  1. they're in the top in the region. however, i wouldn't say they are the best
  2. thats a bold prediction. We have some of the best recievers in the region and 2 of them (Broderick Tears and Kareem Peterson) are in the top 10 in the state in recieving tds and catches and the quarterback has thrown for some 1500 yards and is also in the top 10 in the state i believe. I don't understand where you are getting that the recievers run sloppy routes and the qb has a weak arm but apparently they re doin somethin right. as far as defense goes they have struggled at times but they play tough every week and come up with stops when they need them so i'm not countin the tigers out of this one..... could be a barn burner! i don t know who to pick in this one. Its just whoever wants it more!
  3. thats somethin along the lines of what i was expecting from you. i m gonna be the bigger person and let that slide because i realize the kinda person i m dealing with. you and several other giles fans have been complainin bout lipscomb playin in our region for 2 weeks now. GROW UP!!
  4. Neel is a good qb and is very dangerous for sure. He has thrown for 550 yards and 5 tds with 4 picks. Wallace is going to be a very big d1 recruit for someone and rightfully so, he can spread the ball around and he can also keep you honest with his legs. Couldnt find his season stats so if you got them let us know how he s doin. Morris, however, seems to be going under the radar somehow. so far he's thrown for 1000 yards 10 tds and 4 picks according to the tennessean. Pretty impressive numbers for a high school qb through 6 games. i think i may have to go with morris with numbers like that and not to mention his football team is still undefeated. As far as recievers go i would have to go with Zach Rogers, of course, along with a healthy Rico Brown, Broderick Tears and Kareem Peterson. Thats quite a tandom of recievers and a high school football coach's dream right there!
  5. the tigers are makin old men out of a lot of people, including me, with all these close games!! It seems like all season the tiger offence has had to come back in the fourth quarter to win a very close game. Those guys do not panic and i'll give it to morris, he has made a believer out of me and has improved greatly since last year. It seems like he has ice in his veins, throwing at least 3 of his 10 td passes on 4th and long. like catfish said, this was a classic region 5-3a game. CC's quarterback is a ballplaer and he can really hurt you with his legs as the tiger defence found out last night. I thought Cheatham was the most physical football team the tigers have played thus far. I believe they may be able to win out and go to the tssaa state playoffs for an 8th straight season if they play the way they did last night. Our prayers go out to Broderick Tears as he goes to get an mri on his knee sometime this week. Really hope he is gonna be ok. That is a young man to watch out for for the next couple of years if he can stay healthy.
  6. IF page is able to stop Braden, which very few teams have been able to do over the last 3 years, then they better have their secondary ready because Morris can really sling the ball around as he is in the top 10 passing leaders in the state! Marshall County's offense is very dangerous so to a defence its just pick your poison; stop the run and let Morris and that group of fine recievers beat you through the air or load up on the pass and let Braden get in the open field. I don't see them being able to do that. If Marshall's defence doesn't tighten up then i see this one being a barn-burner.
  7. i m lookin for the tigers to have a big game on offence both on the ground and through the air. i was fairly impressed with the way they moved the ball against a pretty good hickman county defence. Morris threw the ball well and led the offence very well when asked upon. i think he will surprise a lot of people this season. Justin Braiden is as good as advertised as he was very effective running the ball along with Cody Tucker who is a great addition to the tigers this year with his down hill running. the tigers have a very dependable recieving core that consists of Tears, Tedejewski, Peterson, and Carter. I just don t see Creek Wood stopping this mature offense. Look for Marshall to put some points on the board this week and the Don Thomas defense to play more like we here at Marshall County are used to.
  8. how well does creekwood match up to marshall?
  9. i don t know about the guy that posted before me but i thought it was a terrific game! If you were on the other end you wouldnt be sayin anything bout the time but it worked in hickman s favor til the last drive. thats football! that was a very good game by the tigers and the bulldogs. both teams comin up with big plays when they needed them, marshall just made more when it really mattered. this was a classic and one i will not soon forget!!! Great game tigers!
  10. richland beat cornersville like 6 to 14. lincoln county beat giles county 14 to 7. the tigers starters played 3 drives in the first quarter with the defence giving up a touchdown and the offence scoring once and driving down to the one yard line to lose the ball on a high snap on 2nd down from the one. Braiden looked very good scoring on the first play from scrimmage from about 75 yards out. Morris looked pretty good as well. completing several key passes on third downs to move the chains and moved on the pocket pretty good as well. David Tedajewski and Kareem played well too, both playing safety, widde reciever and returning kicks. Tedajewski returned a kickoff for a touchdown and Paeterson came up big on a long ball from Morris which set them up on the 10 to only turn the ball over a few plays later. Defence for the tigers didn't look too bad. they have an impressive secondary and an intimidating D-line but the tigers seemed vulnerable up the middle giving up big running plays. overall the tigers looked pretty good but they will have to tighten up by week one when they face hickman county.
  11. i wasn t there but i was told that they went 5-1 beating lincoln co., bga, mtcs, lavergne and stratford. don t no exactly what happened with giles but i was at the 7 on 7 tonight in hazel green and the tigers did beat giles....with wallace!
  12. yea we re havin our jamboree this year on august 15th i believe with cornersville playing richland, giles playin lincoln, and we ll finish off the night playing coffee county again this. year. as far as scrimmages go, the tigers will scrimmage lavergne and lincoln county as they go off to camp in a couple weeks. not sure on the dates. btw i heard the tigers shredded these two defences in passing league last week though that has absolutely no correlation to a real football game, it is reassuring to no that morris is throwing the ball well this year.... i ve been hearing that he threw the ball very well at the 7 on 7 in lavergne and some of the recievers really started to step including tears and tedajewski. Good luck to the tigers in the upcoming season, i look forward to seeing you in action!!
  13. i ve been hearing rumors that jake morris got hurt in the scrimmage friday. any truth to that/details??
