Population is not necessarily a good litmus test as to the amount of wrestlers an area should produce. Considering there are no AAU TN tournaments within (3) hours of Memphis, why would you expect a large showing from that area? They have to drive 3 1/2 hours, just to get to their Regional tournament.
Two days into this camp, and I'm blown away. These Iowa wrestlers are no joke! I have absolutely zero allegiance to Iowa wrestling...but, I now understand why they're the best. If you didn't make this camp, you missed out on a great opportunity to improve, and will probably learn a painful lesson from a wrestler who did.
SAC has apparently done a good job marketing this tournament. Wrestlers from Edwardsville, IL., Jackson, MO., Blue Birds, AR., Zumwalt St. Charles, MO., have all committed.
Promises to be a great tournament!
I know the Wave travels well to other areas of the state...hopefully that support will be reciprocated.
This event can be a big step in progressing youth wrestling in West Tennessee, which would ultimately be beneficial in strengthening the entire state.
Will be there!
Congrats to all the Tennessee wrestlers!!! The Memphis area brought 3 fairly inexperienced boys who all did very well.

One of my favorites:
"You call it punishment, I call it practice!"
Another one I like:
"With wrestlers, quitting is never an option."
-Matt Hughes in his book, Made in America.
I'm curious in your opinion which 2 weight classes in the Juniors will Chattanooga not sweep?
By the way, wasn't there a Tennessee kid that beat Eli last year at Father Ryan?
