for this one.
