  1. Bradford and UC split during the regular season! With it being tournament time, both teams will bring their A game! Should be a great game to see! I hope to see Bradford pull out the victory. Let's go Lady Red Devils!
  2. Yes. They are related. I believe Michelle is her aunt.
  3. Ha! Bigster, I love reading your post and I love that you get everyone stirred up. You bring up an interesting point. The biased of an official is completely unfair to any teams of high school girls/boys. I don't care who you are/aren't cheering for, the officiating should be 100% fair. I am aware that everyone misses a call every now and again, but when you put 3 "experienced" officials on the floor, calls should not be missed too often. They are paid for a reason. I would imagine that if I continued to do my job poorly, I would no longer have a job. It seems that there is no way to win. You can file a formal complaint... BUT... that doesn't help after the game has ended and someone has won/lost. Rarely can you blame a game on the officials, but when you can, no one really wins. I am looking forward to the tournament games and hoping that everyone (including the officials) will come game ready and put on a great show! Good luck to everyone over the upcoming weeks. Everyone in 14A knows this will be a tough one and there is no one who is undeserving!
  4. Thanks for your reply. I was certainly not trying to upset anyone and I hope that I have not. I was only curious as to how everything worked out. I completely understand a team that he has built since the 5th grade respecting him and looking for his word... makes perfect sense to me. That's why I wanted someone closer to the situation to explain it. Thanks a lot.
  5. Out of curiosity... I have seen several comments on Frazier doing the coaching. I am not sure if this is meant to be a good or bad thing. My question is, how does his precense and demanding power over the team affect the new coach at Gleason? Is the coach not capable of doing the coaching? Why is Frazier still needed. I completely understand Frazier's abilities as a coach, but I would think it would step on the head coach's toes for his own team to follow the lead of Frazier instead of him. Obviously, Frazier wins games and he always has, but I just wondered what others thoughts on this topic were. I did not actually understand the entire situtation, so I thought asking on here would be my best option.
  6. I will agree totally with all these post. Like I stated earlier, great exciting game... as always. Wallsmith had a really bad night for Bradford, but I suppose every player has off nights. I don't know why Bradford isn't shooting the ball, but I agree completely that it will shut them down in the future if someone (players or coach) doesn't figure this out. It should be very interesting to see what the future holds for all these teams.
  7. Tonights game should be a great one... as all games between Gleason and Bradford are. Bradford has one win against Gleason, however Bradford hasn't been playing up to par in recent games. We shall all see how things go in a short while! Good Luck to all. Hope their is a safe and clean night of basketball ahead.
  8. Congratulations Lady Falcons! You had a great season and a lot to look forward to! /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  9. They will do just fine! I have my fingers crossed for them! Our girls were nervous and and a younger team last year and they surprised everyone! I am proud of all of our teams! I think we have a great sports base and we may not be the "best" year in and year out, but for several small towns who stick together... I'd say we're doing just fine! Be sure to keep us posted on tomorrow's game! Good Luck! /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  10. RetiredStang... all of your apologies are appreciated. I stated in my earlier post that Madison has a good team and I wish them the best of luck. Also in my previous post, I made it very clear that Bradford's frustration was most definitely with the referees and not in Madison's girls. Any team who makes it to the big show needs all the respect that they can get! I would agree that the ref's can not ALWAYS or rarely ever be blamed for an entire game. Many of Bradford's fans have openly acknowledged and agreed that we missed free throws and that could have cost anyone a big game like this! However, I still must say, the calls were a bit one-sided and it was a very open upset in Class A Basketball. But, as you stated the game is over now and there is no going back! The student body at Madison gave great support, it was just very sad to see young people be so rude and disrespectful. After the game, being caught in the moment is understandable, but during half-time was unnecessary. You can't really blame that on the moment! Our girls had physical hands laid on them, and people screaming in their face! But, there are 2 sides to every story! I just hope that the people who did the taunting and the useless fighting on both teams have learned from their mistakes and are able to move on from this experience as bigger and better people! Thanks again for your post. That was very very nice of you. It is great to see that a young supporter of Madison does have such class and style! Thank you again. Good Luck to you!
  11. Bigster.. I really enjoy reading all your post! You do a great play-by-play and remember ALL the details!! I wish my memory served me that well! Good Luck Lake County! We are pulling for you!! /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> You have a great young team that will do great things!! This will be a very exciting game!
  12. All I can say for this game is that your own players, your own fans, I am sure even your own coach knows who had the better team. I heard it from several different fans after the game and again and again on the radio. It is sad enough that someone has to go home, but especially someone who had to play stripes as well as the other team. I find it to be incredibly disgusting and disrespectful the way that the referees in tonights game officiated. They were a disgrace to anything I would call an honest human being. It was clear from the beginning what the outcome of the game would be, did Madison's girls even need to show up? Our girls can definitely take a loss and keep their heads high, but what is completely unfair would be to lose to someone that you shouldn't be playing.... As far as the fans from Bradford go, they have just as much spirit and heart as our team, and they can not stand to see those poor girls come out unsuccessful in a game that should have gone sooooo differently. Best that I can tell, Madison has a strong team and did some very good things tonight, but anyone who was in the gym could see that Bradford was clearly being cheated. Therefore, our fans got out of control! Who wouldn't? And speaking of out of control, how about the way Madison's student body portrayed themselves. VERY TACKY! I can't believe that a principal at any school would let students act in that manner. They were taunting our players and very rude! I am all for cheering for your team and the support was great, but do it in a respectful manner to the players and opposing team. No teams of this caliber, that have made it so far and deserve upmost respect, should be treated that way by another teams crowd. Bradford's disgust was completely with the referees, not with the other children!!! They were certainly not escorted from the gym from taunting the opposing players!!! I'm not sure what kind of "support" you have in your region, but that's not how we play in Region 7A. We always show respect to the other children and other teams always respect us!! They are only high school girls, and neither team, nor any other team, deserves to be treated in such an unfair manner. I am not trying to take anything away from the girls at Madison, they fought and played until the end, I just think that no one should get an unfair advantage! REFEREES HAVE A JOB TO DO, IF THEY CAN'T DO IT FAIRLY, THEN THEY SHOULDN'T DO IT AT ALL! This game is for the kids, not the fans, adults, or referees... it is just very sad the way the game turned out. I wish Madison and all the other teams going to the Buro the best of luck, maybe West Tennessee will come out on top!
  13. I completely agree! This team has really had to prove themselve to EVERYONE!! And for some reason... they still get grief instead of the recongnition they deserve! I am very proud to say that I am a strong follower and supporter of these ladies and could not be prouder of any of them! They are an outstanding team who has overcome obstacle after obstacle to be where they are today! Good Luck next season girls... and good luck to the seniors! Hold your heads high... you have MUCH to be proud of!!!
