Do you think Blackman beats them by double digits or can they surprise them?

Whitehaven will be pretty good in the future, no doubt. East will have another good 2 year run because their core is sophomores and a freshman.

I like you watch a lot of mid school stuff in the M, I hope your not saying that the light skin slim kid at Maceo and the big kid are both equal to Johnathan. That wild team won the state sectional too, LOL

Blackman coach does a nice job with those young guys, they play hard and it won't be easy for anyone who plays them. I really like Wilson, was impressed with him both games I saw last year.

Tony G, have you seen the youngest Lawson? He's 6'4, a top 10-20 player in that class nationally and I've never seen him described as not having killer instinct, LOL..He just led a team that had no business winning a middle school state to a championship. He a dog's dog

I'm sure Blackman is good but that team from Alabama ain't East. It should be interesting game but think they are 10 points better than Blackman. Defensively, they are as good as anyone, they held Mr.Basketball Finalist Nate Hoover to 13 points earlier in the year and Jaylen Fisher most recently to under 10 points in the substate game..

It's the truth, I've come to this site a lot over the years and it's always something, this team got old players, they recruiting, they doing this, always a reason why they better, maybe that program just better. People shouldn't be mad because a kid or parents chooses to take they kids to that particular school because if the shoe was on the other foot, no one would say a thing if they team was getting all the talent. Maybe that kid worked his butt off to get to where he is, no one knows how much time that player may have put in the gym in his life or how much their parents may have sacrificed to make their kids or kid the player they are. All they see is, that kid is good and it's gotta be something, oh wait, he old!! No way that kid could be that talented, no way, gotta be a reason he good!! When will it end?

It's a lot of jealousy among schools I see, CPA win all the time and folks hate!! Instead of downing the next program, get with them or go get players!! Simple really!! If someone is good, they old as heck, if you winning, you cheating, it's always a reason why the other team is better than yours and usually it's negative. It's a lot of jealousy in the state of TN and to me that's a female trait. CPA gotta good team, give them they cred, Maddux one of the best coaches in the state.

Way minute, powerful Union City lost? Copenoc, EXPOSED? You slay me, Lawsons, overrated combined for 46 points and 19 rebounds and Dedric didn't play great and still got 20 an 11 and shot 15 free throws? Ummm, that's a part of basketball, be aggressive, you know, play with heart and toughness and you shoot free throws, that's where you make yo money. I thought Hamilton was going to be exposed, but tell your boys or whomever you cheer for to keep shooting jumpers instead of attacking the cup. Baker killed too!!! Best trio in the state, Single, Double or Triple A.

If Coach Patino was so special, he would have made it to state last year in fact I think he has underachieved as a coach with those monsters he's had over the years. He had 6 Division players last year, 7 if you include Mitchell who might play both at Oregon but probably more so football. Leron Black, Chris Chiozza, Davell Roby, Curtis Campbell, Ladarius Coleman, Nych Smith (will play d-1) Someone tell me I'm wrong. 2 years before, they had 7 or 8, am I wrong for thinking that White Station has underachieved? I thought that was biggest thing I took from last season is that they didn't go to state because they were too cool for school last season. Patino should have at least 2 state titles, he has had some really really really good teams. Back to the Hamilton exposed by Oak Hill thing, gee, did you think of that all by yourself? Who expects Hamilton to beat Oak Hill? Not I, because well Oak Hill is Oak Hill, they are the number 1 player in the country. Do I like an event organizer coming on a East TN message board because he thinks no one is going to see it and saying a team in his event will get punished is good? Nope, am I saying Hamilton has a chance against Oak Hill, probably not but ain't nobody gonna get punished, I think that was disrespectful to Memphis basketball especially a team that set aside a game to play in your event. Oak Hill is good but one thing, they better not overlook Hamilton! It was a 6 point game last year at one point after being down by 18 early and the whistles started blowing. So if you saying that they will get exposed by losing to historically one of the best teams in the country year in year out, a team undefeated right now, who probably has lost 20 games total in Steve Smith 30 year tenure, call them exposed...ain't no shame in losing to Oak Hill, it would be a shame losing to Union City, LOL...

You know Hamilton was up on CBC 14 points in that game but a let down tends to happen after you beat your rival the night before by 30 (White Station). You act as though I'm saying the kid can't play? I'm telling what it was, he wasn't out there killing with jab and goes, hitting jumpers, he was posting!! Getting stick backs by the way, Once again, Hamilton against UC, wouldn't be close, I'm sure if you want it to be arranged, it can be, no one has to know, just our little secret, LOL. Again, Mitchell will beat you by double digits, in fact wasn't it done last year by double digits? I'm not gonna go back and forth with you about UC because your son or someone goes there however, I will say good luck and I hope that your team goes far till they play Mitchell, then the season will be over just like well, last year..Good luck..

I was talking about Deberry and his left hand. I think you see what you want, I watched Stockdale against Cordova, he posted on the left block a lot, smart because Cordova wasn't sending help and he was posting smaller Cordova guards which he should have however, I didn't see him hitting the 3 or shooting the mid range jumper or this offensive repertoire you say he has.. Their starting 5 is okay but let's not go overboard, they may can get double figures against them teams they playing but against Mitchell, I'm sorry, I don't see it. I think Union City has a good team but being a fan, sometimes makes us not be realistic. I think Mitchell is 10 points better than UC, again, no hate just me watching as a fan of basketball in the state.

I think as a organizer of an event like the Penny Hoopfest to come on a message board and say a team will get punished is a bit irresponsible isn't it? I could be wrong but that doesn't sound good. What makes you think that Travis? Oak Hill is Oak Hill but it's not like they are just unbeatable team, they are good, in fact probably the best team but to say that is crazy especially as the event organizer. I don't expect Hamilton to win but you seem to be saying it as though it's in concrete, how so?

Hamilton would kill Union City, they too small!! Just being honest, no shade no cockiness, that's just real and I've see Union City, they a good team but Hamilton's size would be to much and they have no one to guard either Lawson or in fact T Baker. By the way, Deberry is good but he's one handed, doesn't like to put in his left much, nice jumper though and Stockdale is a great undersized post up guy, he killed Cordova doing that but I like Mitchell chances against them. I think Martin on the Deberry would limit him as Martin a really good defender and when I say good I mean I haven't seen anybody better as a on the ball defender. UC good though, I wouldn't wanna play them at home if I'm Mitchell because it would be some good home cooking but I still would like Mitchell chances by 10 points.

If Central beat Oak Ridge this year, then they will definitely have problems with White Station. They are simply more talented than Central and Central had a pretty good team but they are not better than White Station. If you play Joe one on one, you will get 25 plus put on you. If Oak Ridge is smart, they better put 2 on Joe but if you do that now, 6'8 Ferrakhan Hall will kill you. He's very skilled and athletic and he can put it on the floor and get by his man. Should be a mismatch for anyone guarding him. Good Luck Oak Ridge but your season may come to an end today if you don't play the best game of your season.

Union city has had great season, but Manassas is on another level. The teams that they lost to where Triple A teams, including state particpant Ridgeway and private school runner up Christian Brothers. Buckner is a heck of a player. At 6'8-6'9, he can do it all and I mean do it all. They have maybe the best shooter in Memphis in Eric Atkins, and one of the best scorers that I've seen in Derrick Richards. Roy McFagdon and Shawn Kearney are good players too. If they were in Triple A, they might have still been in Mufreesboro.

Referees in memphis play huge parts in games, I was at a game, where a team shot 30 more free throws than the other team. Ridicoulous right, no just memphis basketball where the black and white stripes determine games not the players. All of that is to say this, Ridgeway has the best chance to win the state out of them and White Station. Their bigger and much much more talented. Ferrakhan Hall has been added to their roster and played okay in his first game back but to me, Hall is a less skilled version of Sampson Carter (6'8 wing at Ridgeway) but he's a lot more athletic than Carter. What team in East Tn has the best chance ?, but right now if I had to bet money on a memphis team, Ridgeway would win the state.
