  1. DonCChatt I can tell in your post how disappointed you are. I think you mentioned in an earlier post that this is your daughter's last year. But you guys have alot to play for in you division and maybe even state. You have to give Baylor alot of credit for sure. They are playing week in and week out the top teams in the state and keep on winning. Congratulations to Baylor and good luck to ND the rest of the way.
  2. Sorry for saying you picked them to lose 3-0 instead of 3-2. I am sure your daughter and her team is very excited for another shot at Baylor. Good luck to both teams and hope I can see it. As for now....gotta go. Ooltewah is playing William Blount tonight at the Owl's Nest.....Go Owls!
  3. Baylor fans may be glad you picked ND DonCChatt. Everytime you do Baylor always seems to win. Didn't you pick Bearden to beat the Red 3-0 and Baylor won 3-0. I would expect a good game but don't think the Irish will win. I think Baylor is the best team in the state and will win.... Baylor 2 ND 0
  4. Congratulations MVM. I did not see the game but it sounds like Soddy has a great team. The Owls were expected to have a rebuilding year after graduating pretty much everyone last year. Good luck the rest of the way.
  5. Coach Potter would really be upset to travel to Chattanooga and lose to Baylor. I hope Baylor can pull off the upset but it will be a big upset if they do. Sounds like the Red Raiders have a great running back and the o line will need to help him to get some holes. Good luck Baylor...hope you make Coach Potter's trip home to Chattanooga a rude homecoming. BA 17 Baylor 10
  6. Owls will roll in this game this year. It's our year..... Ooltewah by 21!
  7. Well you are half right. Baylor will be #1 but Notre Dame will fall after the lose to Soddy.
  8. Before McCallie worries about Baylor don't you think you need to figure out a way to stop a team from scoring 26 4th quarter points to beat you? Just a thought. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  9. Yep....Baylor lived up the the hype....and this is coming from one Ooltewah Owl! Glad I got to see the game. Your prediction was alittle off. Congratulations to a strong Baylor team....and Go Owls!
  10. Thanks MVM. I did not go to the game but Ooltewah and Cumberland did play tonight.....1-1 tie. Don't have any details on it though.
  11. DonCChatt thanks for taking my comments the way they were intended. You seem to always be in the know on soccer and ND in particular. Again, I do not mean this as bashing, etc. But why does a private school like ND still play on the football field like they do. It is not even a good football field by any stretch of the imagination. I hear it from schools (different ones) that they dread playing on that field, size, etc. You hear it mostly about ND because it is a private school and it does not seem to be as big of an issue with public schools....I guess people expect it more. Again, just looking for a why if you know it. Good luck to your team. It sounds like you will have a great season.
  12. Sounds like your thinking is right on. A few on here makes one think that Notre Dame is obsessed with Baylor. They may need to worry about the rest of their schedule first. Go Owls!
  13. If this tournament is at Baylor it would for sure be at Baylor's soccer complex. It is an amazing soccer field and they play all games there.
  14. How right you are. Baylor deserves to start off #1 again for the first time in how many years? They start there and usually end up #1 also. So until a team (ND or anyone else) beats them.....they deserve it. Go Owls!
  15. The name won't be changed and no need to. It is put on by a company in North Georgia and they do a great job. Soccer (boys and girls), volleyball, softball, baseball, football and basketball are all done at great venues. Their are 6 counties represented from Southeast Tn and 6 counties from Northwest Ga represented. This is a tremendous rivarly for this area....as this is a true border for the states with alot of great rivalries. Alot of work is put into this....it is just a great thing and other areas of the state should try it. Great turnouts as well. So no the name will not be changed...as for these two areas of Tn and Ga....it is Tn vs GA and will stay that way.
  16. Way to dominate Tennessee. Defense did a nice job of shutting down the Georgia players and I think they were stunned and not expecting this at all. Tackling is a great player and wonder if he is going to Europe to play or college. I think he is going to try to go pro. It was great to get that early goal....it really took the Georgia fans out of the game. They never had much to cheer about until the Ozzie goal with a minute left.
  17. Very impressive Tennessee roster....all very worthy. I am more impressed with this list than the Chattanooga Times Free Press .... best of preps. Given alot of these players are on the list. But a few are not.....and without naming names they were ripped off. Glad to see them on this list. I hope alot from Tennessee will come to the game....as Georgia will fill it up.
  18. The big border war rivarly is tonight....7:30 at Finley Stadium. Should be a good crowd there....even with Riverbend going on. Their has been alot of trash talking going on between the two rivals and tonight will break a 2-2 tie for one of the teams. Sure hope it is Tennessee.
  19. Has anyone seen a roster for either Tennessee or Georgia yet?
  20. Baylor and McCallie both struggled last year. Not real sure what they have coming back. I do remember that Baylor was hit with an unprecented amount of injuries....had a ton of starters out and many were seniors. I have not heard the rumor about Jarod Coleman....BJ's kid brother. Does anyone know if he is leaving McCallie?
  21. Chattanooga did not have as many teams make it to state as normal. We (Ooltewah) came close but lost in a close one to Cleveland...who had the misfortune of having to play Brentwood right off the bat. Notre Dame and CCS both were upset and did not advance...Boyd advanced but was bounced pretty hard....however I think Boyd is a very young team. You said that no one has won a championship so you forgot about Baylor....just won it last year. Both Baylor and McCallie lost very close games in the semifinals. Baylor to CBHS 1-0 and McCallie to Father Ryan 2-1.
  22. G someone said they thought it was the local paper but it's not. You need to contact stumponsports.com....his name is Stump Martin and lives in North GA....right across the Chattanooga line. The sponsor for all the games is Sportsman Warehouse. Email is stumponsports@aol.com. He does a fantastic job of covering Chattanooga area and North GA sports. He has a local cable television program every Friday and Saturday night for 2 hours devoted to high school sports...has local athletes on...scores, stories, etc. It is seniors only and is for football, baseball, soccer, volleyball, softball and basketball. Great event....the Tennessee-Georgia allstar soccer match is at Dalton High School June 12...both boys and girls. I believe the rosters are set and should be a great game. Stump would be glad to help you out. Good luck.
  23. exactly...southeast Tennessee and northwest Ga. looking forward to more info on this event
  24. Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Georgia....comprising 12 counties hosts allstar games for 2008 graduates. This is for all sports and is a very exciting venue for area sports and graduates. The first game is football to be held at Finley Stadium. The boy's soccer game will be June 12th and Georgia hosts this year at Dalton High School. The state that hosts rotates yearly as this is the 5th year of the event. The roster has been confirmed and will be posted soon. Should be a very exciting game as both Northeast Tn and Southwest Ga has alot of talent. Curious, does any other part of the state do this? This is a great idea and is sponsered by Sportsman's Warehouse.
